This why I love Dick Van Dyke and other classic actors. Every time someone complimented him in an interview, he'd be very gracious and thankful, and then immediately talk about how important someone else was to the production, and did it so easily.
Yes but her adding feminism out of nowhere is weird this ain't a feminism problem at all, for every movement people call the extremists what they are but when it's women it's suddenly feminism? Yeah no
100% agree. No reflection or self-awareness about culture, craft of acting and our times. All interviews just about themselves. If they were half as charismatic as they think they are, they should be lucky.
The fact that Ariana went behind the back of a vulnerable wife with a new baby, to have an affair with her husband, and now sit there with her baby-voice and pretend to be so innocent and crying from emotion... did you think about that lady's emotions? No? Then why do you think we care about yours?
There has to be some drama going on for sure. It feels like they're trying too hard not to be too "Blake Lively" on this bc there was so much drama around her interviews with and now they are trying to hard to be emotional and caring😅
Well, there's two possibilities: 1. There's something wrong with these people. 2. They are just doing an act: every question they don't have a simple answer to, which honestly is almost every question, one of them starts crying to distract from the fact that they don't have an answer. Mind you: the two possibilities are not mutually exclusive, so it could be both.
I feel like one chameleon met another chameleon and they keep reflecting off of one another to the point where they’re becoming an amalgamation called Glynthiana
No. Chameleon like going through life over compensating for your insecurities by being what you think people around you need. Kind of 1 part placating, 1 part silencing your authentic self and sacrificing that for power. The victim mentality definitely fits in there @xxxxOS
Can't agree enough. I worked in UK Theatre for 10 years (amazing! The people are LOVELY, casts included) but then moved over to film and it took just 5 short years for me to completely fall out of love with all entertainment. I don't even watch TV, films or even go to the Theatre anymore. Fake and icky is the best way I can describe the whole mainstream entertainment industry. This production and Press tour is fascinating to me because so many people are falling for the whole fakey "we're just like SIIIIIISTERS!!!! 👁👄👁 Act…)
@@HelloRandoit’s so weird how theatre culture is so much friendlier and kinder and accepting than on screen film? obviously there’s fake, annoying people in theatre, a lot of them, but the people around them recognize their toxicity and isolate them a bit, at least to my experience. whereas film, the most insufferable people get the best roles?? maybe that’s just because theatre is much less accessible for people to attend, so there’s not a whole lot of fame in it, and the fame is what those people love?? i don’t know. it’s just weird to see how strikingly different they are.
People always smelled the bullshit. It's just that celebrities now demand opportunities to shovel the shit onto our screens at a rapid pace. Its on them
I heard rumours that both of them were put on diets to make them look thinner for Hollywood. I hope it's not the case, cause that's really fucked up. 😨But it would help to explain a few things.
Same. It's really off-putting.. I choose films based on whether I like the cast 😅 which is not very often lol but I can't help finding Ariana annoying and I don't think she means to but she comes across as fake, I believe she might have some kind of personality disorder as she's always changing her personality, even her voice and as an autistic person myself, I always find it hard when people don't seem genuine. Which I see in a lot of the famous people tbh.
I was a professional dancer and performer in broadway shows for many years. It was a blessing to get to make a living performing. I never once thought that I was saving lives lol it’s entertainment. Yes it required years of training and hard work. And yes it’s an art. But it’s certainly not saving lives. It’s just entertaining. These people need to get over themselves 🙄🙄🙄 Denzel said it: it’s a LUXURY
I have a feeling the way they dress in those movies is based on actors... That, or the actors saw the movie and didn't realize the capital were the bad guys. Kind of a chicken and egg situation.
The fact that the film started off with the controversy of ariana being a homewrecker to family with a new born baby and then her writing a song basically saying yeah i did that and what? And for her and cynthia go on about kindness just infuriates me istg
yeah this is it for me too. Especially Ariana has proven to be driven by getting whatever she wants. Not only men but everything in her life. So many other celebrities have said so about her. Call me crazy, but she is just. not. kind.
@jennynash298 I'm not an Ariana Grande fan because she used to have a very different personality to what she has now. Now, she speaks like a Disney princess despite presumably being 31. It's just creepy to me how she tailors her personality, body and speech, even the tone of her voice, but I don't understand for what reasons.
