PINK FLOYD is one of the few things that made me hold on to life when I was a depressed, disliked, misfit teenager. Being fascinated with the music, I was like 'hey there is someone else out there, feeling like me' while reading the lyrics. I am 56 now an I am still deeply in love with their music.

Me too.
In the heart of a sprawling, bustling city, a man named Pink lived a life shrouded in isolation and emotional turmoil. His days were a blur of alienation, a never-ending cycle of despair and disillusionment. His name was a simple one, but his inner world was as complex and twisted as a maze of dark alleyways.
Pink was a rock musician, but his rise to stardom only deepened the chasm between him and the world. As he toured the globe, the cacophony of cheering crowds and the trappings of fame only served to intensify his sense of estrangement. He felt like a puppet, a commodity, and the only way he could protect himself was to build an impenetrable wall around his emotions. It was a wall made of bricks, each representing a painful memory, an emotional scar, or a traumatic experience.
As Pink's life spiraled further into despair, his inner wall grew taller and thicker. His marriage crumbled, his relationships disintegrated, and he descended into a world of drug addiction and paranoia. It seemed as though his life was unraveling, and the wall he had built was pushing him deeper into his own psychological abyss.
Pink's wall, however, was not an impenetrable fortress. It had cracks, vulnerabilities, and moments of vulnerability that allowed fragments of his past to seep through. These fragments took the form of haunting visions and memories, like a war film playing in the background of his mind. The war that had scarred his father, his own descent into madness, and the crushing weight of his guilt for the pain he had caused to those around him were all etched into the bricks of his wall.
Amid the turmoil, Pink found solace in his music. He began to pour his pain and confusion into his songs, which served as a form of catharsis and self-expression. He wrote an album that would later become his magnum opus, "The Wall." The album, a rock opera, served as both a reflection of his personal torment and a cry for help.
"The Wall" told the story of Pink's life and the wall he had built around himself. It explored themes of war, alienation, fame, and personal transformation. The music was a blend of rock, progressive, and conceptual, echoing the turmoil of Pink's mind.
In the climactic moment of the album, Pink's emotional wall crumbled. He realized that his isolation and bitterness were destroying him, just as the wall had consumed his life. It was a moment of reckoning, a painful yet necessary epiphany. Pink decided to tear down his emotional fortress and face the world, his past, and himself with vulnerability and openness.
The story of "The Wall" was a journey of self-discovery, healing, and redemption. Pink's realization that he needed to break down the barriers he had constructed around his heart marked a turning point in his life. It was a testament to the power of art and self-expression in confronting our inner demons and finding a way to connect with the world.
As the final notes of the album played, Pink stood on the stage, stripped of his metaphorical wall and exposed to the world. The audience, once distant and anonymous, now felt a profound connection to the man behind the music. It was a powerful moment of catharsis, not only for Pink but also for those who had been following his journey.
"The Wall" was a timeless masterpiece, not just for its music but for the story it told-a story of a man who built a wall to protect himself from the world and, in the end, found a way to tear it down and let the light in.

I tell you looking back I was very lucky to be a teen during the release of many classic records in the 70's and 80's. I remember when this came out in 1979, I was 15 and in 9th grade. This was when the weed started to flow and girls etc. What a great time. We didn't have cell phones all we had were those sony boom boxes and cassette tapes. I wore out the tape it became mangled in the cassette space. True story. never to be repeated again this music. Gilmour with those haunting chords and Roger with the heavy base riff.

Best Pink Floyd album ever. It helped me through depression in younger age
At its heart, this is a story. And for any story - conflict, particularly of the emotional kind, has always been the most important element. And definitely the most important to me. I bow to these storytellers. They remind us of the conditions we can experience as living beings. We cannot grow with conflict. We cannot become more than we are without the necessary damage that living can bring to us. It is only a hope that we can survive with the heroism that other sufferers may inspire in us - that we may build a foundation on - and teach future generations what the key to the continuance of the human species is: Always more hope. Where there is breath, there is hope. And life.
Wow ...breathe....breathe🎉

Peoples says that in the more hundred years it will be classic music and I fully agree.
Pink Floyd have no age, is eternal.
Thanks for 50 years of music with lyrics that are still pertinent in our world today 🎸
Specially if you live in Ukraine. Gotta bring the Russian b bear to his knees
The Wall is a sensational piece of art and my favourite song is comfortably numb !!❤❤❤❤❤ Thank u Mr Rogger Waters for this magical album.
Your comment is one -g, one exclamation point, and four hearts too long.

Wonderful replies from fellow fans!
, what's up,shouldn't say that?
This was the second pink floyd album I ever listened to. I listened to dark side first and I thought that was amazing and beautiful, which it obviously was and still is, but this is just on another level. Dark side is still my second favorite, but this album has it's very own throne in my heart.
How you surpass one album with another is beyond me. Music now is nothing compared to this
Pink Floyd complex musical scores and live and studio performances are indeed masterpieces of music. No wonder they recorded at Abby Road.

This Music is some of the most Devine art. It is the language of sorrow, grief and despair. It has been a great source of healing, for the most of my life❤
FOREVER FLOYD.
So many memories and nostalgia when listening to these classics, good music never dies. Greetings from France 😍
It's too bad that this was the end of Pink Floyd as a band...but what a way to go out, huh?
One of the BEST CONCERTS I was ever to witness.
Saw it twice that week in L.A...February, '80...Ticket was $15.
Best 15 bucks ever spent!
..quelle chance ! Vu d’Europe , c’est loin ! J’admire autant Pink Floyd !

