An early pre-release talkthrough of Native Instruments' Traktor Kontrol X1 Mk 2, demonstrating how the touchstrip works with tracks. The X1 Mk 2 provides improved RGB full color back light, enhanced looping functionality, and would make a great addition to modular or DVS setups. Please note that contrary to what's said in the review, you can actually adjust track tempo using the unit; it was reviewed here minus the instruction manual...What other differences did we find? Include the soundcard, and add a cross fader and you have PURE GOLD!! It would be the ultimate for air bnb parties when you travel.
Feel free to get rid of a few of those filter nobs if there's no room ;)

You can change speed by holding sync and turning the loop encoder knob on the relative deck your trying to adjust the speed to. Simple

Here is my issue.
I love Traktor, I became a DJ for a local dance club, and they had a Kontrol S2 mk1 for DJ use, naturally I decided to learn it and try to get use to it. I got too good at it, as other programs are just kinda ruined for me.
Now I'm looking for my own Traktor set up, and I was thinking the Kontrol Z1, X1, and F1, (to have that wtf setup at the shows.) But I am afraid of buying three items that the only familiarity I'd have with is really the software.
So would it be better to go with the X1, Z1, and F1, or just get my own S2/S4 mk2 for familiarity?
if you hold down sync and twist the looping knob it adjusts tempo on the classic mapping...

Hello! Please with the software installed on the mac book + Kontrol X1 or 2 and I can play without the need of tracktor audio 6/10 plate ...? Or is it necessary to have the card, mac and kontrol?

Yes it will work with serato and any software that allow USB MIDI mapping. hold shift+ both left and right load buttons to enter midi mode.
Great review! Can you use two of these with an z2? Hopefully this would give you control of the two ups and let you use the 2 remix decks on the z2 as line channels. Using the x1's filter to equalise the channel signal. Possible or not? Peace!!!

Hi i have just started learning a month back..my friend gifted his hercules two deck usb controller with low, mid ,high nobs...i dont need the soundcard at this time...do i need a soundcard to attach x1 mk2 with it or can i use it with the second usb ?? it may sound stupid...as i'm not really into it....would appreciate the help
I'm looking at picking up either the X1 or X1mk2 or xone K2 ofcourse if I go NI ill grab an aduio2 also. Just not sure which is the better route. A2 +X1 is cheapest due to sales. A2+X1mk2 is updated,new. And K2 seems a larger offering in a smaller footprint but I'm sure the sound card in the A2 is better. Which would you choose? I'd like something to get me going I have a gig next week, and I'd like to build with it... Hoping to move toward using a decent mixer for external EQ and fx. Thoughts?

Hi Phil, I'm Running Traktor Pro 2 (Latest Version) with the Denon MC3000. Will it be compatible with Traktor Pro or do I need to invest in Scratch pro? Also could I get it to run alongside the Mc3000 in the same software? Thanks for your time :)

So I am using a DDJ-RB with Rekordbox. I am in the position to buy a Traktor Kontrol X1. I might move over to Traktor or use it for Rekordbox. Would it be an extra to buy this midi device? I play in clubs as well where I might use it next to my CDJ's.

Hi phil, do you know any other audio interface apart the audio 2 that i can use with traktor pro 3?
You can use any audio interface with at least "4 out" in its spec (ie 4 mono channels, or two stereo channels). Trakkor doesn't mind the brand, model etc. So there are scores to choose from.
can you map the nobs so they control the high/mid/lows?
Haven't done it but imagine it's possible 👍

How can I change the tempo (bpm) on a track without using the sync button?
You can either do so manually in the software (using the tempo fader) or by holding down flux + sync at the same time and moving the knob encoder left or right to slow down/speed up

Yes, it just becomes a standard midi controller :)

I think the main question here is what do you need it for? You can plug it into a free USB port, alongside an S5 or an S8 but what would be the benefit of this? Why would you need two of them as well? If we can get to the bottom of this, we can try to help! :-)

Hi! I am a beginner dj. I have a Pioneer WeGo, which I bought to help practice basic skills and mixing. Im now looking for something that will help take my mixes to the next level. Currently just considering adding a Tracktor F1 to my WeGo so that I have greater control over effects. Could anyone suggest a good all-in-one controller / mixer + controller combo? I am a student so budget is limited, but am willing to save up if considered to be completely worth it. Any suggestions are welcomed!
Konrad Brennan im not sure if your still looking but the Traktor Kontrol S4 is the best all-in-one mixer. It is even used by professionals ( Zedd, Crizzly and Porter Robinson to name a few). Good Luck man.

I know basically nothing about DJ setups. Can I buy this controller and just plug it straight into my laptop with traktor? Is this all I need?
It doesn't have a built in soundcard, so you'll need some additional hardware to be able to play one track (to the crowd) while listening to the other track in your headphones.

djm 750 has a built in soundcard you would just need to purchase TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2 SOFTWARE & TIMECODE KIT
I am looking for a modular setup i have traktor audio 2 dj soundcard can I use it with traktor kontrol x1 mk2 so i have pre-cueing on one channel of soundcard and master out from the other will this work......and if yes how?? Thanks for help

Just google the name of the device + "Virtual DJ 8" and you'll get your answer - that's all I did when you asked about the X1, we don't certainly don't just remember it all :)
