Amazing pod! Candidly, takes the best of All-In - the analysis - and delves even deeper and for much longer, really exploring what it means to be an Analyst; clear path to my #1 fav pod!!
The Aaron Levie reactions to the profound things being said - about at-scale ad platforms growing engagement a bunch and monetization, as well as cloud providers adding $15 B in ARR etc - are priceless and really help to highlight the profound growth and opportunity, given Levie being such a tech leader and astute analyst of business. Really interesting and fun!

I am a huge all-in fan since episode 1. But this is something else. This is a finance focused business podcast. The graphs that Brad’s research team has put together with his commentary are extremely valuable, you won’t find this anywhere on UA-cam. I am not sure how long he’s going to share these. Its like open-source/e/acc/tech merged with elite Wall Street. Its a weird new combo but I love it.

The discussion around granting every h1b visa request was bizarre... There currently is a glut of tech workers and not enough jobs, granting more h1b visas would not help the situation. Lots of current visa holders are also having to return to their home countries because there aren't enough tech jobs.

Aaron's immigration thesis has been a central focus of mine for some time now as a non-resident founder, with a markedly different twist. In the absence of an available pathway to residence, how can founders and professionals still have "digital residence" that gives unrestricted access to corporate and financial systems, capital, and other services required to achieve the same kind of impact, while operating from outside the US.

1:16:00 To put the H1B issue as the most insane thing our country is doing is just myopic. So many bigger issues to consider.
On top of that, why not train up and employ Americans. There were massive layoffs over the last couple years. Why can't Americans do these jobs? Does education need to change?
Bring over the top of the top but a lot of H1Bs are just senior level engineers that aren't exactly running the Manhattan Project when they get here.

This is meant to be constructive - I think the pod is worthy, and can grow (with some focus)
This is not meant to be (too) harsh... Bill is awesome - when he talks, you find yourself replaying (in your mind) what he says to make sure you grok it fully. Brad is obviously smart, however (again not meant to be too harsh), he's boring... he's like the professor in college you couldn't sit through the whole lecture listening to...
    Suggestion:
Play to your strengths - don't need more Bill (that's not his personality), however Brad needs to tonedown the monologues... (case in point: you had Aaron on, and for some reason Brad chose to talk more than 10 min straight without even asking a question).
Or don't evolve... this will remain a nice little pod - that's fine too.

At 1:13:07, I disagree with Bill about having to redo AI models for each individual in order to create a personal assistant. A real-life personal assistant doesn't know all your emails, all your contacts, etc... They know preferences, behaviors, etc... and can apply them in different contexts. You need the AI to have access to your emails, calendar, contacts and they can reference these to get tasks done (like a real-life assistant would do).

Fair enough. Tbh it’s just a small wish i know will never come true anyway :)
Shows like this one dilute a lot of the value i used to get from all-in, and tbh im not liking the direction the show is taking in terms of content. Topics about politics are taking a bigger portion of the show and while i enjoy those discussions, in all-in they are being very one sided. They used to clash/discuss much more on this topic but JCal seems like he stopped enjoying being a punching bag and just goes along with what the rest say.

As far as immigration, perhaps the US should get back to educating its kids, whether black, brown or white. The country would be better off than focusing on bringing in outsiders from better education systems. Too many US school systems have kids that can't do math at all. If should embarrass everyone in the country that the US education system can't supply enough intelligent young people.

In my opinion, Levie did not have any valuable insights....instead of talking around in every podcast and youtube channel, i believe it would be better to concentrate on his own business and how it is being disrupted by every startup...
