I have worked and lived in KSA and can’t say nothing but good things. People are extremely friendly and helpful, the country is well organized and you generally get professional service at all levels.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the top 5 places I want to visit. I have watched hundreds of hours of documentaries, on the country and region, on the culture and its history, it seems like such an amazing and wonderful place. The people always seem like the most kind and caring people in the world. It's very unfortunate that most Americans only know what they've seen on the news, or worse, ideas they've formed in their heads.

And bless your kids hearts, I HATED sailing at their ages BUT my parents were just like you, Keith and Renee. They knew what was best for me and, in turn, I did what I was told. Well done. You’re going against the grain and it’s, clearly, working. Fair winds and following seas. Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us!

Diving in the Rea Sea is supposed to be SPECTACULAR!!! I can't wait you see your videos of that! Excited to see the new crew members join Zatara. If you’re going to dive the Red Sea. Go on a live aboard and do the Northern wrecks and reefs. Egypt is kinda a dump out side the marinas. Great episode.
Gosh, your catchy theme song puts me right at the time of isolation for two weeks during the onset of the pandemic … it’s when I discovered your channel and I loved it so much… still do.
I suggest you watch other travel channels that travel to places where others may have a negative preconceived opinion. I’ve been shocked at how many places, as an American, I would’ve never gone only to learn they’re extremely welcoming, hospitable, kind people.
@@jillhallisey6290 It’s not quite prejudice. The issue, is that western media paints Saudi Arabia in a very negative light. A lot of Middle East and parts of Asia are that truly just aren’t as scary as western media would have you believe. You can only have the perspective you’ve seen. That’s why channels like this are so fundamental in letting people get different perspectives. Your language is a bit shaming in nature, which you shouldn’t shame someone for admitting they’ve beaten a preconceived notion.
I've just recently started watching...and to be honest any free moment the last few days I've been watching. So this is my first new release as a viewer. Was excited to share with my husband. His UA-cam is filled with bow hunting & handguns. It's our intention to own a good chunk of land where we can hunt, fish and forage. We are working hard to get there.
I am happy that you have had a very good impression about my country Saudi Arabia. We are welcoming everyone to visit Saudi Arabia. We a have a lot to see .....
Absolutely loving your journey. A big smile came across my face as I saw your initial feelings about going into an Islamic country and the reality of going into an Islamic country--I got to relive how I felt my first time as an American. The kindness, hospitality, and first class services can't be beat. I personally haven't been to Saudi Arabia, but you'll find exactly the same thing in Doha, Qatar or Abu Dhabi, UAE. I go to SE Asia often and fly Qatar Airlines purposely (or Emirates to Abu Dhabi) because the airline is awesome and to spend a few days in Doha or Abu Dhabi because the people are incredible and the food is delicious. Thx for sharing. Can't wait to see the new crew members and your adventures in Egypt.

Arab hospitality is without equal in the world. I lived in the UAE, in the Ras AL Khamiah Emirate, in a villa surrounded by Emiratis. The kindest and most wonderful people.
Watching you guys for a couple of years very entertaining thank you ! Be safe ! ❤
Diving in the Rea Sea is supposed to be SPECTACULAR!!! I can't wait you see your videos of that!
Excited to see the new crew members join Zatara. Should add a lot of new depth to videos as we get to know each of them. I might be as excited as you guys are.
This was another wonderful video, Renee! You have improved so much since 2016. I believe you've achieved Grand Master status.
I just love everything from this channel. Mr Whitaker is my favorite for smart and outgoing with the entire family.
The adventure continues…what a fantastic channel!
I like this off-the-beaten-path way you're going. Unknown territory! Texas Roadhouse in Saudi Arabia was hilarious! We were just at the one in our home town of Rockwall recently. You guys are a LONG ways from Texas.
I'm a Saudi who lived in the states for 8 years as a student, Not only nearly all American restaurant chains are present here in Saudi, but having tried both, I can confidently say the food/service quality in the Saudi franchises are so much higher than the US.
You are probably doing some goodwill for their tourist trade, with folks thinking it's scary there. Nothing but good news, very hospitable, friendly people. Can't wait to see some diving footage. Put the mask and fins on mom, show us some new underwater critters.

Sorry I didn’t catch your message earlier.. I hope everything is going good with you .
KSA is a wonderful country with amazing ppl - i visit regularly. Changing very quick but retaining its cultural charm. Very misrepresented by Western media.
4:09 Keith: " It's great food, it's almost like Mexican food. What are we eating here?"
Ahmed: " That's a burrito, and those are enchiladas..." 😂
I rather live in Riyadh Saudi Arabia than in the USA now because I felt safer there even my kids. It's safety, it's holiness, culture, religion and food.
You, your family and friends are always welcome in Saudi Arabia 🙏🏼 🇸🇦
That's true
It wasn’t like this 20yrs ago . Beautiful now and very welcoming. Thank you for sharing
The world is constantly 🤷♂️
Jeddah is an awesome city. Al balad is wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it.
When I lived in Saudi in the late 90's, there was no tourism allowed. So cool that has evolved since then.
I'm glad you guys had a good experience. I have very fond memories of the place and found the people to be very welcoming and friendly.
I’m glad you guys felt this way about jeddah and Saudi Arabia and enjoyed it!!!
it’s a safe and welcoming country And we’re really known for our hospitality and i hope you visit us again.
Wish you a great and entertaining trip to Egypt 🙏🏻💕
It's truly a beautiful country and such wonderful people. I hope to visit one day.
Id love to visit but Im scared of pirates getting there .
الصراحة انا فخور في تعاملنا معهم

