Your painting is lovely! The watercolor set is very nice for crafters and people who aren’t interested in pigments and lightfastness etc. Actually as I was writing the comment you said it in the video LOL!
Thank you so much, Shadow! Hahaha, great minds think a like! That is so funny we both thought it at the same time. Yes, I thought this would be great for my daughter, as she could care less. But, I've already spoiled her with Schmincke, Daniel Smith and Sennelier...so I'm not sure if she would actually use it. It's a fun kit though! Thanks so much for making me laugh! 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 I agree. Nothing wrong with student grade paints, but if a person starts with professional paints there isn’t any point to using student grade. 😌
That is exactly how I feel. I'm not sure how to say it nicely, and I feel I'm often pickier than most people. But, a lot of people love their budget sets. So whatever makes people happy makes me happy. 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 My first proper curated palette was the Paul Rubens 12 half pan pink palette. Then I was hooked on watercolors. Had to then explore different pigments and different brands. 😂
@shadowguard3578 Aw, that was a pretty good set to start with! I tried really bad watercolor set, in 2012 when someone on YT recommended a set from Michaels. They were chalky and made me think I hated watercolors. Luckily, I tried again many years later with Gansai Tambi watercolors. I was hooked and had to try all the brands! Lol Btw, UA-cam changed how they present comments, again... I don't see follow up posts now without searching. So if I don't answer a follow up comment, that is why. I try to go look, because I love our art chats. I only see new comments easily now. ;(
Thank you for the honest review! I have the paints already, I’m still tempted as the kit looks great! 😅 It was lovely to see a bit of your view and drawing. I would love to see more of your plein air paintings! You have grown so much as an artist, it’s very inspiring! ❤
Thank you!! Yes, it is a lovely little set. I love to use it outside. The case is sold separately on Amazon. I've linked it so you can see the name. They have lots of colors too! I love the pink case, of course. 💗
Great review Stephanie! That looks like a great starter kit for someone contemplating watercolor painting, without wanting to spend a small fortune on Professional watercolor paints. I like the fake suede sketchbook, but it would be more practical if the manufacturer used a different style of hole punch for the sketchbook. I have a standard 3-ring hole punch, but not the multiple hole kind. So to replace the watercolor paper in the sketchbook would be a big pain, unless I bought that particular kind of hole punch. I also like the latching notebook, but I too would wonder how durable the plastic latch would be in the long run, under repeated use.
Thank you so much, Cheryl! I agree completely. I really enjoy the paper inside and have been surprised how much I reached for it. I do already have a hole punch that works though, that I used with my planners. I will pass on your feedback to Paul Rubens. I'm hoping they offer the paper refills with the holes already punched, personally. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, as always! 💗
Stephanie I thought it was just me who was having trouble replying to comments. I thought I was being targeted!!!! 😂 So now I know it’s YT messing around. My mistake, I forgot that my first ever palette was 25-30 years ago. So I’m not a spring chicken 😂!!! It was a W&N Cotman 12 full pan palette. Yes it’s that old it’s a full pan set made in the UK. Fast forward 25-30 years and my second curated palette is the Paul Rubens 12 half pan palette. My fuzzy brain. Anyway, my W&N Cotman set is now an antique. Well it is to me. 😅
Bahahaha!!! Yes, once again YT is messing around. It's incredibly frustrating. I'm not sure if people see my response either. I'm no YT expert though. I try really hard to answer everyone who has taken the time to comment. But, now I won't see follow up comments. ;( Oh wow, you were so lucky to the W&N Cotman when they were still good! I'm no spring chicken either. Lol You have a vintage palette, and I bet it's valuable on the resale market. I'm sure it is one of your treasures! 💗

You are so welcome! I have a plans for painting plein air soon! Thank you so much!! Thanks for the request and encouragement to share them. 💗
It looks so nice! I would've definitely bought this if it came without the paint

@@TheGypsyChic1 thank you!
My pleasure!

Thank you so much! 💗
Please do more paintings 👍
Thank you for the request! I have a new video painting an owl. 💗

I’m having difficulty replying to people but no problem making a brand new post. This is odd I found no difficulty replying to myself!

That is really weird?!? I'm sure it is just a glitch? Maybe they are working the bugs out still.
@ yes it’s a treasured possession and it sits happily in a drawer in the company of other watercolors.
I bet they are beautiful paints!! Before W&N sold out.
