Maybe one of the greatest "super bands" ever. Jimi Hendrix's drummer (or maybe we should start calling Jimi "Mitch Mitchell's guitar player"), Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Keith Richards. How can anything ever beat that lineup? Awesome job as always, Sam!
@@GaryBook in my book, they are THE greatest. An actual band that put out real albums. If Dirty Mac stayed together, and wrote new music, and put out an album, I have no doubt it would be perfect.
Amazing cover Sam! Even if its just the pentatonic, Clapton's playing during this performance always inspires me. I actually just bought a cherry red Epiphone 335 this month.
Просто замечательно ! Здесь прекрасно всё ! И гитарные партии,сыгранные один - в -один... и,инструменты... И правильно подобранный гардероб всех участников... А ,теперь ещё и ударник ! Супер ! Восторг ! Большое спасибо!
Even though I much prefer the white album version, this performance of the song and the fact that it's the Dirty Mac playing it is the coolest thing to me! You nailed every part Sam, amazing job as always!
A very true to the original cover. The 'Dirty Mac' was the best performance of Yer Blues, although Live Peace in Toronto was very good as well. Clapton took it from a 'parody' song,a joke about English Bluesmen to an authentic rock and blues masterpiece.
Hey Sam! Kind of a long shot but i’m trying to learn Lennon’s rhythm guitar part but I can’t find anything online about it. If possible, would you mind sharing to me chords, techniques, whatever John used for this song?

@@sampopkin Keith did a good job on bass. But he was naturally a guitar player. John was the living embodiment of a sturdy back beat. And I'm sure John Lennon would have enjoyed working with him. Though with the Who's constant touring schedule, I don't think it could have happened.
Awesome cover! I love this version of the song! I do have a question regarding John's tone, what made you settle for the bridge pickup? I always thought his tone sounded a bit Fender-esque, so I always assumed the neck pickup was involved somewhere.
Thanks. Looking closer at photos from this live performance, it does look like Lennon was in the middle position. I was just trying to get the closest tone possible Also, Lennon around this time almost exclusively used bridge pickup with the tone knob rolled down (get back)
@@sampopkin I understand! Yeah, he did use that bridge tone a lot for sure. Again, great cover. I always loved how not only did they have Mitch Mitchell on drums, but they also tuned down to Eb, really gave it a Hendrix flavor even though he wasn't a part of this.

crazy little detail
He even dressed like how they did in the original
They are all playing tuned half a step down not just John tuning his low E down to a D#

Congrats on the new purchase!
My guy even tracked down a Fender Showman for the one-off Clapton tone. Respect
Bassman, but close enough 😎
Unbelievable playing! The dirty mac version outdoes the beatles version by a mile. Awesome job!!!
To each his own. To me, it doesn’t come even close to the original. Sounds like a generic “power blues” tune.
Mitch Mitchell's drumming is too lackluster. If it had Ringo's groove and fills, this would be the better version.
Have to disagree with you there - the Beatles version sounds far more dirty and gritty in my view ….
I love them both, for different reasons!
