To keep your pipes from freezing, let the water drip from your faucets. Be sure to include a little bit of warm water in the mix. You can also wrap your pipes with a special insulating wrap.
I am so glad I was wrong when I said that you would not be able to retrieve the quad, even with a heli. But I am very glad that you have proven me wrong!
Exciting to watch it being lifted up. Love to see cooperation between humans. Congratulations. And now fixing... hahah.... At least you can say: green check. It won't happen again. Thank you for this update. No worries, you are doing well
Well that's a great outcome. From what we can see, mostly superficial/cosmetic damage. Initially as it was lifted, it looked like also a broken/bent steering arm, but now I see that tyre off the rim, perhaps not. Looking forward to see what it needs and getting back moving itself and you around..
Quads are very good equipment for a farm, they are a workhorse and very effective, but not for a narrow access way where you require good experience to navigate the awkwardness of the property. Good luck with the repairs
Minus -50 degrees fahrenheit with windchill tomorrow afternoon. It's minus -10 fahrenheit here, now. You have to run your water, drip to a mild stream to keep it from freezing overnight. Wet Mountains, Colorado. When it gets this cold, below zero fahrenheit, I have to run a small stream not just dripping. It will still freeze even dripping. Excellent vlog❣️💯💙☮️🥶
Hurrah! The quad is free! That was rather a precise operation. The quad doesn’t look too well - I hope the repairs aren’t too expensive. Might be good to sell it and get an electric cargo bike of some kind.
A couple questions… 1) interested in the cost of the rescue and the repair costs? 2) Is the pedestrian pathway wide enough for the quad so that this doesn’t happen again?
I have seen helicopters used in the Alps to fly in building materials and such, never to rescue a quad, but it is good to see. I hope that you can breath life back into the quad (beats walking from the village) and use it in your improvements at the house/cabin, hopefully with a little less drama.
Great recovery, I think that they use the helicopters a lot for remote building sites as well. One of the other guy's I watch in Italy had his building supplies flown in. Expensive but I think the only thing that you could've done. I hope to see it up and running again soon. Thankfully you didn't go over with it. 🙏❤️🇿🇦
Happy for you, that you got the quad back! Hope it can be repaired 🤞 Just found out about your channel a few days ago. Love what you're doing! ❤️ And it made me go down a rabbit hole, searching for cabins myself... Thanks 😅 All the best, and much love from Germany! Stay safe! 😊
See this is another difference between Martijn Doolard's journey and Matheus journey... Martijn doesn't speak italian so he's always been isolated not only by place but also by language. Matheus speaks great italian with nordic accent. He can befriend anyone in the area including older people.
Yes, this is true. Could never understand why you would not take the time and effort to the learn the basic language of the country you chose to live in. Martijn is obviously an intelligent person and likes to learn new things but in this regard he has resisted. Very unusual. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”.
@@skeena59as I know and heared in a few videos from Martijn he speaks a little bit Italian language. But he also said that languages are not his main strength. He understands more than he is talking.I think that's ok because he isn't such a long time over there yet. And Martijn is mostly hard working on his cabins by his own or with helpers coming from different countrys. So the main usual language is English. We will see and hear when he will speak in ltalian.
I assume it is up to you and others who use path to maintain it or do others in town help. Is it truffle country, looks like you might have to invest in a chainsaw so as to gather enough wood. Big difference with the lights on.
Like what? Roller blades? I think a quad is fine. His only problem was the quad stalled out on him. Although I bet he would have fun with a motorcycle too. It definitely is narrower :)

Wow. What an operation. It's great that you got it out, and I hope that the repairs are straightforward. Will you be able to keep using it, or is it just too wide for the path?
