Hey Fellow Brit from the Midlands here!! Been to Saudi 4 times for religious purposes but I loved Jeddah especially the Corniche and Ar-Rahma Floating Mosque. Jeddah is also the gateway for pilgrims going to Makkah. Although I know non-muslims are not allowed to go to Makkah but I think you can visit Madinah although you need to check with the officials regarding this.
I was born and raised in Jeddah😀😊i was there from 1985 to 1998 ...it brings back fond memories seeing these places again😊 my family and I used to fish at corniche... and i remember going to Al Balad and seeing this huge skyscraper😀 i was actually waiting to see if it showed up in your video😀 and yes that fountain😊 i remember we used to Try and spot it in the distance when driving around😊my eldest sis used to fool my siblings and i into thinking it was her fountain😀the giant cycle too (monument).. and we believed her :/ haha..i hope you enjoy your time there..it has changed alot since we were there😊 stay safe. Food here is an opportunity! to try something different is an opportunity! and it is truly DELICIOUS. I would advise foursquare Application it will show you all sorts of restaurants and cafes. if you are staying in Saudi for long time then get to know some of them, majority have been in Britain and many other places around the world and are educated you will respected and honored and you might go to trips to near by oasis. I am soo sorry you had to drink milk. BTW majority of ppl here don't know the difference between Vegan and Vegetarian so make sure you let them know that you not only don't eat meat but also you don't use Dairy product. Best wishes...