And now she’s trying to gaslight gatekeep girlboss the narrative, spinning it so she comes out on top as a woman who’s had to endure so much hate for the simple mistake of falling in love. Also I will never forgive Cynthia for what she did to The Great Comet musical; WE COULD’VE HAD MANDY PATINKIN BACK ON STAGE 😭 The film will definitely do great and they probably really did a really good job, good for them! But they’ve never been authentic for a second, which is becoming very obvious on this press tour.
Who cares it already happened, people end up in those situations all the time in life. You only care because it’s Ariana grande. FYI it’s the responsibility of the person in the relationship to not cheat. I never got the homewrecker trope when the person who is actually IN the relationship is the only responsible for being loyal to their partner/family.
They're *female* professional narcissists "sharing" a spotlight. Of *course* they're constantly trying to one up each other on the sly. (Which, ironically? Makes the behind the scenes stuff a far more honest depiction of female friendships than the movie itself.)
When the results came in and Trump won Ariana Grande posted this, “Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of this outcome today”. No you are not and physically can’t. What goes through your mind to write stuff like that. Do people take comfort in her imaginary hand holding during any bad news? “World War 3 was just declared. Giving soft head pats to all the young people who will be drafted soon.“
Shes a whole weirdo and 9/10 she probably voted for him behind the scenes and comes to her audience for brownie points and clout z feeding off of their emotions 😭 it's like when the kar-Jenners voted for him and was crying abt his behavior to their audience , all these rich ppl are fake. They know politics are the way to get ppl talking
I'm so glad you made a video and we can talk about this. The crying, the touching, the multiple matching tattoos, the compliments and praises, the voices they use. I understand "women supporting women" and "friendship". I get it. But it's a bit much! It doesn't look healthy. Are they doing it for the movie??
It's all nauseating. Why should I support someone just because we share the same equipment? I guess when I become a Westerner, I'll be able to understand such a stupid mentality.
I don't know anything about either of these broads, but I do remember seeing an interview clip of Arianna Grande. The reason I remember it is because I was surprised how deep and gravely her voice was for such a pint-sized human. It's weird hearing her try to speak in a seductive whisper now...
This type of behavior reminds me of couples who overdo the PDA to show how “in love” they are when it in fact looks showy and unnatural. Unusually it’s not a healthy relationship.
Ever since she's took that man away from his family, she's been talking like a whimsical fairy princess like her character...I think it's almost to make her seem less like a villain
Ariana Grande has always been fake. I understand people change, but she is constantly changing her persona. She goes from Lolita sex kitten to this lucent fairy princess act. In reality, she has quite a large roster of being the other woman or cheating on her own partners
@@flyleelee5351 I agree to you point but I want to address one point , the husband chose to leave the family and be with ariana . He is main reason the family broke , she IS still a part of the problem but not at all completely. He could have ignored ariana but he chose to cheat on his wife and the mother of his child with ariana. Again I agree with your point but adding a small info to your point . (Apologies for my English, it is not my first language). No hate . Peace🙏
@@heysunshine_058thank you this is exactly what I said. People only care because it’s Ariana grande. Because why is she getting a majority of the blame when the husband is the one who betrayed his family? She probably didn’t even know at the beginning.
@Alecexo People are mad because she's stolen tons of men already and it's poor character to do that & normalise it in society. Yeah the husband is most to blame but Ariana knew fine well he was married with a literal new born and slept with him and that is unbelievably gross and cruel. She's not a nice person. No one who sleeps with married men is a nice person. Cheating is wrong but being the woman who enables the cheating is just as wrong too. Both Ethan and Ariana are terrible people, as well as fake. Don't be brainwashed that these are good people Ariana is a horrible corrupt person and it doesn't matter if it's ariana or not people like me will always condemn cheating & cheating enabling & just poor character over all in anyone in the public eye. Her behavioural shouldn't be accepted. Were all sick of nasty people being treated like good people because they 'sound' sweet. Ariana isn't fooling anyone but children that she's a good person in anyway. Shame on her and all women who enable cheating lousy men to get sex. Cheaters and bad women deserve each other tbh. But we all know she will leave this guy as soon as her next project comes along. She only dates her costars because she thinks she's some kind of God who needs to pass on some kind of sexual energy to her projects. She's a self important fool. Caught up in an evil industry.
