The I8 has to be the most misunderstood car of its kind. Especially when you realize its got a 3 Cly for gas power. I remember the first time I saw one and thought oh wow that's cool that has to have a V8 lurking in there. You see the sticker price and think they will never sell one with that power plant. They are pretty rare on the road, and I think largely that's the appeal of it. It is stealthy fast gets really good gas mileage and proves plug in electrics. don't have to be boring. With GM building the E ray Hybrid, and Dodge trying its hand at electric can't wait to see what comes next.
@@SabbathDay I have the Roadster as well. So does my best friend... and he also has a 992, a V10 - RD, Ferrari 458 Spider and a few other exotics. Guess which one he likes to drive most? Same as Prof. Dr. Rosemann. I wonder why? No, I don't wonder why anymore, because I've driven all of them.
I have had 3 i8s own £4k mile Roadster. In 2021 Autotrader had 234 coupes and 67 Roadsters - in Feb 23 just 123 coupes and 20 ROADSTERS. when they get to 6 or 7 cars values skyrocket just like my SLS, Z8, CLS, 996.1 gt3 did....get one now while just over half retail as they'll be back at retail in 5-6 years and twice retail in 10-15 years !
@@SabbathDay yes and no. There are several mclarens in my area and I could never tell them apart. The rivian is distinctive and gets more attention than the mclarens. So if ppl drive super cars or mclarens to get attention, the rivian definitely does the trick. One of the reason why I don’t drive the rivian around town as I don’t like attention and I felt like every dad in town has stopped and asked me about the car.
@wasabi9111 I hear you. But it's a truck. The novelty is there, and it would get my attention, too. But I have yet to see another i8 Roadster on the streets. There are less than 4000 in the world. I'm glad it's not super fast. Some cars are dangerously swift. And I would be concerned about a huge truck that's not nimble, with so much power.
This is so far the best looking car that BMW ever made. They need to give raise to the designer of this car.

A future classic for sure. I enjoy my i8 Roadster more then our 992. It is more rare then the Z8 with only 3883 built. It will never be cheaper....
What? More enjoyable than a late model 911. Please tell me why? I have the Roadster, too.

@@rodgerlee7302 I'm in shock! Lol. But it's a nice shock.
You enjoy it more than a 992? Curious to know how?
I have a roadster as well and was considering buying a 992 turbo s in its place.
I own the first edition 1 of 200 roadster. I don't know why but I still like this better than M3, 4, 5 or 6.
Love this review and your enthusiasm for it! I'm on my 3rd year with the coupe and still loving every second of it. You've got my subscription!
I really appreciate it!!!
Are they really coming out with 2024 i8 ?
Supercar looks. Sports car performance. Family car economy. 🎉

awesome !!
Entertaining vid man
Unfortunately the NSX is not a convertible.
Great video but the Acura NSX did the “daily hybrid supercar” better in every way. Looks, powertrain, and reliability.
But it's a lot more money, poor gas mileage, and not droptop. I'm good with the Roadster.
@@SabbathDay I agree with your assessment as well.
Great Car
What is the exterior color? Looks awesome. Thanks
It would’ve been amazing if they could’ve put the B58 engine in it 😂😂…in addition to the hybrid motor
Fair doo’s but does the Honda’s roof flip off ….. 😂 … it’s a different car/class not saying the NSX is not a fooking awesome motor
Commenting for the algorithm !
this guys legs are absurdley skinny.
I’ve never been into super / hyper cars since they are out of budget. I’m even more uninterested now that my rivian could easily out accelerate them.
But your truck is nowhere near as gorgeous!

Where I live Rivians are about as common as Teslas. And Teslas are more common than honda civics.@@Wasabi9111
This car is underrated
Truly
That interior is weak.
Best looking bmw interior I’ve seen of this gen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
