While AEW is using their show to be a 2 hour blow job for Jericho's career, New Japan has been killing it with the G1 and ROH is doing a good job with their Pure Tournament. Jericho had the gall to criticize Kyle O' Reilly and Finn Balor for being dangerous yet conveniently ignores his co-workers doing dangerous career ending pointless stunts. BTW don't let hasbeens like Jericho and never was like Dr. Luther spoil you on wrestlers in their late 40's and older. Minoru Suzuki is 51 and is still incredible.
ROH is boring! They had a chance to be second under WWE just like Impact and now they can't afford to at least with a good looking production. New Japan does not look that great either. It's pretty much company policy in AEW to openly attack anyone that doesn't automatically suck up to them, despite the fact that they've done absolutely nothing to deserve any respect or admiration. Their talk of inclusiveness is just another lie. Jericho is either becoming a legit jerkoff, or his true character is finally being revealed. Starting to think he's desperate for that paycheck for some reason.
@Chris Terry as time goes on, I'm leaning more and more towards that idea. He's even resorted to defending matches he's done before they even air. It's so fucking weird. Makes me wonder how someone who appears to be such a bitch managed to survive in WWE for as long as he did.
Jericho is a prick. Met him at his first fozzy concert in uk and was a real jerk off. Went right off him then and it’s no surprise to have everyone finally seeing it.
@@alexpolanco7885 I think it means that AEW should be paying Jim to give them criticism on their programmes so they can act upon it and make AEW a better show

Chris Jericho went from saying he would never wrestle for anyone besides Vince in the states to not only doing that but slinging sh it at them to boot all in the span of two years. Kinda shows how much his word is worth
1. Jericho claims his Wrestlemania match with Kevin Owens was supposed to be the main event. When it wasn’t, he got butthurt. Also, that year WWE turned down his offer to book NXT talent on his cruise. I think both of those contributed to him looking outside WWE.
@@walruswasrob This is a fact. Triple H shit on him with the NXT thing like he has consistently through the years. Impact and ROH helped Jericho have wrestling on his cruise like he wanted. Ofcourse he would continue to do business with the kind of people who were willing to work with him.
@Chris Terry I got into an argument with. Jericho/AEW Mark where I basically said what you said. That was the Wrestlemania in Orlando. There was no way in hell that the Jericho/Owens comedy angle was going to main event Wrestlemania above Brock/Goldberg and Taker/Roman.
@Lynchology101 I don’t know they’ve shown many times in just their first year that they are open to doing things differently or making changes if they see evidence that it’s necessary. They dropped The Nighmare Collective after bad feedback. They moved Alex Marvez out of the commentators position even though he’s good friends with the owner and is a name in sports announcing.
I can't wait for Corny to pop up in AEW like Lawler did at ECW. What did he say? "This place must be built out of toilet paper bc there's nothin in it but crap!" LMAO
Did Jericho really quit WWE so he could make a better product with AEW, or did WWE just not offer him the money he wanted because he isn’t the same level Chris Jericho any more and AEW were willing to pay for someone who doesn’t care any more?
He decided he wanted to 'prove he can draw' and be the big fish in a small pond, but landed in a puddle instead. Not sure hes proving anything on a show with half the viewership of the show he left.
I showed the Luther match to a friend of mine who watched a ton of Monday Night Wars. He finished it and the MJF segment afterwards and responded "This is extremely cringe. Why is Jericho so fat now? Why is Ralphus in the ring wrestling him?" He still doesn't believe me that the fighting game community is all in on AEW and that people who "haven't watched in 10 years" are coming back for AEW.
Jerichos become the grand old bubbly man in a company thats essentially a C list WWE knock-off. All one has to do is read what goes on in AEW week to week and realize it's a indy company with a cushy TV deal and billionaire money
It was a total Jericho stroke fest show. He does deserve recognition for until recently a great hall of fame 30 yrs but his match really should've been booked wayyyyy better with an actual opponent because of it being a special night.
They had Lance Storm congratulate Jericho on his 30 year. Why didn't they bring him in for the match? At least Storm looked like he was still in shape and could go and they broke into the business together.
Nobody will accept the truth, but here it is: Despite all the titles, and all the attempts to put him over, Jericho at best was a solid midcarder used to put better talent over. His legendary Undisputed Title reign was him getting HHH's dog run over after pooping on live tv. He didn't even get a proper rematch, it was all about Stephanie vs HHH. He was jobbing to a rookie John Cena few months later. "But the feud with HBK in 2008" it was still around the second show and the second belt in the promotion. What you are seeing now is Jericho without bigger talent to make him look better by association: Austin, Rock, Cena, Orton, Batista, Edge, HBK etc.
@Oong The Last Airbender That's because as Leigh said he's a lower main eventer. He's the guy you sometimes want in the main event as a filler feud to shine the champion up, he's no main event by himself. Despite being in the title picture against many names, he won the IC title like 50 times and the world title once, and they used that one time to market him for years (JR always repeated in his entrances "he beat the Rock and Stone Cold on the same night"). He won the WHC after it was already a minor belt in the second show.
It's this whole "Jim Cornette only says the things he does because he wants a job" narrative all over again. As much as i'd like to see the results of Corny's input on AEW (and god knows Tony needs a Corny, or a Dutch Mantell, or preferably both), I wouldn't want to wish that constant anger on Corny. I actually like Jim. Also he's said that it would cost him money to work in wrestling again...
Yeah, I don't think that's a real thing. I mean, sure some people may say that but I doubt it's a widespread thing. I doubt it would cost him money either, I am sure he is quite comfortable, but I doubt he is that comfortable. If he were to work with them and their viewership doubled (not that unusual, especially when you consider that over that many tune in to raw) he would have a seven figure contract just based on the add revenue and increased merch sales he brought in. The big issue is his get rid of everybody instead of lets work with what we have attitude.
"The next match we're going to talk about is Kenny Omega Vs Pock...I mean Orange Casssidy. What an absolute sh...ow of extraordinary psychology in this match. Omega pointed at Cassidy who put his hands in his pockets and I was blown away...blown away... just blown away... *sound of gunshot* *silence*
Jericho's in hard for AEW because Tony Khan and co. worship him. Giving him an episode long celebration for 30 years in wrestling where you can't reference the first 29 years of it is proof.

