I install doors everyday, contract with Lowe’s. Just a pro tip, pre drill all your holes, the reason is if you don’t you risk cracking or splitting your jamb. This is a great kit btw and it really works. Other than that everything’s perfect.

@@More_Than_Conquerors agreed, really sucks it’s not a clear cut clean install, they don’t mention the armour makes everything too thick and will cause scrubbing, it takes some work and every install is different based on reveal and door jamb. It’s kinda one of those figure it out kinda deals lol.

Great product. Simple and effective. It’s changed since I bought and installed about 11 or 12 years ago at my last home. Install was easier and its just as secure. Kicking myself for waiting 3 years to install at my current home. The door side lock re-enforcement didn’t quite fit but I have metal doors so that doesn’t concern me. The jamb and hinges are the weaker points at my home. With the post-pandemic global economy what it is, crime will definitely go up. Thinking about it? Get it.

How good are mini door shields? They don't apply any force to holding the door together and seeing as the screws are in the front any force applied is to the sides I would think they would bend if enough force is used I don't understand the physics of how that works

That is because the individual that filmed this somehow lost the clip of me installing the Jamb Shield. It is definitely installed on this door and the door closes. The caveat is that you must have enough clearance to fit 2 quarters between the Jamb and the door. Otherwise, you should use our PRO Door Armor, which has a different door shield.

    • @armorconceptsdoorarmor263

2 quarters of clearance between your door and the door frame. However, the only area where the 2 quarters is important is the area where the lock goes into the door frame. 1 quarter of clearance everywhere else is fine.

The instructions are not the greatest and missing important information. I watched several videos. They should warn people to not only check for clearance, but if your door trim can be removed. obviously my new drill isn’t good enough which is why I couldn’t screw in the door shields I’ll try pre-drilling which they need to suggest. I just heard him say to use a tap drill but I’m not paying $400 for a drill.

MY GOD. You are BRILLIANT! They can also cut a hole in the wall or roof (Tom Cruise). They could come down the chimney (Santa). However, the first thing that every thief tries is the door, which is why 85% of break-ins are through a door. Windows, believe it or not, are more difficult and they make noise. Glass breaking is much different than someone kicking in a door, which sounds like a car door closing. Anyway, just leave your door unlocked and see if they go through your window. If you don't reinforce your doors (with this or something else) you might as well just leave them open. It takes less than 10 seconds to kick in most doors. You could die if you fasten your seatbelt but it's still a pretty good idea. Even with an airbag.

@ Cory Boyd it takes just a split second to kick in most doors, I’d like more time to get my gun. That’s if I’m home, but when I’m not home, my dog is not my first line of defense. Personally, I think it’s worth it to reinforce your entry points. the standard screws and hardware in common doors are lacking. Make somebody work for it to break in maybe they’ll move on that’s why I bought security film from my windows. Do you know how many people come home to find their front doors been kicked open? Don’t you think that they’re gonna do something a little different when they fix it?