This kind of romanticised self-pity is our whole culture now, especially where 'protected groups' are concerned. They talk as though making it through a normal day is some kind of Biblical-level struggle which deserves its own biopic.
Yes! Modern "actors" are so vapid, so unthinking that they can't deliver a line, and so lacking in personality that without special effects and freaky clothes they would disappear on screen.
The whole "Love yourself" movement resulted in everyone using excuses to be non-productive drama queens that everyone else has to 'deal with'. They are quickly learning that no, no one has to deal with your bull crap and certain people aren't scared to tell you to screw off for being obnoxious. Wicked, it's crew and it's deeper fan base all deserve each other.
@@SuperCosmicMutantSquid Well, also... speaking of the Bible... it defines virtue signaling as a sin. Genuinely doing a "good deed" for public recognition, well the only reward you will get is an earthly one. Lying about doing good deeds... we all know where the Word says liars go. The fact Hollywood is cool with people lying to the public daily... says a lot about Hollywood.
Eewwwww i can't STAND Drew Barrymoore. Her interviews are so awful and cringe because she makes every one of them about herself... even when the person being interviewed is amazing, she still turns it into her story
It's called botox, my guy. Gen Z and Millenial women haven't had real cheek bones for like 10+ years. (Look at them from any angle other than straight ahead and tell me how much those "cheekbones" fit with the rest of their cranium. If they were *actually* solid structures? Then their skulls would have to have tusks.)
@ephraimwinslow botox doesn't give you cheekbones it freezes your face. Filler can be used as can implants for the cheeks . The other thing they're doing is removing buccal fat pads in the face to make the cheekbones stand out more . The fat pads cannot be replaced with filler , and this is a trend many surgeons warn against and refuse to do. When you age and become hollow this will not look good
@@journeytoform It's wonderful that you can admit that publicly. (My point was: the "cheekbones" in question are obviously the result of cosmetic surgeries -- such that you can tell at a glance. Which makes quibbling over the specifics of *which* cosmetic surgery it is... pedantry! This concludes your remedial English lesson for the day.)
THIS. I still can’t get over how Cate Blanchett called herself middle class. Like HUH!!!! I’m a fat food worker if she’s middle class then what the hell am I.
I fundamentally hate how the most useless jobs pay by far the most in today's society. Shelf stackers are far more essential today than anything any celebrity does and the celebs will easily make 1000x times more a year and claim they're oppressed
I just had to laugh when Cynthia said she was communicating emotion with her eyes on the poster. Not that we don’t communicate emotion with our eyes but just because I got absolutely nothing from that poster.
The lack of maturity on display kind of exemplifies how so many current influences try to encourage self-centered/childish behavior, including not being introspective or being critical of yourself or what you're likely being told to believe and accept.
I really don't want to judge someone based on what they wear, but... why is it so hard for celebrities to put on something that doesn't look it was taken from clown's wardrobe?
It’s so funny that this chick was named “icon of the year” by all of these magazines that nobody reads anymore and I’ve never even heard of her up until he had her narcissistic tempter tantrum. And even then, I have a hard time remembering her name.
I’m watching this video, where BC has said her name like three or four times, and my brain is like “she’s not important, I’m not logging that in. I’m keeping something more important, like how to make waffles”
You’re probably not a movie watcher then because she’s had some pretty good roles. That’s okay. But to diminish her talents just because you haven’t heard of her isn’t okay.
I actually knew who she was before she was casted for wicked, she was casted in a movie Harriet and performed at the Oscars. Not everybody needed to know her before she was casted for wicked

I think the thing most people are forgetting is that they are theatre kids. if you’re a theatre kid, you’d know EXACTLY how much of yourself and your emotion goes into things like this when your hearts REALLY in it. A lot of people tend to read into it too much, but any one who’s done theatre knows how invested you get and tears are shed left right up and down, especially when the thing you love is finally presented to the world/everything you’ve worked for has finally payed off. I’m not trying to defend or justify any strange behaviour these girls have shown and people have noticed, but I do still think it’s a massive factor as to why they are so emotional throughout all this press.
