Don't know if it's because the planes are bigger or what... But I have to say this episode had some of the best in-flight photography I've seen from you guys!!! I couldn't help but smile as I watched!
I love how this was filmed with multiple cameras, especially the chase cam. And I love the formation flying! I could tell you guys were having a blast, and it's definitely contagious even through the camera.
Okay guys... I have a multirotor challenge for you. Get as many mini multirotors and pilots as you can safely and effectively gather which can all fly at one time. I am guessing 4 to 6. Divide into teams of 2 or 3, then think of the old parachute game from elementary school where you try and shake the chute to move the beachball off the opposite side. Get short strings with hooks that attach to the "chute" (or similar and appropriate size fabric) and then set it up under a large tent or place like gymnasium or hangar that has a finite ceiling of about 20 feet. Game to 7- gotta win by 2 like in volleyball.
***** I don't think that'll work :). The "people" version works because of the "height limit" of the people. You have to "wave" the chute to move the ball. With multirotors everybody will just go straight up to try to tilt the chute to one side, resulting in carnage as soon as they hit the ceiling ;)
Balu That is why I implemented an "artificial" ceiling in the description; something as simple as a tent would work... a bungee tether is also an option and a good one as if you spring up too far you will nly loose control and smack back down... the bungee could attach to the multi, and then the fabric or chute, and then the ground... making for a finite amount of vertical maneuvering. Thanks Balu... but I thought about this... a little, ROFL!
You could have had the plane carry a filled water balloon in a rear compartment, then set up a servo with sharp piece of wire that extends into that rear compartment to pop it on command. This would have let you keep the water almost completely separate from your electronics, and you would not have to worry about losing any water while you flew around.
The water bomber was based on the CL-215. A true and accomplished real life fire fighting airframe. Also nice to see a varient of the Boxcar in the air.
Josh, Austin, Alex, Peter, and Eric... Great video and great planes! Great to see Eric back in the mix! Wonderful episode and the water bomber was great! Keep up the good work and keep this kind of content coming. These are the episodes that made you guys who you are. Thanks for The 3 E's are back!
From what I saw online Dipper was a Grumman Goose with a tricycle landing gear setup as opposed to the taildragger setup actual Goose aircraft had. Along with a CL-415 paint job as well.
This is what I love about Aviation. When you can share it with friends, have innovative ideas, and just be your plain old fun self. This episode showed good old - FuNovaTioN - at its best! Family, Friends, Food, Fun, and Flying! That's all I need and I'm good.
Yes! Peter is awesome! Quietly building greatness. Tall dude is great too. Forgot his name. Tall dude works for now, right? This episode made me very happy, had the spirit of the "old" days. Thank you!!
Josh and gang, you probably will not see this but thank you for the smiles. I always enjoy your videos and so look forward to the next one. Your presence and fellowship abound! Thank you and see you next time.
Great Video Guys and Peter is a Great addition to the crew. I love the water dropping plane and Peter getting everyone wet. Alex is getting pretty good at following and getting some great aerial video of you guys flying. Keep up the Good Work Guys.
I'd say that the water bomber is more of a Canadair/Bombardier CL-415. Also, the C-119 looks AWESOME! you should totally make a speed build kit for it and i really look forward to it happening.
I propose a challenge for ft. Seeing how large the cargo plane is, how about a how long can it fly challenge? Explain the build logic, ideas and show us how long the plane could fly
How about a video on advanced multi-rotor design. -Such as a quad copter with motors facing down instead of up -The difference between a v-tail and a tri-copter and why you would want one over the other. -Along with the advantages or disadvantages of any "system". OR even better make a series about it like the beginner series!!!!! Big fan of your show and I have watched all your videos. Thank you guys for what you do!
That yellow and red plane isn't a knockoff of a Grumman Goose--instead it's a pretty close copy of the Canadair CL-215--a dedicated fire control airplane. Check this link out for more: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadair_CL-215. BTW it's a water scooper--it would be fun to see you guys try THAT!!
David Bunch Make sure you turn on the transmitter first. I think I had to do that with mine, whereas with a lot of these other ones you can turn the quad on first.
