@@AaliyahCapili wow im very surprised for your answer Thanks a lot and continue with your reaction to Mexican music you will be surprised about the quality of my people
Aaliyah, don't worry about your pronunciation it was near perfect, the only thing why i don't say perfect it's because it sounded more neutral than any neutral spanish i've ever heard, coming from a mexican, believe me, your spanish is really good. José José's parents were both musicians, his mother was a concerto pianist, and his father was an opera tenor, so yeah... he has a very classical training even for a self taught singer. His father whom died from alcoholism never wanted any of his sons to have anything to do with music since it was a very hard career where you put lots of effort for little opportunity to succed, specially in México at the time and this brought a little drama to his house in the beginning. José José's birth name is José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz, he chose the stage name José José after his late father since he also was named José, so his name represents not only himself but his father and his unrealized dreams. As his father, José José battled through alcoholism his entire life, even to the point of sleeping in the streets with other alcoholics despite of all the success that he already had, he gained and lost a lot in his life, incluiding his voice, which by miracle he recovered and then had more success than even before, only to completely lose it again in his later years as a consecuence of the alcohol and drug abuse in his earlier years and finally to throat cancer. He died of pancreatic cancer in 2019 at the age of 71. He has known as "El Príncipe de la Canción" (The Prince of Song), i strongly recomend his so called prophetic song "Seré" (I Will Be) which foreshadowed everything that would end up happening to him in his career.

How sad (a person) everyone say I am
Que siempre estoy hablando de ti
That I am always talking of you
No saben que pensando en tu amor, en tu amor
The don't know that thinking of your love, of your love
He podido ayudarme a vivir
I've been able to help me (to) live
He podido ayudarme a vivir
I've been able to help me (to) live
Oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh
Hoy quiero saborear mi dolor
I want to savor/taste my pain today
No pido compasión ni piedad
I don't ask for sympathy nor pity
La historia de este amor se escribió
This love's story was written
Para la eternidad
For all eternity
Qué triste todos dicen que soy
How sad (a person) everyone say I am
Que siempre estoy hablando de ti
That I am always talking of you
No saben que pensando en tu amor, en tu amor
The don't know that thinking of your love, of your love
He podido ayudarme a vivir
I've been able to help me (to) live
He podido ayudarme a vivir
I've been able to help me (to) live
He podido ayudarme a vivir
I've been able to help me (to) live

At the 6:24 minute mark of the video they show the reaction of Marco Antonio Muñiz, one of the best singers of Mexico. The lady shown before him is lso another artist of renown, good singer and also actress Angelica Maria, and if I'm not mistaken Alberto Vasquez is also there with his ever present cigarette, another well known mexican singer and actor.

The crowd and everyone around Latin America watching this show which was broadcast life around many countries in 1970 thought he won that competition. However, the judges and producers had a different singer win it and José José was given the third🥉place, not even the second 🏆...😅😅 Today , 54 years later, no one remembers who placed first and second but José José Is known around the 🌎.
I was 3 years old when I watched it on a small black and white TV with my siblings. I still remember that night. A ⭐ was truly born then
Many thanks for sharing

BRAVO MASTER!

That's why they call him the PRINCE OF SONG...
😍😍😍
Oh wow thanks soooo much for your kind words and for sharing all of these, i am truly grateful. Have a great day always ♥️😍♥️
