REMIX!!! Add a pack of frozen mixed veggies (I’m thinking California mix) and thicken a bit. Top with biscuits, crescent roll dough or pie crust for a pot pie or instant mash for a shepherd style pie!

I use butternut squash soup as a base to make curry. I add ginger, garlic, curry powder, Garam masala powder and sauté that in butter. Sautee you choice of veggies. Add any meat you like (I love to use paneer cheese). Then add the butternut squash soup and either cream or coconut milk. Simmer until cooked.

With the leftover cheeseburger soup, you might be able to make some type of shepherd's pie with mashed potatoes. Corn and other things.

I like how you evolved the series based on the comments on the first episode. If you ever do another 30 day for $100 challenge, I think the soup to pasta sauce concept would work well there. Also thanks for sharing about the parchment paper sheets from dollar tree and the idea to press sandwich sized sausage patties for the freezer! I’m already thinking of all the variations I can make with this concept- turkey patties, chicken patties, very thin beef patties for smash style burgers, salmon patties- and they can all get thrown on that xl griddle you recommended back in may

Tip: to keep the re-invented "squash pasta sauce" GF & DF... 1) use cornstarch instead of flour to make the rue 2) use coconut or an alternative nut milk for the creaminess 3) add cooked white beans for extra protein or serve over cooked white beans or rice instead of GF pasta. I'm sure everyone figured that out.

Thanks for utilizing your stock piles. I keep a stock up pantry when I find great sales. Every week, my Albertson's has an amazing sale, and it rotates with the previous week. I don't buy the other stuff, or at least I try to. Reduced proteins, and I check out their freezer stuff. If it's on markdown at a great price. I hit a doozy of a deal a few months ago. They had had their t-bones and porterhouses on sale the previous week. They were $7 and then 50% off. I stocked up big time. I can bake it like a roast, and when it's done, I can make bone broth utilizing the same heat. It's amazing. I, like you did, turn whatever I make in one meal, turn it into several options off the top of my head. It depends on what I have stock piled. I use portion control containers to put in the fridge or freezer. I had gastric bypass in 2001, and I've been on a diet with healthy products ever since. I watched my sister because she had the same surgery 3 years before me. She started gaining back her weight in the middle of the second year. I knew i would, too, if I didn't make a lifestyle change. So it's staying at a healthy weight with well-rounded food. I splurge every week with one meal that I want, not what I need. It keeps me from getting burned out and keeping my healthy foods with the inspiring treat for my work. Thanks for sharing your mission with us.

In the UK, a jacket potato with whatever topping you add to it is either an easy lunch or a light dinner. Stick your potatoes (about the size of your fist) all over with a fork, microwave for 10 minutes on high, then rub with oil & salt & pepper (they're mega hot so be careful). Stick them in the oven at 200 degrees centigrade (392 Fahrenheit) for 20 to 30 minutes to crisp the skin up (it's the best, most nutritious bit). Once the potatoes are cooked ( the skins are nice & crispy), cut a deep cross in the top of them, them squeeze at the fat part to make them open up or cut them in half or quarters, whichever suits you. Top with absolutely anything you want, after sticking a knob (pat) of butter into the potato. Typically, anything ground beef based, chilli, spag bol sauce, pulled pork of any description. The UK cheap & easy is grated cheese & baked beans. Tuna mayo, chicken mayo, chilli (from a tin. The key is ,lots of butter/margerine, a crispy skin on the potatoes & lots of cheese. If you want any more ideas please just ask. Makes a bag of potato's go a long way & there are no end of additions you can add xx

Try dry mustard and tomatoes paste next time so the soup doesn't curdle. I'd also just put some dill or a dash of the pickle juice.

That pasta looked fabulous! So does the cheeseburger soup! I'm all about easy cooking! lol
I use that G.V. seasoning blend all the time, because we like LOTS of onion, so that ratio suits us perfectly. I may check our local DT store and see if they have the seasoning blend in stock and maybe try mixing the two.
I have a lot of mason jars from when I used to do a lot of canning; I use them for so many things. Drinking glasses (We call them our "country crystal".😄) food storage, individual servings of desserts like pudding or jello/fluff salads, and the little 4-oz jars are used for homemade spice blends and seasoning mixes.

If you want to avoid that separation, then leave out the cheese and milk probably. Just like how you use lemon juice to make buttermilk, the pickles and mustard are acidic. The ketchup probably didn't cause any problems.

Thank you for sharing a 'scrapped together' soup! When you start compiling all the bits and ends, it's sometimes an abundance of choices and it can be difficult to actually narrow down what you want to cook with it all. Having a good rotation available is key.
Also, I love the Great Value Seasoning Blend you used. It's such a flexible mix and I use it in tuna bowls, soups, and pot pies.