This was amazing! I have to build a Grumman Goose myself (can't wait for the plans), but maybe I manage one tiny improvement: the eyes move in the direction of flight :)
i was mesmerized by the boxcar! should have had a camera in the cargo bay to see the payload get dropped! Can you do a review for the boxcar? it would make a great fpv ship!
Have you ever thought about a Destruction challenge? Just a good old time of seeing you guys making the best destruction you can. After seeing the FT Viggen video I just want to see more of that! Isn't that part of the hobby, right?
About Peter: I am so glad to see him come from the "minors" as a skilled guest and now invited to the "SHOW". Any major player needs to learn his place on the team. From what I've seen, Peter has a lot to offer, just like David (he was scored badly at first). Peter is a great builder...the quad-plane was cool.....give him a chance....Peter- work on your delivery...just like David had to.
GREAT vid there gentlemen ! It really shows of the fun you guys had in doing this. Great effort with building the planes too. My three year old immediatly told me that I have to build them. lol.
Great episode guys! Those planes fly amazingly! Very stable! I love the "accident" in the very beginning. At least it was outside and not on the carpet! Lol
The air to air was amazing and I can already see big thing from FT in the near future! I think that Peter is going to bring something special to the show! Like his VTOL cargo! Another thing you have said that you have had a ton of mini quads showing up at your door step! Maybe a mini quad review compare and contrast video with all of them?? And maybe even an FT mini quad?!
Very cool. I'd really like to see a video featuring Josh Bixler and his main interests. The hobby is going tech heavy (eg: fpv quads) which is far from any RC pilot's origin if they've been flying for more than a decade. I'm thinking that there are people like me that want to see what got him into flying and how his interests have changed over the years. Maybe show off a big nitro plane or something similar from long ago, vs his newest favorites (quads?, planes?, etc?). Thumbs up if you are interested in seeing deeper into Bixler's origin story too!
I think that it might be possible to use the sprayer from a Swifter WetJet mop to release the water. It may need some modification for greater volume..
I love that large plane. cool episode. My sons and I are building based on some of your design Ideas. Our did not look or fly as cool as yours. Lots of improvement. Thanks for the tips.
I love you videos! I check every week for the next one to pop up on my phone so no matter where I'm at I can click on it and watch it immediately. I enjoy all that you guys do and the creativity very much don't change a thing. Peter you're great don't let the negative comments affect you, keep up the good work all of you at FlightTest!
YES YES!!!! I love you guys!! I was thinking about this video and thought "Hmmm, wonder if Flitetest will store water in a plane and set out a fire" Then I saw your video…It made my day. Quick question though…Can you make a video on the electronics of 2 motors on a plane? Like the plane you are using has 2 motors…Do you need 2 batteries? Or 2 receivers? Would really appreciate a reply!
One of the funiest episodes ever! besides, featured planes are awesome!! reaLLY enjoyed thiss one. oh, almost forget! You FT guys are frequently stating your foamboard do not resist water, well here in my country we use a foamboard that has a kind of plastic surface,I think is polipropilene, instead of paper what is used in the " sabdwich". It works perfect and is very lightweight. All my FT bugs are made of that and are ofcourse , waterproof.
Don't know if it's because the planes are bigger or what... But I have to say this episode had some of the best in-flight photography I've seen from you guys!!! I couldn't help but smile as I watched!
Thanks! I will pass that along to Alex :)
FliteTest Also pass along that his new haircut looks much better than the old shaggy rug he had going on in the past!
I was thinking the same thing.
FliteTest The air to air shots were great, but alex deserves a bigger camera ship. he is doing a great job!
FPVREVIEWS I believe that he prefers the mini quad because of its agility and speed
The CL-415 Dipper plans are still the only set I want from FliteTest after all these years. Thanks for everything so far for so long.
My lil cousin: OMG THE MOVIE PLANES
9 years and still my favorite video from flite test
I would love to see that black cargo plane become one of the builds/kits. It looks sweet and seems to fly like a dreamsicle.
Me to I wish they would put up plans
Absolutely agree!! C-119 Speed Build Kit!
I love how this was filmed with multiple cameras, especially the chase cam. And I love the formation flying! I could tell you guys were having a blast, and it's definitely contagious even through the camera.

