Bringing a car out of winter storage is always a special moment. But when that car is a perfectly restored 1970 Challenger R/T, the moment becomes that much more epic.

The car is 50+ plus yrs old,and still runs great!
I am 65 yrs old,I remember Vanishing Point, and cheered on Kowalski with every mile of his run!
😁
Still a great film, all these years later.
There's no "vanishing point" for that baby ... WHAT A BEAUTY!!!!
you know what... I have tears in my eyes. It's my child's dream to own one... white, just like yours... this is poetry, pure poetry, a medicine for a romantic soul. Greetings from Poland.
When the garage door opened and all I saw was the floor, my first though was, it's stolen.
Sorry about that.. maybe we should have mentioned it is a two car garage. haha
Could you imagine the reaction of the people in the apartment above the garage when Nick first fired it up.
Lol. Same here
I thought the same myself. It turned into a very suspenseful shot.
Same here! I thought Nick turns around and IT'S GONE !!!
This color, this wheels, this gear shifter - the car looks amazing!! It’s real Kowalski’s car. Just like in a movie. Great job!!
Who in the world would down vote this. Two beautiful classic muscle cars representing the glory days of the factory muscle wars.
Although I had a diehard Chevy friend who disliked the movie because the Challenger wasn't actually destroyed at the end. It was a 67 Camaro that went up in a ball of flames.
Any 1 who would down play these 2 cars dont know what a real car is ...this 2 of the old school ledgends ...
Nick..you need to bring the car to the US and travel the same route that was used in the movie...Iam a huge fan of Vanishing Point and I remember going to the theater in 1970 to see it....I was 16 at the time
There is something special about a car you maintain, repair, build yourself. Its a very personal investment.
What a Awesome car brother , looks like it came off the show room floor👍, the first year of the Challenger and the most popular with over 580,000 units made compared to 1971 with less than half that , what a variety of different engines , transmission's etc .for the very first year , and Color variety's , unreal👌💯😎 what a car👌
It’s a great Monday morning when you get to hear the vanishing point Challenger fire up yeah!
Right on. Thanks for watching.
Mopar or no car :)
Wat*** Don't B Scared Nick... Give it A Dance
Waiting for a Rippopp???
That Cuda is beautiful
And the car is driven!
A beautiful day, a man and his car...exhaust burbling, gears whining and shifting that pistol grip. You just can’t ask for much more than that. Love it Nick!!!
What a treat to see two old Mopar's going down the highway together!!! Thanks for sharing that with us!
Glad you enjoyed it
2 BIG thumbs up.. you need to find about 100 miles of open road and really let that big boy SING.. I love them both man i wish i stil had my 69 Road Runner.
Kowalski is back!!!! Heck ya.
One tiny good side of the long winter.. is how much sweeter it makes that first drive.
First drive after the long vinter here in Sweden is a great feeling 😎
So nice to see the Challenger and Cuda cruising the highway together. Well put together video George. Yes Nick, that first drive after a long Canadian winter is good for the soul.
Nick's taking his pride and joy out for the Summer He's worked man and boy to make many of these a runner It's a fantastic sight to see A ringer for the Challenger in Vanishing Point which is a pleasure for me I love to look The way it picks up is off the hook A true classic in my book Looking mean but it needs a clean It's one serious machine and the fulfilment of Nicks dream Testament to the quality work done by Nick and his team Epic convoy rolling out A Cuda and a Challenger I give both a big shout out Lovely day for a drive and what a way to arrive That's why Nick's Garage continues to thrive
Thanks for riding with us, Roberto.
@@NicksGarage That was class Keep taking names n kickin a**
Nothing beats the warm tingling feeling of the first drive of the year
Mornin Mr Nick! Have a Great week!!
Good morning! Thanks for watching, Pappy.
Sweet ride Nick . I am sure you get a lot of smiles when you are driving it .
Good morning from Minnesota!
I HATE MONDAYS!
BUT THANKS TO NICK AND HIS CHALLENGER,
it made for an awesome start to the day!
Thanks
And all those gain dish soap commercials have inspired me to throw away my dishes
Good to see you have your baby back! I like when you were talking about the dump truck the people in the next car we’re looking over at you confused Johnny needs you to install a new turn single canceler for him
That is such a beautiful car, it looks better than when it left the factory. The attention to detail Nick put into this Challenger is amazing!
