Toronto is a fabulous world class city. I live on the border with Canada and here we have two tone squirrels. Either black/brown or black/gray. If you go a just a few miles inland away from the border, they are only pure brown or pure gray. They border jump for some interracial lovin lol.

Allo miss Marie 😀 Yeah! more Canadia Sightseeing 🍁
T- O makes quite an impression with its Architecture doesn't it even when it does clash with what's more modern, It interesting going around Kensington market no matter the weather with its rich mixture of cultures, it does have a bohemian vibe about it like the yellow jamaican house & what there smoking in there, reminded me of greenwich village. I liked the bunny statues if that's what they were, coming up to 2023 it's going to be the year of the 🐰.
That meat cheesy dish was fulfilling, I don't blame you for not finishing it 🤪 & no trip would have been complete without a Tim Hortons, you know they've also got a 8 ball chocolate one to , those mini 🍩 are perfect for any roadtrip, why they don't have any branches in France but they do in Spain & Britain beats me considering the ties , you can call yourself an honourably Canadian now. I pleased how smoothly it went back across the border, hopefully you'll be able to explore more of the city again without time flying by like the hockey 🏒 hall of fame, Union station or Elgin winter theatre & going to Quebec is bound to feel more like a home away from home with its old worldly streets, maybe your also venture out West to the Calgary stampede 🐎 Yee haw!
I always appreciate all your editing/ soundtrack efforts , as for the the black squirrels , don't worry there fur gives them extra protection from the harsh weather, looking forward to Lancaster & if you got to met any Amish.
Thanks again & that your family had a wonderful magical Christmas 💖🎄🎀
With a Prosperous new year to come 🥂✌️

I cannot wait for you to see: Quebec City (the most European looking city in Canada) and surrounds, Zion National Park, Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons, and New Orleans. That leaves out the West Coast, The Deserts of the American Southwest, and Grand Canyon, but those are other adventures and series of travels (in size Canada and the US would surpass all of the European Continent twice). Loved (as always) the video.

Speaking as an Ohioan who has been to Toronto, I'd rate it as the best large city to visit, of all the ones I've been to (which includes Chicago and Cinci, as well as a number of less-desirable ones: Syracuse, Columbus, Cleveland, Toledo, ...) I wouldn't want to *live* in a large city like that, but they can be great to visit.

@9:30 - yes, Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world - over 140 different languages are spoken in the city. The most common language after English is Chinese, followed by Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Punjabi. Strangely, only 1% of the population of Toronto claims French as their first language. But that's still about 30,000 French speakers...
When you drove from Kensington Market to the city centre, you went through the largest Chinatown in North America.
There are a number of other ethnic neighbourhoods in Toronto - Little Italy, Little Portugal, Koreatown, Little India, Little Jamaica, Little Tibet, the largest Greektown in North America, and the largest Polish festival in North America.
It's too bad that you didn't get to see any of Toronto's parks. The park system consists of about 1,600 parks, totaling almost 8,000 hectares (about 20,000 acres) of city-owned parkland, which amounts to 12.7% of the city’s land. The city is also home to Rouge Park, a 5,000 hectare (12,356 acres) national urban park managed by an agency of the federal government.

Hi there Marie!!! 😉😉!!! This was a really fun visit from Niagara to Toronto and back! You opened with such a lovely last view of the Falls, and then through the rain to Toronto, and its multitude of black squirrels (which I did not see when I was there many, many years ago. It has changed, with old architecture buildings standing among skyscrapers in that downtown area with all the shops. Jimmy's Coffee was cool, and wow, so many fish laying out. That yellow brick House of Moses was fascinating and makes me really wonder what is in there!?!? 😲 I would have loved trying that meat lover's poutine with you - it really looked good (and stringy) to me ☺. You even got the sun to peek out from behind the rain clouds! Those were some pretty strange looking sculted animals in that yard, with those squirrels hiding under them. I was wondering what in the world those sculptures were, lol? I actually love souvenir shopping for family, and that did look like a great shop for that. You mentioned they have lots of homeless folks, as do most large American cities as well, especially in places like L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland. I love that you found the people nice and friendly, especially the sweet girl in the restaurant. You seemed to enjoy your Tim Bits too 😁. I am soooo glad you did not relive the border incident, as your friend said, "Marie didn't cause any trouble" 🤣😂🤣 - that is just sort of who you get as border guards when you get there! Wow, a 6-hour drive to that hotel would have certainly tired Ron out . . . I don't know how you did it, and even kept on filming, WOW! You know what, I look just like you examining my hotel rooms 🤣😉. You showed us near the end that very cool Calvin and Hobbs book (I love that cartoon!!!), and I saw you using all those power extension cables and connectors you bought before your trip - YAY!! I love your organization and wish I could be like you in that respect, with all your backups of your pics and videos and data - very cool Marie! I obviously don't know yet, but I hope you enjoyed your trip to Lancaster, PA and the Amish country! ? That is a place I would dearly love to explore like you did, and have always wanted to all my life ❗And I hope you got a good night's rest at the Painted Post before your PA trip day. This was another fun day to spend with you and your friend, AND in another country too 😄🤩!! Thank you so very much again, Marie, for sharing these beautiful and exploration-filled days of your fantastical/magical trip, and please take care 🥰❤🙏❣

