Fun Fact: "Poison" was a huge comeback song for Cooper, who released five Platinum albums from 1970-1975 but fell out of favor over the next 12 years and battled a debilitating drug and alcohol addiction that nearly killed him (he got sober for good in 1983). The song vaulted him back to the charts and into the public eye, earning him a whole new generation of fans. Cooper-loving parents were thrilled to see their kids discover him, and entire families started showing up at his concerts.
For the love of God !!!!! 70's Alice / not hair metal era !! Billion Dollar Babies ( 73) 🔥 It's like reacting to Aerosmith Crazy before reacting to Sweet Emotion Etc Alice was huge in the 70's . Whomever suggests this before the classic 70's Alice kindly give yourself a headslap.
Guy is such a unique personality. Crazy on-stage, a showman who mixed his music up & had an 80s resurgence with this one. Really intelligent, philanthropist & heckuva golf player. Has done golf & motorcycle charities & after years of drugs & alcohol, became a Christian...still married to his wife Sheryl.
This song for Cooper was, in my opinion, one of the better comeback songs out there. Considering his difficult past with drugs and such, he bounced back in a major way. The next song from Cooper would be his classic, School’s Out.
Alice Cooper lived next door to Groucho Marx and they were such good friends that when Groucho had one of his bouts of insomnia he'd phone Alice and they'd sit watching old movies all night

Alice played in our town in 2024 with Rob Zombie. While he was in town, he visited local restaurants, and attended a local church service with his lovely wife. He really is two completely different people. His personality is very different from his persona. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
This song played non stop on MTV europe for a while there. This was on the tail end of the "power ballad" era and was kind of one of the last hugely popular bangers of the style.
Saw him briefly around 2010 in London s Selfridges-)) chatted for a minute like " oh, hi sir, how are u?" , he was a bit surprised-)) seems a a nice guy .
Funny story, I was playing in a club in Montreal in the early 2000's and backstage there was a wall full of famous autographs like Sting, David Bowie, Brian Adams, Alice in Chains and many others and right in the middle was an odd name ''Vincent Fournier'' so I started laughing out loud and showed it to my guitarist and he stared at me funny and said ' You don't know who that is ?'' to which I answered : No !!!! He replied : That's Alice Cooper. I felt like an idiot.
As I remember it was MTV hit of late 80s. That song his comeback as I understand ( though I never really followed his music / art) but that what was talked about at the time.
You should react to the song The Man behind the Mask. It's a song he wrote for Friday the 13th part 6 Jason Lives and it has a video that's off the chain
Alice Cooper is great.. lots of ups and downs in life... But the struggle never got the better of him, I think Alice is more Theatre than pure rock and roll, his stage shows are like going to a pantomime show.
Love you talking about Ghost. Waiting for a new album & tour. The concert movie, Rite Here Rite Now, is available on DVD/BiuRay. Was #10 at US box office when it came out.

Hahaaa I knew some people were gonna be upset and they didn’t disappoint 😆 Still love this song and idc 🤷🏻♀️ You’re welcome for the Alice doll, guys 😊
He's interesting. First as a trendsetter. It's easy to look at it now and see him in a genre but he was one who was defining this path along with KISS known then I think as "shock rock" which was treating rock and roll as more of a performative art. In that the other thing I think is interesting and via your questions about him is he has always went out of his way to make it public that this a performance and under that makeup is a real person with every day mediocre interests. He is particularly interested in golfing and charity work and personally serves at soup kitchens during the holidays. Much of the "dark" stuff at the time was more the subject of sensualist media and performers like him where more trying to illustrate systematic issues typically church and state as well down to war. Then contrast by what freedom was supposed to look like which is to be free and enjoy yourself. His added horror inspiration and he became a tv horror icon as a result. But the humility always remained with him and he would often debunk any notion that he was some sort of supernatural figure who was versed in the dark arts and wanted people to remember this is all just for fun and play. Especially then so kids would not get the wrong kind of inspiration. Like Ozzy he of course also did a lot to try and raise the public consciousness in regards to mental illness and the struggle of it. Though in his case he has also always been opposed to drinking and drug use or promoting such things. Likewise debunking any attachment to his own image as was very typical for rockers in his time. Anyway interest artist here. Part of someone I had to study as a child as well my mother was a huge fan and all his records and interviews where in my home to pick apart. But Alice Cooper is a character and stage act, make no mistake and Vincent Furnier the artist that created him.

A man so evil he was on the Muppet Show
Some people say his 'Trash' era was his worst, but it's by far his most epic stuff.
It's fine for 80's but Trash Talkers haven't even checked there classic 70's material yet

Just a gimic. He is a very strong Christian. Both Alice and his wife are the children of ministers.
The man actually built community centers for kids, plays golf, does charity, and is even a sunday school teacher.
Ive seen Alice Cooper twice and the only crazy thing he did on stage was bring out a huge python for a song.

Every time I see Alice Cooper I think of him in Wayne’s World and the scene with him talking about how Milwaukee is an old Indian name 😂

Alice is touring right now. He always puts on a great show!
Great stage show. He had a small part in the movie “Wayne’s World” playing himself. I love the whole movie but his part is my favorite ❤️
Poison from Bel Biv Devoe is what you were singing at the beginning 😁
You should react to the song The Man behind the Mask. It's a song he wrote for Friday the 13th part 6 Jason Lives and it has a video that's off the chain
Part of the trend of having metal songs as horror movie soundtracks (eg. Dokken for Elm Street) that was started by AC/DC for Maximum Overdrive
Probably the song that inspired him to be casted on Wayne's World.
Alice Cooper is great.. lots of ups and downs in life... But the struggle never got the better of him, I think Alice is more Theatre than pure rock and roll, his stage shows are like going to a pantomime show.
