Hey Daniel! I wanted to thank you for keeping up with makin videos here. I don’t always watch them the same say they come out - but i get to them as soon as i can. Not sure if that makes things harder for you as a creator - and i often forget to comment. So i’m commenting now. Yer insight is pretty awesome! I’ve brought some rpg stuff you’ve reviewed - because of yer analysis.
I really like what I am hearing about your Land in Peril game. I didn't know there was a boardgame and and RPG but that is an awesome idea. I am so glad you're planning on giving this game a long tail. Congrats on 20k subs! You deserve it man!
I was also a KS backer for this - it's such a great tool. I like it so much I also backed the Dungeon Room deck that just finished as well. Definitely something to keep handy for solo play but really quite versatile if you're also into gaming with others. I know I sound like a commercial, but it really is something every DM should have.
Were these on the actual Kickstarter site? Were they still going to be available somehow? This is first time im seeing these, i just never know or hear about stuff when its actually in active funding, then i find out when its too late.
As always great stuff :-) something that I think you could mention if you videos like this is you can get these things printed off locally very cheap. I am going to get the Hex Deck printed off on 300gsm cardboard 9 pages all in colour for 3.66 Euro :-) its good for international people since delivery from the card printer comes from the US and shipping plus taxes are insane!
14:00 That is a great idea, at least for solo games, because having the character killed at the start or while the adventure unfolds, can be very disappointing for the solo player, and let's be honest, it can make you cheat in your own game just to have the whole adventure finished. No one likes to restart the same adventure every couple of hours because the damn dice decided to exterminate your character by a lousy rat bite....😂
So, could the Hex Dek and the other card sets be played out in a solo type of game or is it by design made to be played with a group? I have enjoyed hearing about your development of your Land of Peril game! I am not sold on using the personality determination for an encounter especially if the creature is undead and not intelligent. Perhaps a way to decide if a encounter would lead to a fight should be determined first without the assumption that every creature can be had for a conversation.
I pledge for a ton of Philip Reed’s stuff (including the Hex Dek) but I was disappointed he used AI art portraits for the NPC deck you showed. I just can’t support that.
I’m ok with AI art, especially from an indie designer who can’t afford expensive art assets. I’d rather have that than no art. I also like sampling in music, collage art, and plunderphonics. But everyone has to make up their own minds on these things. I don’t buy video games made by Blizzard because of a lot of reasons, so I understand taking your own stances on things. Keep it up!

Good tip!
Dungeon crawler with cards? Yes, please!!!!
I love this deck! Besides, with Canva it automatically diverts the colored hexagons, so I very quickly made a large card with an A4 format

Is ‘the dungeon one’ On The Other Side kickstarter you are referring to?
Yes
Thank you sir

I only play solo, so they’re good go solo. :)

Why not?
I plan to do the same because
A) making the art by myself will take for ever
B) I sure can't afford to pay a good artist to do it for me.