I like the way you drive Nick, one hand on the wheel and one hand on the stick, that's old style driving to perfection.
What a smile it brings to Nick. He loves it.
Right on.
Thanks Nick. A (Mopar) friend with a storage garage is a friend indeed. Tip of the hat to him.
There is nothing like getting back on the road and going for a drive with Nick in a classic muscle car on a Monday morning. Thank-you Nick, and thank-you to Nick's Garage! You are getting this year started right!
Right on! Thanks for joining us for the ride.
Eating lunch and watching Nicks Garage. Best lunch hour ever. Thanks for taking us along for the drive.
What a gorgeous car - congrats Nick! I don’t think anyone doubted it would fire right up, we all know who built it!
Good morning Nick, It's good to see Kowalski alive and sounding good.
Good morning Eugene! This felt amazing after months in storage.. can't imagine how good it will feel for you.. after decades.
@@NicksGarage
Nick you are so right, about the feeling you get the first time you start your car up after a winter storage. I remember how it felt to drive the Charger, for the first time, after I got back from Viet Nam. My first drive in the Charger in a few months will be epic, and I will remember that feeling forever. Maybe we can make a video of Kowalski, and the 500 cruising down 440 together, that would be awesome.
@@eugenecastles7475 that would be very cool.
@ Eugene Castles That would be absolutely epic.
@@NicksGarage Sir,
Your Clutch Pedal is squeaky 🤣🤣💯🕊️☮️🎈💞💕💞💕
Nick you need to take a road trip with the wife and get away for few days with your supper cool 1970 Challenger.
2 BEAUTIFUL cars on a beautiful Sunny day !! It just doesn't get much better than that !! Nick I am sooooo happy for you ! You have worked long hard days to have that beauty and you CERTAINLY deserve it !! It put tears of joy in my eyes for YOU and tears of sorrow in MY eyes because of the HEMI ORANGE '71 440 6Pak with black interior, blacked out hood and partial R/T side stripe I was FORCED to sell via divorce. Some people can be CRUEL. Mine, like yours was a COMPLETE bare body up restoration. GOBS of money and spared no expense. I also LOVE the whine of that gearbox !! What beautiful music she makes !! She's an absolutely beautiful car !! Enjoy .... and hit 3rd gear once in a while and think of me !! GOD BLESS YOU SIR !!
Sooooo good to see kowalski back on the road! The world is right again!
Nothing like getting your car out of storage, feels like driving it for the first time all over again
Nice Nick!! Takes me back to the
early 80s when I had my 79 Regal
with a Buick 455 and Turbo 400
transmission!!! Dang I miss that
car but you know how it goes,
get married have kids and before
you can blink your driving a van!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Doing just what those cars were designed for.... driving!!!!! Not sitting in a collection somewhere never being driven... awesome!
Couldn't agree more!
Kowalski would certainly approve!
Glad to see it being driven and enjoyed.
Hope so!
I didn't realize it was such a long garage so at 1:15 thought someone had stolen it. Once I saw the name in the title I instantly thought of what in my opinion is one of the best road movie ever made, Vanishing Point. I still remember watching it when I was twelve and it ignited my love of muscle cars.
I like how you check the mirrors several times before changing lanes. The people in a lot of videos don't do that.
Ignore’s all stop signs though
Those mirrors are tiny. My brother has a Left hand drive challenger in Australia and it’s a bit nerve racking checking the the mirrors.
One more critical thing. Nick you forgot to buckle up.
A lotta people don't do that in everyday driving.. Ask a biker 🤔
If you knew how Quebec'ers drive, you would understand why!Lol.
Glad to see the car back....absolutely beautiful.
Maybe Uncle Tony can tune it with his "Marlboro method". He smokes a cigarette close to the carb and intake and looks for swirl patterns in the smoke.
Wisdom my friend.
Owning this car for me would be luck, for Nick it's the reward of his efforts, enjoy it Nick, you deserve it so much, am jealous and full of admiration.
Good to see and hear its out again Nick.
Love when you gave it a squirt Nick, that 440 sounds so good mate 👌 cheers from Melbourne
Nice to see you get your favorite ride out for the summer, I hope you have some less populated roads close by so you can enjoy unleashing what’s under the hood? I feel blessed to live in a less populated area where we’re able to drive our muscle cars on good roads and a lot less traffic and don’t have to worry about upsetting the neighbors that don’t appreciate what we love! Keep sharing your wealth of information, it’s greatly appreciated.
