Oh - how true. I've seen the series in the 1990th when I was a teen. How I wish there were just a few seasons more. Fraser was quite influential on me ... I'd like to keep rules just like him. ^^

Always wanted to get, but either never had money when in stock or never in stock when had money. By time could think order online, price nuts now hard to find.
But is on Netflix and recently rewatched entire series.

@@marcelmoreau2733 I feel your pain - I'm hunting for the whole series in German dubbing (my parents are huge fans too since the 1990th, but both don't speak English). I have series 1&2, but 3&4 would cost over 70 Euro. :o

@@chrishieke1261 for a lomg time they aired in on a french channel out of Quebec here in Canada. At like 2 in afternoon on tues and thurs or some odd sched like that. They did the same thing with the 199ps superman show Lois and Clark, played in repeats until at least 2014 or so.

When I was in Canada some 15 years ago, I accidentally dropped my wallet in a store. Seconds later, a lovely man in red serge tapped me on the shoulder, 'excuse me Ma'am, I think you dropped this'. He handed me my wallet and I was star struck. I was too shy to ask if we could get a picture together, but my host wasn't, he went up to the fellow and asked. So, I have a photo as a reminder. But, it really was like stepping into the TV set. God, I love this show, and if the young man who returned my wallet is reading this, I want to say: thank you for not only returning my wallet, but giving me one of the best memories of your beautiful country that I ever had.

Due South is the greatest Canadian television show of it's kind ever. Paul and David made the best duo. Where else could you have a bunch of guys dressed in red surge singing and get away with it. "All The Queens Horses", the episode with the song in it is the best episode, next to "Juliet is Bleeding".

I was in my mid-to-late late 20's when Due South was on the air. I'm 50 now. It's amazing to me that so much time has passed! Paul Gross is one of my favorite actors, and he's not a bad singer, either. Not to mention, easy on the eyes! I miss this show. We need it back on the air. Maybe INSP or one of the other Satellite networks will show reruns of it. A lot of today's TV shows just don't appeal to me. Television was sooooo much better during the 20th century!

A lovely thing about this show is that you can watch it when you're a kid, a young teen, and an adult, and you'll get more from it every time.
You can enjoy the hero and buddy-cop plots at any age. Get a little older and you start to appreciate the way Fraser and Ray (either of them) are almost always there for each other, and the times when they aren't just serve to make it obvious that the partnership is intentional and worth the trouble.
And then you get older, and start to appreciate how good-looking several of the actors are, and feel the turbulence of their love problems.
And then you realize that the whole time, they were demonstrating civic duty and basic decency toward those who are less fortunate, and these are things that aren't often demonstrated in the media. But these everyday things seeped into your understanding of how regular people should behave, and how everybody can be a hero to somebody.

@@OrigamiMarie My feelings exactly about this! I first watched Due South as an adult, and your last paragraph sums up my reaction. I get the other points; I'm overjoyed to see so many people here commenting about how it has influenced their childhood. We need more tv shows like this. The stories we tell our children are so important - they guide the advancement (or decay) of our society.

We got this show back out as part of nostalgia. My family had a hockey tourney in Niagara, was listening to the show in the van on the way up from Pittsburgh. Now we can't get this song out of our heads. Paul Gross is so talented.

Now she wants to watch them again, but I don't have them. sigh I sure hope she finds them, because I still haven't had a chance to watch them the first time. We watched that show together when she was a kid, and it turned her on to Canadian music and Canadian History. I know it's just a TV series. But it opened doors.

One of the greatest things to come out of Canada, next to Micro Brew and Maple syrup haven’t seen this series in years, had to find it to see it again and it is as good now as it was then and I was just a child when I saw it first.