I fell off from following you guys for a while and was reminded at what a beautiful well-rounded family this is. Good for you going on this adventure and changing the course of your lives. Much respect!
So happy to see that you enjoyed your staying in Jeddah guys. You are always welcome
My father worked for a company and I lived in Jeddah and Dhahran. Things are changing and hoping they continue to get better.
looks awesome. the guy that greeted you on arrival looks like he's great at his job
We are at the JYC now. Same beautiful experience. Marina is great. People are fantastic. Still not a place to do major reparations on boat but over all is a 10/10
Stumbled over your channel last week and just adore your beautiful family. Also am obsessed with sailing the world now, definitely must have been a pirate in a past life or something, much love from the UK! :)
it is amazing how America portrays Saudi Arabia to us, fortunately y'all are showing us first hand what it's all about..............thank you.
Just binged and finally got caught up the other day - quite the experience being a fly on the wall in your exciting lives!
Papa and Momma Bear made an absolutely monumental decision in this lifestyle, and we are here to experience it. Top tier stuff here folks!
The boys sure were excited about high speed unlimited internet 😆
Hey it’s the little things you realize you take for granted when you’re away from civilization for so long!
@@SailingZatara por favor ! Podrían activar traducción a español? Son muchos los seguidores españoles que no entendemos inglés.
U can say that again
@@SailingZatara Your videos are too short. That's a compliment 😉 Perhaps you could post a couple of videos around the same time. Seems like UA-camrs do not want to make their videos too long, and I usually agree, as most people have limited time to view them. But, a couple of 20 minute videos would be great. Great content, Rene, and your skills are always improving!
@@SailingZatara Great trip & vid. What are the fuel prices in the Middle East? thx.
Your tour guides did a great job having you try the culture food. Best food in the Middle east = so healthy too!!
Thank you for the amazing videos, they are so entertaining! It’s so cool watching you guys travel to different countries!
It made me cry, the hospitality, amazing.
Having spent several months in Saudi Arabia back in the 1990s, it's nice to see things have indeed changed for the better!
It never changed these people never changed since 1500 yeqrs, it's just fox news propaganda
Saudi Arabia in 1990 and now in 2024 180 degrees changed
What an incredible trip to share with your kids!
One of the best channels on UA-cam. Thanks so much for sharing your Story 👍
Very excited you got to see Jeddah! I lived there several years and saw women get the right to drive. Great city to spend some time in 🙂 I will say the new visa system is a game changer, you would not have been able to do what you did just a few years ago
your videos just get better all the time thank you
If you’re going to dive the Red Sea.
It's nice when you have a negative preconceived idea about a place and you are surprised with how nice it really is. That is the wonder of travel.
Why would you have a negative opinion when you have never been there. That’s prejudiced
I adore this family they are open minded and very friendly super sweet and kind all of them are very sweet
Always welcome to Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🇸🇦😍😍😍
I love the shots of the ocean. Even the sound of the waves is very soothing. Thank you!
I said it awhile ago in one of your videos when you asked about Saudi that you guys would enjoy it. We hope to see you again in Jeddah, safe travels.
Oh man, love this channel. Been looking forward to this latest video for days.
Hope Egypt is good to you... Saudi Arabia was so welcoming, glad you found a friendly port in these crazy times 🤩
This is by far one of the most informative episode ever, well done guys, God Speed
A beautiful country and so generous generally. You should have done a trip along the coast would have loved to follow that
I've just recently started watching...and to be honest any free moment the last few days I've been watching. So this is my first new release as a viewer. Was excited to share with my husband. His UA-cam is filled with bow hunting & handguns.
It's our intention to own a good chunk of land where we can hunt, fish and forage. We are working hard to get there.
Any islamic country you will find this welcoming and helpful people, this is what our religion teaches us. Not what the media tells you. Peace 🤲🏼
I know Jeddah and Riyad since 1975 when I visited the first time. The change is amazing. I liked the people and the country.
NB: Wish you always one hand of water under your keel. Enjoy
Great video - one of your best. Love the hatch story, I hope the solo sailor is OK. Thanks
Hey guys just wanted to tell you I really enjoy your videos. You are all such a beautiful family.Thankyou for taking us on your journeys. Wishing you many safe and happy journeys.😊
Saudi Arabia is an awesome American friendly place. I loved it
Renee Im glad you decided to put yourself in more of the vids. My fam traveled the world too & I was the historian/filmographer, so I purposely stayed out of the vids. I kno your vid skills have "improved" but I really enjoy watching the old vids bc 1) they are interesting & 2) it was your life at that time. All the vids are good! 👍

Wow, it’s been a while since I caught up with the Zitara crew; the kids have grown so much!

What’s the difference between Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
The people of Dubai don’t like The Flintstones, but the people of Abu Dhabi do.

I am so glad I found your site. I spent twenty-two years in the U.S. Navy and sailed in all the areas of the red sea and the med that you have been in. I never made it to Australia or New Zealand. I went to Hawaii and the Panama Canal and Alaska on Princess Cruises. I miss being at sea, not so much the Haze Gray's but the sea itself. Once again I look forward to watching your videos.