I saw a recent interview where Ariana said her low-end pop song "Break Free" saved lives. I don't know if she's delusional or her fans need more saving than pop music can offer.
This gives me hunger game vibes. I grew up a theater kid and ADORED wicked. I’ve read the book before it was a show. I have a “meh” feeling about this movie because it feels so vapid and surface level. The women are very talented singers and actresses so I hope the same intensity and energy brought to the stage is brought to the screen. I don’t think I’ll see it in theaters but maybe I’ll watch it when it comes out on streaming
Those emotions are fake, meaning they aren't even good actors. Fake emotions, fake, overpaid people. Wouldn't even watch their film for free, thank you.
Plus: As someone who genuinely loves movies: I am also tired of all-encompassing fake CGI sets, really filmed in green rooms and of fake AI filters and generators to make people look younger. SO BORING!!!!
"you have to be kind and good to everybody" Ariana: *mindblown* WHOAA😱😱 why are they acting so touched about the most basic statements 😭their overly serious tones and faces are unreal
Oh my god, i am in tears watching your critique of Hollywood. For years i have been so alone with my feeding about this. Now i know that i am not alone in this world. That my feelings may exist. Thank you so much garbage claim 😅 😅 ❤❤ you changed my world.
Because the creators of the movie are literally making them. Do you not know how promo works? Every movie sends the main cast on a press tour to gain attention for the premiere… this isn’t exclusive to these two
@Alecexo when they make it woke, they make it all about themselves. Secondly, they are not that good at promo, seeing as many people are turned off by the movie, you claim that they are sent out to promote.
@@AlecexoI mean, not every movie. More to the point, the writers and directors used to be the ones who got the glory. Thats why so many people remember Tarantino's name. I havent heard the focus on a director in a while
@ they are told what to do and say in these interviews like I said. If you see a press tour for a movie and think their answers aren’t rehearsed, then you need to rethink that.
I love when Cynthia A explainee her insane reaction was, because she was protective of her character when all her complaints were about herself, not the character she's playing, getting "erased." The thing that gets me is that these already privileged people like cosplaying as "Jennys from the block" with rags to riches stories when they were just the rich kids who worked hard to get richer. That's why most are completely insane. They were never normal to begin with.
Worked hard? Come on. They worked mid at best. (Hard work literally scars you. No one who has the time and energy to put out daily tweets and/or reels talking about how fab their day was actually worked hard.)
There’s a psychological tool called the HEXACO personality scale and it’s mostly related to the Five Factor Model of personality, but has the added factor of Humility. In the scale, the opposite of humility as a personality trait is the dark triad. Basically, if someone doesn’t have humility, they become a psychopathic narcissist.
I don't mind people crying out of true appreciation for their co-workers and their hard job and for knowing what got them to the top. But crying every three seconds just kinds shouts "I'm emotionally blackmailing you so you don't talk bad about me"
“Can we bring back adults?” Omg yes! For real!! I think social media has played a huge role in the lack of authenticity and humility. It isolates us from truly being around people and in the real world and that kind of bubble can be isolating and make it hard to connect with others in real life. It also enables people to think a lot more about themselves since they post about their feelings, opinions, etc, and I think that’s why we see so meant people making things about them and being prone to being more emotional, rather than restrained and dignified.
It's ok. Just let it flop. If there are people, who want to reward this nonsense, let them waste their money. But it won't be a lot of people, Universal will lose money and they won't try this on us again.
Your video is so well written! The topic transitions are extremely smooth! Congratulations! All this stardom syndrome of today reminds me of the Barbara Walters interview with Alan Alda in the 80’s; it’s really interesting, if you haven’t seen it already.
I remember when watching celebrities was always fun and interesting and entertaining...and now we have Brie Larson, Rachel Zegler, and the cast of Wicked. And the effect is the opposite: I hate these people and I would never want to see them in a movie. How has Hollywood gone so wrong for so long now?
The culture shifted, social media became widespread, and egos swelled to ludicrous proportions, and that's not even the worst part of it all but the site would hide my comment if I went further.
