It’s after August 2023 now and it sounds to me (welcome to the team ) is that I’m hired, but I’m going to take a drug screen test. Knowing that I had consumed some cannabis a week before the job was offered to me, And Knowing I’m going to fail. legally can the employer take back the offered? 😢Minnesota

The problem in Federal law is in their Scheduling Marijuana a full Class above Fentanyl while Marijuana has been found to be Medically useful for several treatments like MS, Epilepsy, Cancers, even PTSD... The impetus of the "War on Drugs" and Federal Prohibition has for years has largely been associated with the "Opioid Crisis" and the high deathrates tied to the illegal use of Fentanyl...
Further, to make that point, Marijuana use is not known to have caused death from illegal, legal, recreational or medical uses... However, Fentanyl being legal for use medically in all 50 States has been well known to have a high potential risk for deaths and even higher with it's availability from both noncompliant transfer of those who obtain it for excepted medical reasons as well as illegal availability...
Our DEA having authority to License Doctors, Pharmacists and many other drug prescribing Professionals is questionable because Law Enforcement's Discipline and Training is not oriented around Medical or Pharmaceutical Treatments... Law Enforcement has also a history of Corruption and problems with Transparency Issues... A greater good and better healing environment would be enabled by the licensing authority being placed in the hands of Professionals educated in the Sciences of Medicine and Medical Treatments!!! These individuals come naturally with gifts in the Moral Codes necessary as a self-policing/governing group of highly educated professionals and Law Enforcement can always be accessed if need be...