To make it more cheeseburger-y, you could even use tomato jam in place of the ketchup and relish and/or pickle juice in place of the pickles and it would have a similar purpose i think(?). I put my mom's homemade bell pepper relish and tomato jam, separately or together, on sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, sausages. So good

i have seen several recipes where people make "mac and cheese" by replacing the cheese with butternut squash "soup". i love cheeseburger soup and have made it several times. because it reminds me of hamburger helper as well, for the leftovers i add cooked pasta and sometimes a little more cheese depending on how thick my soup was. i mashed the potatoes, so there weren't potato chunks and pasta.

Tonight made a soup from leftover pork loin & potatoes from last week.
Added a small onion, grape tomatoes & chopped the pork & potatoes into fine pieces & used up leftover broth to put it all together.
Didn't even need much seasonings, just pepper & chimichurri seasoning. The pork was highly seasoned in a marinade before cooking the first time. We got a few meals out of this $9 pork loin! I fixed a few grilled cheese sandwiches to accompany the soup...
My hubs had 3 bowls of the soup, I think he likes it 😂❤

I love butternut squash sauces! It makes fantastic mac-n-cheese with half the normal amount of cheese.
I cook up some ground chicken spiced up like hot Italian sausage & toss it in. Add a little Swiss cheese or Parmesan with the cheddar. The balance of cheesy, salty, sweet & spicy is delicious
I top with Italian seasoned bread crumbs before baking in the oven.

      Absolutely everyone try it.
1 large jar of dill pickles
      1 carrot
      2 potatoes
      1 London broil
      1 cup heavy cream
      Salt
      -Boil your meat until tender
-Shred your pickles with a cheese grater “use the whole jar”
      - shred your carrot
      - cut your potatoes medium size chunks
      - shred your meat
Add everything together and let boil around 20 minutes
      - add in your heavy cream
      - salt to taste
even though pickles are salty you will need to add salt to the soup the heavy cream and water really reduces the salt from the pickles. If anyone tried the recipe please lmk I hope everyone enjoys it’s actually really tasty ❤️

Put some taco seasoning in there and put it on some chips with jalapenos and sour cream for nachos or thicken it up with more cheese or corn starch and make burritos, kinda like people do with chili. Or maybe I'm just hungry right now. 😛 Loving this series!

Some ways I make it a little more convenient for my preparing meals. I purchase ground beef usually 80/20 on sale and then cook the ground beef up without seasoning. I then drain the cook meat very well. I then portion out into smaller portions and freeze. This way when I need cooked ground beef its ready just to add into recipes. I've found this works great and cuts down on preparing meals. I cook chicken on sale in my Instant Pot under pressure cooker with water or chicken broth and mild seasoning. I also portion out so I can freeze portions to use in later meals too. I also have done the same with sausage too on sale.
I am always looking through the discount rack in produce section of grocery for peppers or onions. When I find those bargains, I wash discount produce well and then chop up and portion out servings and freeze portions to have ready to add to meals later. They both freeze very well if placed in good packaging. I flash freeze first the produce. Laying out on cookie sheet flat and freeze first then add to packaging to freeze per portion.

I'm thinking an au graten potato casserole. Cook some more potatoes and put in a greased casserole. Pour the soup over and top with more cheese. Bake till bubbly. Broil long enough to brown cheese a bit.

I'm very envious of your Dollar Tree. The one near me doesn't offer frozen foods or other. Just canned goods and even then it's mostly beans and tuna...I'd love to visit one with a refrigerated or frozen section, I'd bet I'd be like a kid at a candy store lol!! Love the soup series! Hope you do it again from time to time!.

I mentioned this in the last cheese video but american processed cheese freezes really well. Cut into blocks, wrap in plastic wrap and store in a ziploc; then thaw as needed.

Quick question 🙋‍♀️ how many would you suggest for a set of mason jars 🫙 for someone who is getting started 2 of each size ? (2c and 4 c) trying to help I’m trying to help young adults get started. 🥰

They come in a pack of 12, but that does take up quite a bit of space! So perhaps 4 of each would be good to start for space limitations

I have used leftover canned pumpkin in pasta sauce before, so the pasta sauce makes a lot of sense.

Yes I think the vinegar (in the ketchup and pickles) curdled the milk. I think the easy remix would be to make it like hamburger helper with pasta. But maybe you can do like nachos? If you add more of the cheesy melt and make it into a queso.

So clever! This sauce would be great on those Cheese Ravioli’s they sell at the Dollar Tree. At the store there is a jar of Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce that is about $ 3.00 or more. So this idea is for sure a win win. TY🙋‍♀️

Love your videos, both here and on TikTok! Question on the cheeseburger soup - why not use beef stock? I think that would be a more hamburgery flavor.

Maybe add some more cheese to the soup and thicken it up, make a pie crust or mashed potatoes and turn it into a pot pie or sheperds pie dish.
