UiHi Sam. For blocking granny squares you can get a granny square blocking board. I bought mine on Amazon. Also if you're after joining techniques I find Toni of TL Yarn Crafts a great source of crochet tutorials and tips on youtube

Your sweater is fantastic. The colors and the design are gorgeous. The yarn you are using for your tee is also beautiful. Best wishes for more June.

I just returned from my first trip to Ireland, went to Dublin and south, around to the West Coast and ended in Galway. It was absolutely spectacular and the weather was perfect, even a little warm. I can’t wait to go back. Unfortunately, two days after I returned home, I came down with Covid, as well as five other members of my group. I regret that I did not wear a mask on the plane or in the bus.

Thank you, Sam for your videos. I am older and have a more rounded back which can be a problem with fit. I would appreciate you addressing further the use of short rows to aid for a better fit in the back. Thank you, again.

Knitting for Olive does a really nice merino wool that is non superwash! It's a little bit expensive, but they're heavy merino is super super nice.

Hi Sam, I do a lot of crochet as well and have just finished a baby blanket for my grand daughter using granny squares with daisy centres.. I find the squares don't really need blocking and I'll join them using either a slip stitch crochet method or the 'join as you go' method. The first gives you a super tidy join and the second is more decorative. The squares that are slightly bigger/smaller will be pulled into the right size once they are joined.

That’s very interesting! And glad you don’t need to block them 😅

Hi Sam, I hope your headache is better. Drink extra water! Have you tried Retrosaria Vovo yarn? It’s a non super wash Portuguese yarn, sport weight, but not merino, but they also have one called Brusca, made from 2 Portuguese sheep and one is a merino I think. Worth looking up, maybe? I love your Icelandic sweater, it look so nice. Happy belated birthday!

Hi Sam! Thank you for this new episode. A great (German) merino non superwash that I have tried is Rauwerk. It is woollen spun (at least the DK weight) and very nice to knit. Just bear in mind that, even if it's labelled as a DK, it knits more like a worsted, almost aran (18st/10cm looks just fine as a fabric). They also have sportweight, which I can only assume it knits like a traditional DK

Hi Sam- I love non-superwash merino wool as well. My favorite is from Trilogy Yarns, an independent dyer from the US.

Non-superwash merino: Double Sunday, Wool Dreamers Dehesa de Barrera & La Rinconada, Walcot yarns has some merino mix, Studio Donegal has a bunch of lines, I've used their Soft Marl, Rosa Pumar Joao, West Wool Bicycle & Tandem, Knitting for Olive, Lang Yarns have a few, I'd also check out Fonty & Kin Ross 4 ply, . The Daisy doesn't wear well. Same thing with the We are Knitters merino.
I also have the weird amounts of sweater scraps that I don't know what to do with.