I've been watching pro wrestling for over 30 years and arbitrarily expecting people who have been invested in something for even half as long, to suddenly accept their interpretation of evolution, is bullshit. I had such high hopes for AEW until I saw how the hardcore fans and upper management treat anyone who doesnt blow em lavishly on a weekly basis. If someone's into it, I'm not gonna knock em, but I'm allowed to not like things and this is why I just avoid everything Vince and AEW puts out and I just plunk down $10 a month and watch NJPW and the sad thing, is navigating their horrific web service looking for Stan Hansen matches, is more entertaining to me then 97% of anything AEW has put out the past year.
Jericho needs checked for CTE. His work is amazing? A 20 year old Jericho would kill himself he he saw what he became. Chris has been my favorite wrestler behind Hogan since 1996. Im embarrassed for him.
Seriously... When did Wrestlers from before and now become such wusses... Do you think that Bruno Samartino would cry and wine because someone said they didn't like the match??? Hmmm I wonder..
I think what Chris was saying is, if Jim would merely critique rather than destroy, they might have hired him as a consultant, but with the way he does things, he's got too much heat with too many of the wrestlers (and I'm sure Tony Khan himself) to ever get any of them to listen to him. Personally, I would love for Jim to consult for AEW because he wouldn't be scared to speak up. Arn and JR have both said that they just accept the way things are done now. Of course, no one is going to change how many high spots are done and the speed of the matches now, but that doesn't mean you can't speak up about some of the silliness, lack of psychology, and a lot of the just overall bad habits that so many of the green wrestlers have that need to be broken. Jim would have no problem bringing that stuff up to the talent. Can he say it in a way that they'll actually listen to it though is the issue. People now a days don't respond to being called idiots, yelled at, told they're completely awful etc. That worked 30 years ago when it was common. Now it's very rare and people respond to it by just ignoring it or saying "fuck off."

Nobody will accept the truth, but here it is:
Despite all the titles, and all the attempts to put him over, Jericho at best was a solid midcarder used to put better talent over.
He's a lower main eventer.

Apparently money can't buy either. Happiness NOR misery. 🤣
