If I was an employer, I would use only blood testing as it only detects what has been in your blood for about 12 hours. Metabolites (which can last weeks) should not be tested for.

Just because someone smokes weed every other weekend or something does not mean they have a problem with substance abuse. Plus even if they did, weed is relatively harmless and as long as you are totally sober at work there should be no reason to drug test you. Especially not when these tests can see drug use from literally months ago! Go forbid you smoke a bowl 3 months ago, but if you show up to work hungover every day after getting completely wasted every night hey it’s no problem!
They should do mouth swap tests for pre employment. It gives an employee opportunity to still enjoy their weed on weekends while providing a deterrence to smoking weed on the job.

The mouth swab test takes 5 minutes and is much easier for getting pure saliva. Which means fewer cheaters and more working people.

I have been in the industry for 25 years, I have never came across a false positive when the testing was done correctly at a certified laboratory with a certified medical review officer (MRO)

If you pass that test, but fail an unregulated test such as a hair follicle test not formally recognized by dot, the only thing they can do is report you to a private company called DAC which is a website trucking companies to trash their employees

And it would be easy if I had the money to afford to not be around them.. But if you don't have any money your stuck. And how is that fair.

If it is a DOT test, it can follow you to next DOT company. For non-DOT testing, the test does not follow you.

I think it stays in the system for department of transportation jobs up to five years, or passing a test to have it removed.

i took a oral test today , random And i took couple lines of coke 50 hours before , while waiting for my results should i aproach my employer and be honest with them and say the results may come back postive , or should I just wait to hear back from the MRO?

It's a grey area. Yes you can test positive for them but cannot be under the influence of pain meds at work. Know what I'm saying?
question? I failed a drug test and was fired from work. I went to a DOT drug and alcohol class to revoke my twic card. years later I failed a hair drug test, but never bother to go back or fix it at that time. would my card be suspended by failing the test the second time and is there a level of suspension on this twic card? I am trying to go back to the oil field and hoping that I can still work in the oil field even if I was marked 2 times. If theres anybody who has been in this situation and made It back please let me know for witch i am trying to make money again lol and never smoke weed again !!!!!

If you ever drank alcohol once or on the weekends, did any drug in your life, you are not qualified to make a determination on somebody else life on their off time. particularly if no proof of substantial risk. I think you need sap, so you can be judged , and your lively hood is reduced to the minimum. Perhaps a store cashier clerk. After all you did abuse alcohol one time.