***** You're crazy! Love it
FliteTest
crazy like a fox... I am staring at winter approaching here in the east... gotta find quad fun indoors.
FliteTest
...of course water balloons might be fun... or eggs?
***** I don't think that'll work :).
The "people" version works because of the "height limit" of the people. You have to "wave" the chute to move the ball.

Good idea
Well it’s actually a really good idea but they might not do this again now
Yeaa
Or they could just drop the water balloon with an automatic hatch?
Clever idea
The sun glasses on the ft duster were priceless
The water bomber was based on the CL-215. A true and accomplished real life fire fighting airframe. Also nice to see a varient of the Boxcar in the air.

themajik1 Thanks Majik! Its awesome to be back in the mix.....best job ever! :)
I lost it when the sunglasses dropped on dusty after that flip XD Whoever's idea that was, you have my personal approval of coolness.
From what I saw online Dipper was a Grumman Goose with a tricycle landing gear setup as opposed to the taildragger setup actual Goose aircraft had. Along with a CL-415 paint job as well.
whoever is flying that lil blackout mini quad is a beast, he got some awesome shots
Man that boxcar plane is awesome
This really is what the hobby is all about.
That Boxcar aircraft is amazing ! Well done.
This is awesome!! Im a HUGE Planes fan I would loooove to see you guys make Blade and Windlifter, the other two helicopters!!
This is what I love about Aviation. When you can share it with friends, have innovative ideas, and just be your plain old fun self. This episode showed good old - FuNovaTioN - at its best! Family, Friends, Food, Fun, and Flying! That's all I need and I'm good.
You guys have way too much fun! Which is exactly what this hobby is all about!
Yes! Peter is awesome! Quietly building greatness. Tall dude is great too. Forgot his name. Tall dude works for now, right? This episode made me very happy, had the spirit of the "old" days. Thank you!!
trickhealey agreed!
That "Goose" looks more like a Canadair CL-215. Great video, Guys!
I think the yellow plane is actually supposed to be a Canadair CL415 Super Scooper. I could be wrong though!
one of the best videos you've ever made.
Please do some more of these crazy builds, they are really good and are cool to watch.
Awesome set of planes, my four year old will be blown away
Josh and gang, you probably will not see this but thank you for the smiles. I always enjoy your videos and so look forward to the next one. Your presence and fellowship abound! Thank you and see you next time.
dito=== some of the best in-flight photography I've seen from you guys!!!
The "deal with it" bit was awesome. You guys are making your production and editing better with every episode: good job!
5:52 Nice touch with the sunglasses! That made the moment there. I laughed.
Good job
you got me to an ad you brat
Yah same
HAH i didnt notice them
@@joe-xk8nl lol
How creative and how fun! You guys are the best !
Thank you for getting me back to the RC community!
I'd love to see you land a small RC plane inside the cargo planes hold WHILE flying! That would be awesome!
Duster: THUG LIFE
Awesome formation flying near the end!
Awesome, nice work and great painting peter

it could also be the CL-215
@@jacksondeford3304 No, because this model has turbine nacelles not the 215 radials.
Great episode, fun to watch.
you should get on to Disney to see if they would sponsor some speed build kits with planes merch included. nice video guys
Nice job guys I really like the AC-119!
I propose a challenge for ft. Seeing how large the cargo plane is, how about a how long can it fly challenge? Explain the build logic, ideas and show us how long the plane could fly
Great vid guys ....nice to see some fixed wing action
Cool planes.
How about a video on advanced multi-rotor design.

Big fan of your show and I have watched all your videos. Thank you guys for what you do!
I dunno, make an Osprey plane that converts in mid air from a multi rotor to a plane.
SUUUUURRRRRREEEEE
StikDan The best animator nhhuhiujo8f
Great episode guys FliteTest
This is the kind of episode you guys would have had when David was still on the show, I love it!
Only windestål would have filled the cup with petrol/gas and lit more fires instead...
You make it feel like planes are easy to make!
cant wait to get the plans for the big one... that be a perfect first timer...
Great video! Loved the planes!
I was particularly impressed with Peter's pain jobs. I'd love to see a "how-to" video on this topic!
Awesome video dudes.
NICE planes to.
That yellow and red plane isn't a knockoff of a Grumman Goose--instead it's a pretty close copy of the Canadair CL-215--a dedicated fire control airplane.

you need to make more like these because these where awsome
Awesome footage Good Job Flying the quadcopter !!!!!! and good job to all of you
Great video! Loved it!!
I'm laughing already, just from the little intro clip. :)
Flyin' Ryan RC yo I watch yo vids
David Bunch Thanks! :)
+Flyin' Ryan RC I have the faze protox and nano qx and there great but I recently purchased the pico and it won't bind to the controller it came with
David Bunch Make sure you turn on the transmitter first. I think I had to do that with mine, whereas with a lot of these other ones you can turn the quad on first.
never heard of this channel and this is the first video I've watched and it's really good, nice job guys
the movie planes 2 did not disappoint. thx fellas.
a speed build kit for the boxcar would be awsome
Cool video! I think the big yellow one is CL-215. That's what we use up here in Canada to fight forest fires.
you're right dipper is a CL-215 flying boat
🚀🛩✈️🛫🛬✈️🛩🚁
Though design seems simple, you captured these planes really well, and nicely filmed too.
you need to go all-in with this challenge and build a water scoop!
This was amazing! I have to build a Grumman Goose myself (can't wait for the plans), but maybe I manage one tiny improvement: the eyes move in the direction of flight :)
Awesome, Now i demand build vid and plans! Keep it up guys!

Hey Chris great video ,thanks sharing
Great video, guys! You got some great formation flying shots in this one. Keep up the good work.

Is the C-119 one of Peter's creations? Simply AWESOME!
Peter designed the water bomber. The C-119 is my design. Plans are free on our site friend. :)

Josh Bixler
Thanks!
This is super cool. I was honestly going to request that y’all try to replicate a functioning CAL FIRE scoop place or helo with bucket
Great show ! I would like Some more heli vids!
Keep it up!

I have not fond any kit or plans for the C-119? is there a speed kit or plans out there i can get???
Sadly no.
U guys should make actual water landers. That would make a great episode FliteTest
Just found you guys great stuff well done
that was awesome if you could just hide some FPV cameras on then without ruining the look that would be the cherry on top
Cool video by adopting the movie into these model airplanes. Peace, Flood!
No ice in the water? For a moment i hoped you where doing the ice bucket challenge.Damn it!
One of the funiest episodes ever! besides, featured planes are awesome!!

Go on!!
Great video as always. Hope you will have plans for these plane . Love the videos keep them coming.
Realy cool paint job good job guys!:-)
Nice drone cam very amazing
