Would have been interesting if you let Mic talk about all the fins and how they felt and what changes there were in each in the series.

I was a fan of FCS 2 and rode them for ages, but unfortunately after jumping on Futures, I realised they are a better system. They feel more plugged into the board, and overall a smoother ride. Its a minimal difference, but one worth noting. In saying that FCS 2 exceeds in education around fins, simplicity of choice, very user friendly and easy to decide on a fin. Selecting which Futures fin is more confusing.

Shhhhhh...😮😂 He rode Speeedfins while riding glass-ons !!! Remember that bad photo-shopped ad they drew SFins over the glass-ons ? That was an epic marketing fail 😂

I was also thinking it be amazing to surf a cross between mick and Joel and what that template would look like? Then i realised there was Andy Irons who has best of both there styles and his template sits right in the middle i think. Bring back his template with a little more surface area and mabey a smaller trailer be a winner i recon.

Would love MF’s opinion on how the MR single concave to double concaves go? Also has he used a more flexible fin in this board.

What's up with the background music?

Whaaaaa, I don't remember my quad having it's fins so close together like that, and I also remember them being at more of an angle facing outwards rather than vertical, hence why, I found, it was that much looser than my tri...this was late 80s/early 90s though but, what's the purpose of them being so close then? Isn't that encouraging drag?

Does anyone ride the mediums at 157lbs? The area looks small for me but the large goes way up in sizing(total area).

Keen to get some answers on this aswell when to go medium vs large when you are subject to both ranges. I know some people go large for small waves for the drive and speed.

@@Ronny439 @peters219 I’m 157lbs ish and I ride large mfs the black and white ones you have to learn to use them but once you do you can surf much better and when the waves get above 4-6ft hawai I ride the green future jjfs on a ghost cause you go so fast and that board uses a lot of rail in water so less can be more … less drag …. Just my 2 cents love to hear others I surf on west coast of South Australia

I’m 150 pounds and I rode the mediums for a while before eventually realising that they were too small - I didn’t realise it at the time but I was nursing turns and really struggling to drive off backhand bottom turns. I tried the large template but they overpowered me in anything over 3ft. I really wish there was a size in between, as the mediums are the smallest by area of fcs range.

i like mick and his surf style. he is one of my favorite 'young' generation surfers (mick, john florence, and dane reynolds), even though i dont surf like any of them, nor aspire to), and he hails from the power aussie school that somehow aside from curren seems to be most influential and sympathetic to me since starting in the 1980s. that said, i think all this fin bs is bs, and sales tactics, fcs, (which i use), or futures, or anything else. a fin is a fin is a fin (aside from its shape and rake of course, but still, the basic all round old school shape that was glassed on boards (performer) should suffice, and basically the best fin is the old skool kind of simply solid glass and resin, in my opinion. basic, solid, not complicated, and durable. flex dont mean sh*t to me. of course i am not a pro on tour winning world championships, but neither is 99.9% of the people watching this video thinking they 'rip' at their local break and their once a year trip to wherever, and who believe that fins and 'magic' boards, which in my mind are like unicorns and dont exist either), actually matter to their surfing (i mean, ok, a horrible shape and wacked out misaligned fins will of course affect performance, but basically a good shape should be fine. anyway, all that said, i am kasper sad of the sad syndicate, and once my 'designed in clamburgh' california hearse model is released to market, i want fcs to make kasper sad branded ' undertaker's spade' 'mortician's spade', and 'gravedigger's spade) fins, made of solid glass and resin, 'firm as gravestone' :)