Hey old timers. I'm St Pete and 60 years old in the flesh. Every time I listen to it it's like playing my air guitar again.:)
I have been a Pink Floyd fan since I was 13 and first listened to Dark Side of the Moon, so much talent such a great band and The Wall is amazing and was my forst concert I ever went to, Nassau Collosium NY 1980 thus destroying any other Bands attempts to put on a show that was better. Now I am 56 and I just turned my Niece who is 17 onto Pink Floyd, started her with Dark Side then went in order all the way through Final Cut to say she is hooked would be an understatment. Pink Floyd, saving the next generation from the music they got stuck with.
Same here bro.. Listening to Pink Floyd for years. Never gets old. Have a blessed dude. . Hello s from Huntington Beach Surf City , California.
I can’t help smiling at the fact that PF’s music is the music of my life. I am 74 and I can remember laying on my back and listening to the music and was fascinated by the music, it took me to the edge and left me there suspended on a note. They are the fabric of your grandparents life.
I am right there with you, my friend ❤️
year i was born 1979 i was brought up listening to pink floyd my dad loved them now ♥♥♥
I'm 60 years young and I go through a lot of emotions whenever I listen to The Wall that I feel like I've been born again but I mostly shed tears because I can relate to just about every song on this album. What an emotional gauntlet. I feel exhausted .

For me, this is the best album in the history of rock !!!😀😀😀💗💗👍👍👍

Not the greatest
That' my 7th favourite Floyd album, but it was the first I bought so have a lot of love for it.
In my humble opinion, there will never be another album or band as good as The Wall. And Pink Floyd. I have listened to it many hundreds of times, as well as most of their other many many great albums.
One of there best albums ,love Pink Floyd

Yeah fantastic album. but have to agree. with you the yanks. have not stopped fighting wars since 1940 after the 2nd World war and dropping 2 Atomic Bombs on Japan they have not stopped being at war ever since not good eh
My older brother (13 yrs older) Gave me this Album on my 13th Birthday (1979) I was into the disco/dance music at the time
My brother died 18 months later, and that was probably the first time I listened to this album. Needless to say, its one of my most listened to Pink Floyd album and my most cherished 33 1/3 ❤ Miss you big bro!!

After listening to "The Wall" I love to go straight into "The Final Cut" it's a beautiful part 2 that helps to give even more reason and meaning to the story. It's kinda like a back story I guess and it's every bit the quality and a great continuing to "The Wall" Give it a try if u haven't listened .
@@poolhouseproduction9607 In the dictionary under 'Melancholy', there should be a picture of 'The Final Cut'. That album is a master piece. I know it's not a real Pink Floyd album but I still count it as one of my favorites. I listen to it probably once a year. I can't listen to it more than that because it brings me to absolute tears every time.
Absolfuckinglutely Brilliant through 2023!!!
I was taken to my first concert when I was 3, love my parents for that early intro. Very deep album, They are in my blood, when I figured out this was about one man's journey and unfortunate outcome it really blew my mind, ofcourse I was 14
life can be an unfortunate outcome to the best of us
Pliss!!!
The Wall (79).

One of my all time favorite albums! I don't know how they come up with this! It still sends chills down my spine when I listen to it
Agreed. It's one of my favorite albums, too. As well as the majority of PF fans
Dope came up wit it
Each song has a story from singing about being belittled by there teachers n there strictness to there parents n grandparents scarred from the war or didn't come back at all to drug spiralling rock band who are struggling to hold on to realty but from doctor to doctor prescribing drugs to keep the show going on as they lock there sanity and insecure personal sides away by building walls round themselves, Sid Barrett was a man who went too far with drugs and was a known abuser of LSD and many other drugs but was never the same after going missing then found with so much going downhill like his health n mental health n the song talking about how great he is isn't on this album but mind he played drums n was a great drummer but took it too far with consumption and sadly never the same😢,Roger Waters a hope you know is the reason Floyd broke up as he wanted to do his Radio Waves album n that's no problem but he talked about his band like they where a product of success of him n that's not true as Dave Gilmour wrote n Co wrote just about all the songs on this album n Waters also done great music but any music he done with the band he wanted pulled from touring as he felt it wasn't right to be done n sung without ridiculous money being paid to his production company in USA,no Dave wasn't doing that n had support from the other members in the band some songs sadly had to be put aside as they were owned by Waters n they refused to pay the money,so Waters had took the case to court n it was bitter but he got no money and his music wasnt played, happily might a add as Gilmour knew he would struggle without them n he was right Waters done one good album but he never wrote the masterpieces he did or anywhere near for that matter as he needed Floyd and he loved the attention at the start of will you go back to Floyd will you won't you but Floyd didn't want him back as there was too much Water under the bridge😅, but years later n no success with songs or albums anywhere near the bands level he was doing interviews as if will I won't I go back but they didn't want him and it was over 20years before they shared the same stage n it was for charity n again he played up to a was in talks with the band n am thinking about going back he said, Gilmour laughed at hearing this and being the modest man he is he told a music journalist that it was the first he is hearing of a another reunion never mind coming back,he took so much money from them to continue playing songs n it was never going to happen as Waters sold out his friends by thinking he was better than he really was as he needed the band to create songs we know n love but Gilmour still came up with new stuff n it was brilliant Floyd so why take back a cancer to the band, not going to happen as he hurt them bad by selling out n going against them so there is a lesson in there kids?, don't fuck your friends in a successful rock band😅
this band's creations are indeed mysterious
❤
Excellent quality of music. They have been part of my life so I have never grown older.
