Reset Service Interval “Oil Light” Reminder On 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX… Disable Auto Shut Off!

- Yesterday, after changing the oil at home, I decided to finally research how to make this message go away! All the tutorials I followed that told me to hold the “OK” button for 5 seconds on the Service Interval menu resulted in other messages popping up INSTEAD of the “confirm reset” prompt. In this video, I will demonstrate the steps I used to finally reach the elusive confirmation screen!
Background: After our last couple oil changes, the service interval counter wasn’t reset. Because of this, our 2021 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX greeted us with a -10,000 miles service message EVERY TIME we started the car! To me, it seems like there are a few intentional distractions in the way to prevent someone from resetting the countdown when it has been neglected for too long. I have no confirmation of this theory, but it would make sense that Kia would want to preserve that kind of warning if someone brings in their vehicle for warranty work concerning engine lubrication.

Thanks! Every other internet spot left out the holding in of the "ok" button.
Thank you so much! I couldn’t figure out how to reset this for a long time.
Thank you
Thanks for sharing. Question…? I just got my Sorento hybrid and I noticed that orange engine light that I see on your dashboard. Should I be concerned..?
Not when the car is off. If the light is glowing while you’re driving, then stop somewhere and get it checked. Most auto parts stores are happy to do it for free as long as they’re not too busy-just let someone know you’d like them to read a code/check engine light.
My 2022 Hybrid EX with the "upgraded" screen shows the Interval Reset under "Convenience"...don't ask me why.
Same. Can't figure it out
The Auto-Shutoff resets every single time you turn the car off and turn it back on...
I believe you are correct, yes.
