I have a board I shaped that wasn’t supposed to be a twin but works awesome as a twin. I installed a couple FCS plugs to make it a twinzer and now it’s faster, drivier, better backside and the range has been greatly increased.
I had a board like that too, i lost my middle fin on a session and realized how good it rode as a twin, then i bought a twin set up and installed on it, it rode beautifully, in my mind it felt like those Mark Richards 80s boards, carved like butter
Been shaping for 30 years and fins Do alter ride characteristics . So do all the other foundations of a well designed board like plan shape , rocker ,foil .rail shape , hull contours etc,etc . Different fin setups are suited to different surfers , the waves you ride and on and on I could go . Its surfing people , its fluid , do whatever you want . Have whatever setup you want . Dave Rasta surfs great and this setup is valid , but not the final word .
Rastas ability to micro adjust his technique to make any board work and his understanding of the elements of surfboard design is astounding such an truly amazing surfer still my favourite free surfer (if you want to give him that cringy corporate label)
Bro i surf by myself on a good PB pretty much everyday, secret spot. A lot of empty spots out there, just go out and search. Thesd guys also have the possibility to catch planes taking them to remote locations, so it's easier.
I like that feeling to. Watch one of my latest videos at the wave pool. I rode Futures thruster fins without the rear fin, works great for narrow tail boards, holds but feels really loose and glidy.
vegemite and burger, nothing more. for a narrow tail use a large center fin and two keel side fins so you can stay high. If you like wide tails like rolf did, a twin fin setup with large side fins and a small keel center fin works best.
I bet us mere mortals would have a hard time with a setup like that. Even Rasta looks like he is babying the top turns a bit. And he can likely surf anything and make it work. If it's fun it's fun, tho

This board appears to be catching a rail and tripping the surfer up.great in a straight line..great for further development but I would be trying before you buy here.
It's not crazy, it's just surfing off the rail. It's typical Rasta surfing, more front foot than back, he engages his rail through turns and the tail follows the nose around. You can see when he gets too much back foot in there it skips out.
@nathanmoore5705 fine, but don't promote yourself a freespirit not tied to any brand or corporation when you are actually sponsored to the hilt, that's what I have a problem with

Any sport at the high level is like that, people get obssessed over small gear details, in skateboarding is the same with deck sizes, wheel size, truck size. Also when i boxed, i remember people stressing out over how many ounces this gloves had or certain gloves had. Some stuff may make no difference to the average joe, but a pro on the highest level can spot differencies.
This is the best Electric Acid Surfboard Test stab has ever done
I'm pretty sure I've seen Dave ride a door so anything he does on a surfboard is entirely different than what the average human can do.
Would a thruster setup work if a door had a rounded tail?
How is this debunking the thruster?
It's called clickbait
@ yup they got me :(
He is revolutionising the whole game, changing history, no wait... it actually surf like sh't and its rasta just being rasta 😄

That's how you rely more on your rail and less on your fins. Fin placement and templates are just as important as the shape itself.

Wtf was going on with that trailing fin when he’s talking at the end? Looked angled in a bunch
Definitely ripped that futures box out
Broke the fin box
How do they find these empty pointbreaks? Do they just kick everyone else out?

@@fernandomaron87 Looks like Goldcoast to me
Dave R., Do you drive off your or Back or Front Foot? Makes a bit of Difference on the topic of “V”
I‘m riding a set up like this on all my thrusters since years! So much more drive and still so loose
Bigger sides, smaller centre. aka the kelly slater fins
Is dave wearing eye liner?

Dave’s a bloody legend👍
Gracias Dave
Gracias STAB
I’m betting the click through rate to STAB premium is about 2%
😂😂😂🎉
I debunked the thruster once too. I accidentally installed fins backwards in a frantic rush.
The board rode fine. 😅
Same here. One day I went work without wearing a bra and didn’t even notice until I got home lol
Loved this years EAST and how his brain works
7:17 Too light! I’ve always believed in a bit of Weight that aids in the inertia, hence forward movement, especially with Bumpier conditions.
Yeah that’s true or it also helps of the board rails are engaging and not floating too high when your turning or putting pressure on the back foot
No one ever recreated the winged keel single fin I guess...

do you like the feeling of surfing ? or do you like how you are perceived as a wave rider ?
.
Bro, that's a dumb question. Every single surfer on the planet enjoys the feeling of riding a wave

Maybe "precipice" was a little hyperbolic. Considering that was 19 years ago. (Its definitely a thing but the scare tactics are counterproductive.)

How do you even think of skipping your board to make it go faster 😂

Fins too far forward makes them surf too flat.
The Man Could Turn Anyfing…..
That first fin setup is just dumb. You can plainly see it not working for him.
That rocker could have been straightened pretty easily.
Perfect example of how close minded people in the surf industry are.
Really Dave. Simon law got thrusters so Good. Go ride some real waves
Like there is any engineering or fluidics in surfboards. 😂
Dave rastovich free surfer but never paid for a wetsuit or surfboard in his life😅
you’d do the same if you had the chance 👍 I know I would
I think he deserves every bit and a beer

@denisrogers4358 no denying the guy is a major talent ,and always has been
I think surfers care too much about shit that ultimately makes little difference.

Well you guys I have been doing this since 1980
In 1976 I had my own thruster won the NSW state
Your all to slow
A paywall? Stab Is going to die soon😂
you're tripping
boring...