Good evening Nick. A bit late for today's episode. Awsome to see your favorite car on the road again and the smiles per miles it puts on your face. Awesome stuff
Like our parents told us Nick - You will have more pride in something if you earn it by working for it than you will if you have it given to you (or if you steal it) :)
Right on Nick! Now it's definitely time for a poutine😎
Sounds good!
U know l never thought l would live to be as old as l am,sure never thought l would ever ever see a brand new Dodge 1970 Challenger out on the street with a Plymouth 1970 Cuda....Man O man does this ever take me back...WOW...Thanks Nick....Excellent...!
The smile on Nick’s face says it all
Nick, I love that video, it reminds me the first time in the spring when I take my old plymouth out for her first ride. It's a better feeling than buying and driving a brand new car for the first time, looks like it hits you the same way.
When Nick takes his Kowalski Challenger out it's official, it's summer! 😎👍🏻
Right on!
Just need to spot a street sign. Mind you, it looks like you crossed the new Champlain Bridge, so it could be on the south shore. Well, I spotted a sign for the Newstar Motel, that’s in Saint Leonard. Right on Lacordaire. 😂 you can run, but you can’t hide Nick!! Then on 40 east… past the old Mayrand’s….heading for the 25 north. Ha! You’re almost there.
Damn she sounds and looks absolutely gorgeous!..just the way it sounds going through the gears brings back old memories. Thank you sir for sharing. You are truly blessed to be able to still drive your love.
Nick hearing that old buzzer sure brought back some memories! In the Old days it was the First thing you would silence!!! Old girlfriend hated the sound.
I get it, I remember talking the buzzer/horn relay and breaking the tab off so no buzzer, and still had a horn.
You should have heard the real Hemi engines
I remember taking the buzzer out of the fuse box and bending the tab over. No buzzer, but still had the horn. One relay, 2 jobs.
Yay! Summertime in Canada. As a child my family and I would travel by car from Philadelphia PA to visit my cousins near Toronto.
Your winters ARE too long! Finally you get to enjoy the fruits of your labors. I am very happy for you. Cheers Nick! ( And Vasily and everyone else!)
Kowalski and the Cuda look amazing Nick. Stay well.
Great to see you out enjoying that beautiful car again Nick!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
I'm almost 70, me and the grandson watched this video and he asked me, what's the point of having a car like that if you don't open it up, at least on the interstate . I agreed, I kept waiting for you to drop it down a gear If only for a short pull Just to hear the sound. I still like your videos and my grandson has one of your T-Shirts..
Did u not see the end of the video
Gorgeous challenger. Love the Cuda too!
yea liked the way he passed just enough throttle let him know
Oh man that is sweet music to my ear , thank you Nick for showing this beautiful work of art .My mother worked across the street from where you put gas, it was a caisse desjardins in the 70's that brings a lot of memories. I love the back plate , this is so cool .
Glad you enjoyed it
Outstanding Nick. Watching you drive that beautiful Kowalski reminds me of a funny story when I was 15. I talked my dad into using his 70 GTO Judge to get my steering papers. I left the local Legion Hall with the Examiner with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on the gear shift knob. He immediately instructed me to go around a War monument then park where I had started and cut the engine. He then gave me a stern look and said " young man this is as far as I go with someone who drives with one hand on the steering wheel." Sonofabitch must of. Had muscle car envy
Geez Nick, I damn near dropped my Nick’s Garage mug watching you back out of that garage and drive your car in traffic. People generally do not respect classic cars in traffic. In fact sometimes they’re intentionally hostile. Best editing yet George. Fabulous video!
The rest of us gearheads are circling around the car on the highway to check out the beautiful style of the older cars.
@@Orcinus1967 Thumbs up are always in order
Camera could use a stabilizing arm in some shots...
I don't blame you for not using the sholder harness. I had the same setup in 70 Camaro and it was a pain . Following the big trucks keeps the glass people in business.
You can't see anything behind them either.
Thanks for the ride.
Coffee and eye candy for breakfast. Can't beat that!
Nick, your smile made my day. Oh what a beautiful rebuild and the very best to you.
