Looking forward to this from what I’ve read in comments one of their ambassadors laughs at people with honest thoughts, questions, compassions. It comes of as if he’s belittling the competition.
Yes, I have used it to get me up in flat water with a SUP. As soon as I was up I practiced my pumping. All the setting up can be found on the Stoke Website 👍
I must have missed the part where you talked about maintenance! One biggie why I haven’t gone with a FD to date. What part of your video talked about that please. Cheers 👍
really good review.... thanks for making the effort. Was looking at the FD for Wingfoil assist in light winds, but this seems to be better value and still quality and reliability at a lower price and more simple and compact quick attachment.... 3 minutes assenbly is impressive..... i need more for the wetsuit
I notice that you're using a mast base plate shim. Would it be possible to do a Hydrofoil Academy video about shims, especially mast base plate shims -- when to shim for positive and negative rake? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Hand on hart, it was less than 5 knts. Soon after I cut that clip I fell out of the sky. It does look windy on the video, but it was all the wing footage I had.
Thanks for this good review. I am searching for the right Helper for Pumpfoiling/Supfoiling. - Would be great if you could make a comparison between stokefoiling and foildrive gen2...
If you're in North America you will have to purchase an adaptor for the charger since the Australian wall outlets are not compatible with North American wall outlets. I'm not sure about electrical current compatibility -- some issues here about which the Stoke Foil Boost folks did not seem to be cognizant (they are now). A few wrinkles for US/Canadian purchasers that should be addressed or about which they should be notified. Perhaps Stoke could offer an inexpensive proper adaptor for North American purchasers and sidestep any surprises. When I ordered the unit I didn't put my mind to compatibility issues and apparently neither has anyone else -- time to fix this. I guess with any relatively new product sold internationally there are teething issues.
Look, you are adding 4kg so you know it's there when pumping but because all the weight is directly on the mast it feels way less than 4kg. I was impressed with how it felt to pump and glide when not being used.
Maintenance is pretty minimal, mostly just washing with freshwater, checking the bolts and charging the battery. The main issue is keeping the sand out of the battery to unit connection.
Thanks! That’s a really good question and I have asked myself this. I’m not really sure to be honest. I think it’s a sicker and easier to use/assemble. The foil drive is more powerful and can be used as an efoil. Perhaps that’s why.
Well I think it's a great bit of kit, have tried DW boards dinging and find them average fun compared to short, particularly in challenging conditions, just a bit of a boost is often all that is needed to get on foil, a big board is totally unnecessary once on foil, I'd rather have a smaller wing, board and foil once up and have more fun ;) plus if wind goes you can just motor in.
Could you do a simple video of how the hand placement / controller works on a wing? Seems like a challenging setup ergonomically but might be looking at it wrong. Would be great to show close ups of how the hand/thumb control works and switching hands works, etc.
Hi Gav, I’m absolutely loving your videos. Great info and well delivered. Keep on doing what you’re doing 👍
thanks 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love to see a video where you compare this to the foil drive, what you use each for. Now that you have a foil drive do you still use the stoke? Larry
I am planning on doing this, watch this space! Yes, I still do use the Stoke. It all depends on the conditions
How would this product compare to Foil Drive?
We are planning on doing an comparison between the two in the near future. Stay tuned…

Near future?
What is the Warning Signal for Low Battery
(Audio, Flashing Display, Other)?
From memory it flashes, but I’ll get back to you on this.
Controller vibrates. Just got mine a week ago and have 3 sessions.
Can I do flat foiling with a SUP foil board? Is paddle power necessary?
Detailed video of setting procedure
Please upload the video.

I completely agree, other FD require heaps of maintaining. Zero maintenance required other than washing with freshwater after use.
Nice review! Well explained!
Thanks!

Glad it was helpful!

Great suggestion!
How do you carry the board with this system attached?
Hi, thank you. You carry the board same as without. Make sure the remote is switched off before putting the mast over your shoulder.
You could put the transmitter on something like a little mast above the board, no?
I ended up using a slightly bigger board. I am 80kg and my 28L prone sinks. I used a 38L board and it worked perfectly.
I use only water for maintenance after use?
Yes, thats correct. Just wash down with freshwater and that's it!
Nice review and info. Could you show how controller fits on and operates with a SUP paddle. I’m mostly in waves but really dreaming of DW.
Thanks mate. I think they have just released a video showing this. Check out their UA-cam channel, you will see it’s, very strait forward.
That tack at 14:22 doesn't look like no wind 😂

Great suggestion! Only problem is that it’s a very expensive review to do. I’ll see if I can borrow a Gen2 off someone.

Great points. I didn't think of this. I'll be sure to pass this on to Stoke.
Just got mine for US outlets. Comes with 4 adapters for most electrical systems.
Very interesting review. What about the weight and drag added to the foi ?Did you feel a lot of drag when foiling/pumping ?
Look, you are adding 4kg so you know it's there when pumping but because all the weight is directly on the mast it feels way less than 4kg. I was impressed with how it felt to pump and glide when not being used.
Great review, do you know if you can fly with the battery?
Thanks mate. Yes, I believe you can fly with this one!
Not with the standard one but they have a specific travel battery now.
good video. maintance? thx.
Maintenance is pretty minimal, mostly just washing with freshwater, checking the bolts and charging the battery. The main issue is keeping the sand out of the battery to unit connection.
Which e-foil has a cruise control where you can let go? Sounds like a daft idea.
I believe the Foil Dive has this feature.
I see.
Hi ,great review! Its strange how the whole industry has embrace foil Drive you instead of this that looks way simpler, why do you think is that?
Thanks! That’s a really good question and I have asked myself this. I’m not really sure to be honest. I think it’s a sicker and easier to use/assemble. The foil drive is more powerful and can be used as an efoil. Perhaps that’s why.

Totally agree

Will do on the next video. It’s super easy to use on a wing, you just use your thumb of the front hand.
Good
Thanks mate.
AUD 4,500 is pricey, its difficult to understand STOKE's target market, for most Wingers this is the equivalent to a new 3 wing quiver or 2 new SUPs.
Yes, interesting point. It's definitely not a cheap bit of kit.
No pricier than other competitor products though, from what ive seen
