- Model Train Railfanning Review of Atlas NJ Transit Bombardier ALP 45 DP (dual-power) HO Scale DCC Modern Commuter Model Train Locomotive #4515 filmed on The Central Allegheny Division Private Model Layout by Super Trains
The shots in this video were inspired by NJT's North Jersey Coast Line and Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, which are both located in New Jersey in the United States of America. NJT ALP-45DPs with their double decker cars can be frequently be seen on these lines bringing passengers to their destinations.
Check out Atlas' website:

The Central Allegheny Division is a custom private HO scale DCC model train layout. The train signals and railroad crossings feature working lights. The layout, like many layouts, is an ongoing work in progress. The overall design is not fully based on any real-life rail lines; however, it is heavily inspired by the style of North Eastern American Railroads, such as Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh Line and New Jersey Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. The layout was slightly modified for this video with features such as custom Northeast Corridor colored PRR signals and imitation electric catenary.

I’ve lived near the NJT mainline my whole life and this is about as accurate of a model as you can get. The sounds, the paint, everything is spot on
THE best 'nighttime' model railroad video ever! Superb recording and great camera angles. The lighting was perfect throughout, BRAVO! I INSTANTLY subscribed!
VERY REALISTIC! Just watch the lighting on the Multi-Level cab car.
looks super realistic!
Excellent video! I got my ALP45 3 weeks ago.
Fantastic layout and video!

cool. i used to work for NJ Transit.
This awesome
Cool
I NEEEEEEEEEEED ITTTTTTTTT!!!!!!
Fantastic sound and good movie. Also very good part of the night. What is rarely seen in model films. With my ALP-45DP I have made the master sound a lot lower. With my keeps the pantograph with a hook very well and can not be solved. I also buy the ESU 21PIN LokSound decoder with Bell and Horn (K5LA) sound to be as close to the original as possible. The LED interior lighting is not too light or too dark for the trailers. As with some other models in part.
Otherwise a more than TOP model from Atlas! That's why I ordered the same Commuter Train from AMT!
You’ve even got the bell sound! I loved the NJ trains when I visited a couple of years ago and remember that sound so well. Thanks for bringing back some great memories, even in this model format 🙂
I’m from NJ and have ridden these trains many times, and I even expect to be working for them as a conductor soon. This is insanely accurate, but the only thing missing is the wheel color.
@@joeydoherty368 Good luck with working for them 👍
@@duffman7065 Thanks
Absolutely wonderful models and even more wonderful camera work!
I'd love to get into model railroading, but I haven't the space nor the money!
The brakes are really good
woah!!
OMG I NEEEEEEEEEED IT!!!!!
Connor Witengier I already know man. Lol I've been waiting for a NJ transit forever!!!

But it's a set with 3 coaches. You can get it at TrainWorld for way under $300 (and $300 is inexpensive for DCC & sound). I just got my set with 3 additional coaches for the prototypical 6 car consist. Midel railroading isn't cheap!
@@bhigdaddymark and
The easiest line to Model is RVL NEC NJCL with ALP-45DP because the trains on those lines are actually double-decker coaches with ALP-45DP locomotives or the straight electric ALP-46 2001-2003 era ALP-46A 2009-2013 NJCL (NY Long Branch) & NEC Lines. The recent Atlas has them super detailed is that the Raritan Valley Line runs through Hillside Township from Union Kean University Station towards New York and Newark. Atlas Models should make ALP-46 & ALP-46A easily done by sending an employee to Newark Penn and taking a picture of either North jersey coast Line or northeast Corridor trains.
what do you use for your cantonary wires
I really want one like that a train set

WHERE DID U GET THE MULTILEVELS
1:51 that is one nice horn sound
4:27
did you install the loksound decoder in your njt multilevel cabcar?
No, all the sounds are from the engine in the video. Both the red marker lights and white headlights stay on when powered by a DCC layout if it does not have a decoder installed.
Tell me that horn isn't a recording of the real thing?
All of the sounds heard are recorded from the model. The horn is sounded by pressing a button on the DCC controller.
I have a present for you.

Where did you get those single level cabs?
they don't sell them anymore, they are beckman and rare times on eBay and stuff they go up but they are old and rare and are not made anymore. keep a eye on eBay for them and try snag some! they go by fast!!!
I will look out too, well see who gets them first!