For me it’s the nose piercing, mostly, but also the claw nails and then the piles of earrings. I just find all those things jarring on anyone. But mostly…I can’t with the septum piercings. I don’t know why anyone would ever get one 😳 I agree she looks amazing as Elphaba
Martha should have snarled "Back off, b*tch! I'm NOT a poodle!" And then I would have gone over to Martha's website and buy some overpriced sheets in approval.
I don’t know if the Hollywood bubble realizes that we’re done with them acting like this. Maybe the superfans aren’t, but we’re tired. Cynthia and Ariana are so out of touch with reality to the point it’s comical.
I'll say this...at least Ariana Grande still looks human. "I feel what it's like to not fit in." Yeah, we know. You've gone to great lengths to make sure you feel that way.
I'm a theater kid that became a profissional musical theater actress so ofc I love Wicked. But how can I describe this entire Wicked movie experience?...Bit much.
What the heck are you talking about Wicked is a story told from an entirely different perspective than the Wizard of Oz. the wicked witch isn't entirely evil or good and neither is elphaba
If you saw those two walking down the pavement towards you, you'd be like "what the hell?"... Ariana is skeletal, and Cynthia's nails... well, I guess she doesn't wipe very thoroughly.
I've spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking about that problem... and my best guess is: They use the heel of their palm. It wouldn't work very well... but it would work well enough to serve as a stopgap measure before taking a shower.
I had severe depression for a very long time (I’m obviously much better now). Wanna know what actually saved my life at one point? (Besides psychotherapy): Lord of the Rings (Books and Peter Jackson‘s Trilogy). Two works of art, bursting with sincerity. Not these fake parodies that mimic human beings. 🤮🖕🏻
Since the beginning of Hollywood, actors have always been manufactured though, and the studios worked hard to make stars somewhat relatable. For example, when Elizabeth Taylor was a teenager, there were a myriad of articles printed about how she was 'just a regular girl' going to the beach and to football games. Elizabeth herself said later that it was all rubbish. Expecting authenticity from Hollywood is like expecting water in a desert. Hollywood, by its nature is all superficial and contrived.
They both remind me of the aristocrat class of previous eras - vapid, vain, self obsessed, flippant. Putting on outrageous outfits just because they can. Dripping in privilege and boredom so they event drama just to have something to do. Their entire appearance is carefully crafted at all times and they are constantly acting out a grandiose persona when on camera. Just screams narcissism. Cynthia’s bizarre appearance says it all. They might as well be aliens to me.
I just don’t think either one of them is very good at acting. The first time I saw Cynthia, she was in a Steven King adaptation called The Outsider. She was doing the weird thing that actors do when they want to play someone on the spectrum. She didn’t at all fit the characterization in the source material, and now I know why: she couldn’t just do the character, she had to put her own spin on it. And it wasn’t good. Edit: gotta love Denzel’s clip at the end.
I’m a huge Wicked Musical fan so this is all just a reminder for me to pay attention to what’s on screen and not behind it. I have no intention to pull back the curtain and see who the Wizard really is.
I have just begun watching your video, and I just wanted to express that I was quite interested in watching the movie. I had no idea about the history, the plot, or anything else related to it. On the other hand, following the most recent drama, I am not sure whether I want to continue watching it. Cynthia came of as such a brat! One of the most privilaged individuals in the world, screaming racism and sobbing over something so trivial. In addition, because of the widespread exposure that celebrities receive on social media, it is becoming increasingly impossible for me to differentiate between the artist and the person themselves. Observing their public behavior makes their films increasingly hard to believe. I can no longer watch a movie without seeing the actor and their entire personal life instead of the character. It prevents me from experiencing the joy of watching the film and fully immersing myself in its story. I saw the Blake film before the controversy broke, and I could not see Lili Bloom; I could only see Blake. As a result, I find myself wanting to see other films that are not as well known, that have actors who are not as well recognized, and that are frequently made in languages other than English. I found that I truly enjoy Korean dramas as well as movies from France, Spain, Denmark, or Sweden. 😅😅😅
I don’t like either leading actress. Ariana is annoying and a homewrecker and Cynthia is just hostile and toxic towards fans. They really dropped the ball on this one. They should have just released a full pro-shot movie of the original Broadway play, like Disney Plus did with Hamilton.

I think social media has played a huge role in the lack of authenticity and humility.