In French or in English, as you chose! and sorry to contradict you but Tim Horton's is all but French!

The Amish speak a very antiquated form of German in private but speak English to normal people. Just don’t be surprised if they don’t fully trust people as they are raised like it’s the 1800s because of their culture. You can literally pick them out due to how they dress in old fashioned clothes, just do not approach unless you have someone to do the introduction first.

I am so happy for you that you were able to visit my country (USA), you must come back. I understand your comments on "Sweet People". Americans and Canadians are genuinely polite and nice people (some are not of course). I spent years in Europe and Asia and I can honestly state that the nicest people in the world are from New Zealand. Japanese and Koreans are very polite and good natured but it seems to me that they are that way due to their cultural upbringing and seems phoney and not particularly preferable to Foriegners.. Like you when I lived abroad I was homesick, my internal compass always pointed to home and believed that is where I belonged. Come back soon, we all love you. • @bobbbxxx

Toronto is close to the American border, so it's climate is very similar to other northern Northern American cities. In much colder places of Canada than Toronto, the squirrels actually hibernate through the entire winter, then wake up in spring. I've occasionally seen a black squirrel in NYC but in Toronto they are the dominant variety!

Sounds a lot like NYC, when I lived there in 1970's. There was and always is a lot of street construction going on. Big cities are like that, from what I've experienced. By the way, you can find any international food you want in NYC if you know where to go, ie: they have little Italy, China town, in Astoria it's all Greek foods, and the Jewish Deli foods in Katz's Delicatessen, Zabar's on Broadway..too many to mention..wonderful cheese cakes, bialy's, bagels & great corned Beef/pastrami sandwiches. too many yummy dishes, pastries to mention!

I use to hitchhike to Toronto from Delaware in the 70s. I'd stay at the YMCA for 25 cents. They'd kick you out at 8 am so I'd sleep on the park bench. First time I saw those black squirrels which freaked me out. Never saw a black one before.

As the saying goes, in Canada, we have two seasons - winter and construction. Not that they don't do some construction in the winter, just that it's only the really necessary stuff then, because everything is so much harder to do when it's -20°C out. So 95% of the work gets done in the 6 months of good weather we have between May and October, and I guess you were there in late September or October, as the trees still have their leaves for the most part, but some have changed colour.
On another note, it feels kind of weird as a Canadian watching videos like this, because inevitably, when people come to "Canada" they go to Toronto, or Vancouver, or sometimes Montreal. If they're smart, they might also go to Calgary and Banff, to see the mountains, or if visiting Toronto, to Niagara Falls (both of these non-big city attractions are well worth the time). But that's it. So people go back home and talk about Canada to their friends, but they haven't seen Canada. Not really. Even if you acknowledge that people won't visit the areas of Canada with almost no people living in them (i.e. most of it), the big city experience accounts for like, less than 5% of Canada's reasonably-inhabited areas. It completely ignores the Maritimes, the Prairies, rural Ontario, rural BC...this is a beautiful country, with a great deal of geographic diversity, and most people will never see any of that. In one day, obviously none of that is possible, but people taking vacations here sometimes spend a couple weeks in Toronto and its surrounding areas, when a better plan might be to spend a few days in Toronto, the drive to Ottawa (where it's worth taking 2 or 3 days to explore, Ottawa is a beautiful city), then going on to Montreal for 2-3 days and Quebec City for another 2-3 days (or even the Eastern Townships, near the US border, for a more relaxed diversion into nature) before returning to Toronto and leaving. It's still not a lot of Canada, but for a 2-week trip, that's about the best you can do - it allows you to see some of that geographic diversity, and also includes English and French cultural experiences, which is nice.

There are pockets of Melanistic squirrels in a number of areas. I know of one near Washington DC, and another near Pittsburgh. I guess they breed true within their group. The one in Toronto seems to be rather big.
