Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 січ 2020
- In this video I install a cheap steering damper (stabilizer) on to the Triumph Speed twin. Then i give it a torture test and do some fine adjustments to fit my needs.

I really like the look of that Speed Twin. I had a Bonneville back in the early / mid-60s. I really liked that bike. I got ran off the road twice in one day. Decided it was time to move on. I'm nearly 80 now and I want another bike. :-)
👌🏻🤣👍🏻
Not sure why I watch your videos! So jealous of your roads and weather. Had weeks of wet miserable days in the UK and how dare you say your roads are busy lol
I'm also in the market for a Nohlins damper for my Continental GT650. Nice work.
Öhlins comes at a high price for a reason. hopefully you will do another video after riding with the Öhlins damper. Besides good looks (?) a good damper lessens overall fatigue
Thinking of trading my speed triple r 2017 model for a speed twin , just love the it
Can't believe the lack of traffic so close to a major city like LA. I live in Northern Ireland and its getting more and more difficult to find a time or place to feel really free. Jealous of the lovely sunny weather. 😎🌞🏍️
Yeah it doesn’t take long to get out of the madness of LA and have a peaceful ride!
I feel you man! I just order one today. Probably totally don't need one - but what the hell!!!
I traded my Tiger for the Speed Twin...love your vids man.
Awesome 👍 keep up the good work
You should get a fork cartridge kit and then get or do a proper suspension set up.
Soon!
What's next?, an ashtray?, Nice bike btw!!
I wish I had the same problems with traffic as you.....you should try the UK!
Yeah the constant moaning is pathetic, these guys don't know how lucky they are over there with their huge open roads. they'd probably sh.t themselves on UK roads.
IMHO a $400 steering damper is a phenomenal waste of money on that bike. Before I got mine I had thought of adding one, but within a few weeks of riding it I realized why every ST owner said it was really unnecessary to put a damper on it. Very docile bike compared to the R1. I could be wrong, but I don't think you need a very high pressure setting to dampen a sudden slapper. Nice, thorough video, as usual. Thanks.
Greetings from Spain. I have a Bonneville T120 and my question is if you are still using that shock absorber today. I imagine it will be the same for the T120 or there will be an equivalent one from that commercial brand. Thank you.
did you get the handlebar wobbles too when accelerating? I get them a lot on my speed twin. one got quite scary.
It wasn’t ever a problem for me. But I installed the stabilizer anyway 😄
Can we put these on royal enfield continental gt 650 or interceptor 650
Waiting for the Öhlins cartridge kit video :-)
Just pop for the Ohlins front forks and better brakes off a Thruxton R model.
I will be addressing the front soon, I haven’t decided which way to go yet though!
Lol yeah if money is no object.
hello Adam, could you tell me or did you find the little windshield that produces it ,thank you very much.
How about Tec Bike parts USA
Yeap, i like this way than installing on hand bar
I like this option - great price. Where did you get the O sticker?
Stickers purchased from eBay
Hey Adam, Thank you for the vid, I would like to do the same on my Speed Twin and am checking out the link on Amazon. May I ask you which version did you mount on the bike, the one with 245mm width or the one with 360mm width? Best, Daniel
It was the shorter one.
@@AdamCroll Thank you Adam, is yours still working,? On Amazone some customer references are very positive, some are horrible, alternatively I think to go on with the one from LSL but it costs 8 times more...BTW, Thank you for all your vids, did some of your alterations as well starting with the farkle to replace the chrome center nut with the one from the Tiger ;-)
Did you use Style A, B, or C on the Amazon link?
Style A
have you had any other problems with the bike apart from squeaky breaks? tempted to get a speed twin but not sure how reliable triumphs are
No other problems! I’d say that they are almost on par with Japanese motorcycles as far as reliability at this point. It really has none of the old British quirkinesses that they use to.
Triumphs are very reliable. Squeaky breaks are just dirty, a little cleaning and all is well
I noticed you’re getting some brake squeal. Same thing happened on my speed twin after a few hundred kms from new
Same with my bike.. I also have a bit warped discs. The dealer is going to change the discs and pads under warranty. Read something about that the wheel hub could have some part in the problem and that some people had the front wheel replaced under warranty. going to try the easy route first anyways.
B .T I think the design of it attracts a lot of dirt, I say this because cleaning the brake pads with brake cleaner makes it go away for a couple of weeks.
Yes mine’s the same and had a pulsing when I applied the brakes gently at low speed - suspected warped discs. The dealer A1 Moto in York UK changed the discs and pads no questions asked - really like this dealership. I suspect Triumph have had a bad batch of discs.
Mine makes a hissing sound after a long ride. Goes off after I clean the discs.
The sound was actually from my rear disc! (I did a test to confirm off camera!) And that day was the first time it’s happened to me. I haven’t had the problem with the fronts so far.
one more verry good video ... even i wont buy a chinese part .... no need
I’d put the money towards an adjustable fork cartridge kit instead of a steering damper if I were you. Junk that fake damper. The bike doesn’t even need a real one (did you ever get a tank slapper) and fake is risky. And fake... lovely Daimler Dart at 11.38.
Forks will be next! Yes this bike doesn’t really need it. Never tank slapped on this bike but have experienced it on others in the past.
That wasn`t a Daimler Dart at 11:38 ,it was a Sunbeam Alpine or a Sunbeam Tiger.
@@mjh5437 You are correct. I was watching on my phone.
Align the wheels, then you wont need that dangerous add on
Congratulations, you found the solution to a non-existent problem, now all you have to do is call the engineers at Triumph and tell them how stupid they are...LMAOoooooo
You are turning in too soon on right hand corners. Get some training,
What's with the constant moaning every time you see another vehicle on the road just go past them. Your positioning in a lot of those corners was terrible you need to work on that to stay safe.
Right-he thinks every vehicle on the road apart from himself is a "dick"
