Brad - since you’re a youngish guy when it comes to heart issues, here is my two cents. At age 49, I had heart pain while swimming. All common heart tests showed no issues. EKG, treadmill test, etc. After several weeks of exercising…and immediately stopping when pain occurred, I told my doctor about the pattern. He ordered a nuclear stress test. That revealed 90% blockage in the “widow maker” artery. Emergency surgery was given.
As I understand it, the Calcium scan won’t show which arteries have blockage or to what degree. At that point, it’s a bit of a guessing game as to what do with a high score on the calcium scan.
The best advice I can give is to do aerobics consistently because that will push blood through the arteries and, normally, pain results when blood is trying to push through an artery that has grown narrow due to plaque. That is what happened to me. Exercise literally saved my life.
It does tell you which artery.

Instant #1 POD on Venture and Investing. Don't expect the humor of the #allinpodcast, but we will get much more wisdom we can use. I learned more from Bill during an investment review process of my startup TaxiMagic than all other mentor/advisors combined. BG1=GOAT. His Above the Crowd blog is timeless and meticulously researched and edited for deep analysis, but that wisdom has been infrequent. His twitter presence is pervasive, BUT, I've never gotten the full message from his tweets. Too often the context can be lost if you don't live in the valley. The guys on the All-In Pod have made SV twitter chatter accessible to the rest of us, but those guys revere Bill for a reason, he is WAY better at all of this! I have never met Brad, but his relentless analysis of "the numbers" is impressive and his intense personality is a good match with Bill's deceivingly laid back demeaner. Thank you Bill and Brad!!!

Much Much thanks to you guys for making me aware of Calcium CT scan. Few weeks after this pod aired I had Doc. Appt. (my age 65) I ask if I could have a Calcium CT scan order.. He hesitated for a moment then said yes I can order but I have to pay for it (~$185) as it most likely wont be covered. I said let do it..
Total calcium score of 1555 Agatston units, which places me in the 96th percentile for atherosclerotic cardiovascular risk.
I'm am now scheduled to see a Heart & Vascular Doc.
AGAIN Much Thanks.. Brad the reason I watched this first episode is I recognize you and Bill from All-In & LOVED the All-In Summit with Bill's Regulatory Capture.. Off/On throughout my live I've heard the term but never understood what it meant.. Now I know politicians selling we the ppl out..

Always wondered why it’s taken many public/private tech this long to get fit too. Rate hiking began almost 2 years ago. The boards being too young/naive is a strong thesis.

The key to success is getting help at crucial moments when it will make a difference. For example a referral, a small loan, a friend with a spare bed, access to optional living arrangements such as a tent on the roof or a spot under a desk, access to transportation, help from family, etc. If that help is not given, the opportunity passes by and takes the hope of success with it. Sometimes desire, talent and strong work ethics aren't enough.