Remember, kids. The Wicked Witch is not evil. You are. You are for thinking of her as evil.
There's no such thing as right and wrong, but you're still wrong.
@AF-tv6uf it was not right or wrong. It was evil.
Post-Modernism and it's destroying our nation & culture.
there's no such thing as good and evil, but you are evil
What the heck are you talking about Wicked is a story told from an entirely different perspective than the Wizard of Oz. the wicked witch isn't entirely evil or good and neither is elphaba
Your channel is such a much needed perspective in this society❤
I've nvr seen Wicked but if I wanna watch a movie about friendship I'd watch The Shawshank Redemption
If you saw those two walking down the pavement towards you, you'd be like "what the hell?"... Ariana is skeletal, and Cynthia's nails... well, I guess she doesn't wipe very thoroughly.
Bidet??
Yeah what the hell is up with these chicks trying to cosplay Lady Deathstrike 24/7
@@bZmanMoney doesn’t change class is why.
I've spent an embarrassing amount of time thinking about that problem... and my best guess is:
They use the heel of their palm.
It wouldn't work very well... but it would work well enough to serve as a stopgap measure before taking a shower.
Imagine dealing with piercings with those things on! Those tiny ball bearings are a pain In the hoop without talons lol.
These people have graduated from annoying to completely insufferable.
I thought I was miserable and chronically cynical. But you win.
Exactly 👏🏻
They both remind me of the aristocrat class of previous eras - vapid, vain, self obsessed, flippant. Putting on outrageous outfits just because they can. Dripping in privilege and boredom so they event drama just to have something to do. Their entire appearance is carefully crafted at all times and they are constantly acting out a grandiose persona when on camera. Just screams narcissism.
Cynthia’s bizarre appearance says it all. They might as well be aliens to me.
Humbleness is a VIRTUE! FOR BOTH WOMEN AND MEN! Opposite of humbleness is pride - a deadly sin.
Pride comes before the fall
I just don’t think either one of them is very good at acting. The first time I saw Cynthia, she was in a Steven King adaptation called The Outsider. She was doing the weird thing that actors do when they want to play someone on the spectrum. She didn’t at all fit the characterization in the source material, and now I know why: she couldn’t just do the character, she had to put her own spin on it. And it wasn’t good.
Edit: gotta love Denzel’s clip at the end.
All I’m saying maybe they were cast because they are in fact wicked
I’m a huge Wicked Musical fan so this is all just a reminder for me to pay attention to what’s on screen and not behind it. I have no intention to pull back the curtain and see who the Wizard really is.
Another great video. You are the cream of the youtube crop ma'am.
honestly. I am so sick of them
I have just begun watching your video, and I just wanted to express that I was quite interested in watching the movie.
I love seeing so much of my own thoughts reflected in your videos…. I am crying so hard right now , can barely type 😭😭😭😭😭….😝
That Denzel clip hit it right on the nose, thank you for introducing me to that clip; I’d never seen it before this!
My respect for him grows with every interview.
Ariana, the female MJ. Obviously without the you what. If I want to remember a year I go by her skin shade and voice pitch.
Goes out of her way to look different then complains about people saying something about her being different. The nose ring ALWAYS gives it away
Why do they always have to have a bloody nose ring?
They really need to get over themselves 🙄
4:26 and wtf is she wearing??? Why do they all dress like this??
To signal that they’ve transcended mere peasants like you
Let's let them have their last sparkle of fame since it's a matter of time when celebrities will be forgotten for good🎬🏁⌛️
Ariana Grande is clearly not ok because she’s starving. Eat some food girl 🤷🏼♂️
I think I heard somewhere she’s on a vegan diet. Feed her some steak and eggs
@@jaredschmidt8013I'm glad someone else is saying this. Apparently they are both vegans!
@@barbaragibson612
I have never seen a vegan be as healthy looking as an omnivore. Not once

Literally no one with nails that long is okay.
I don’t like either leading actress. Ariana is annoying and a homewrecker and Cynthia is just hostile and toxic towards fans. They really dropped the ball on this one. They should have just released a full pro-shot movie of the original Broadway play, like Disney Plus did with Hamilton.
Haha GLORIOUS!! Thanks Baggage Claim, you're the best :D