The Kowaski is a work of Art, Nick. ❤
My first car was a 70 Challenger; they will always have a special place in my heart. Two great cars, love that 'pistol grip' MT!
What a joy too have that in your garage.
Good morning Nick from mid Tn. I actually got excited when I saw the title of the video. Happy to see her back in the sunshine.
Just had to see the completed result. Fine job, absolutely gorgeous! I'm a Chevy man, but as a true gearhead I appreciate the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into creating a masterpiece like this. This was a labor of love, and it shows, congratulations again Nick! Glad I discovered your channel!
I know and love the sound of a big block Mopar!
Nothing sounds better then old school muscle 👍🏼
She looks and Beautiful as the video on the first drive. The camera views were great almost like we were riding in the car with you. You and your team did a Awesome job on her.
Great to see you back in the Kowalsky Challenger, I'm currently in lockdown doing job training in Quebec but all I dream of is the day I get to leave and get into my Camaro!
I wonder if Nick flashes back to his younger days in the seventies every time he grabs onto that pistol grip shifter?
Kerry. I sure do.
He looked younger during his drive.
I sure do as well .... owned a 71 Charger RT 440 mag then 70 RoadRunner 383 both with pistol grip shifters and that is thee only way I’ll drive them . Hurst shifters don’t even equal the satisfaction of Mopar pistol shifters.
@@rockngpa5094 . I just want to let you know that the pistol grip shifter is made by Hurst for Chrysler. # 1 shifter in my books also.
O M G, Love hearing that sound again! Brings back good memories. Thanks Nick
Beautiful Nick. Love your smile when you saw the old girl again. It's beautiful thing cruising down the highway on a beautiful day in your favorite muscle car. You deserve it Nick. All the years of hard work and your love for muscle cars. Great editing George. Really enjoyed seeing two beautifully restored vintage Mopars crossing the bridge side by side. That's classic. The whole video was amazing start to finish. In previous videos l do love those close ups near the tail pipe and close the road action shots. Gives that all round muscle car driving feel. Yes Nick muscle cars do live on through our difficult times. Lol. The name of the street in front of shop is it called " Nick's 440 speedway " yet. LoL. All the best to the boys. Cheers, Alberta.
Aaahh, a man and his Challenger!!! Nothing like being able to enjoy the work of your own hands, eh Nick? 🙂 It's great to see how much you enjoy yourself in that car: I want to build a Dart myself!! Fantastic day to you and your crew!!!
Love the ending video were it looks like it was hand drawn. Always loved the Challengers a friend of mine owns a 1971 Challenger
Thats an amazing restoration, the Challenger looks and sounds fantastic! 🇨🇦🇬🇷🇺🇸 ✨🏁🚘🏁✨
Nothing like watching Nick while dealing with COVID.
Joe Biden said it can spread through comments be careful of others
@@topreviewer5923 bahahah ❤️
good morning nick George and everyone else hope all is well with everyone 👍🇨🇦😁
Good morning Danoh. Have a great week.
Nick, thank you sending me Nick’s Garage Emblems & Patches, that I proudly display on my car and Man Cave. Awesome Ride Nick, you deserve it… Enjoy!
Thank you Nick for sharing your beautiful 1970 Challenger summer start up and drive home.
I would love to have either one those cars, both are beautiful. Loved the film work of you side by side and swapping lanes. Great job.
Thanks for posting on Sunday morning! It was great to grab the tablet and see what was new! Great to see this car back on the road. It gets me motivated to get my Challenger out of storage as well.
The 'Cuda and Challenger look good together side by side on the freeway!
As usual I find this chanel to be Educational, Informative and Entertaining. The TV networks need to take note.
Plate [C]
Glad you enjoyed it
It’s great to see nick in kolaski again what a car it’s perfect
Kowalski... which is kinda slang for anybody/anything Polish... in movies/TV/real life...
Guess I spelled it wrong 😂
I love it. I was just watching Vanishing point the other day. This proves Summer is around the corner. I love the camera angles
I'm glad Nick drives normal, don't hold back!
I've loved these cars since I was 5 years old and loved the 'Vanishing Point' Challenger from the moment I first saw it.
I'm really happy for you Bud. I followed the build and it was awesome.
I was looking at the exhaust thinking how much time you spent getting it perfect. Thank you Earl (The weather God) for providing a nice day to showcase the Kowalski Challenger.
That's it. I was going to take the long weekend Monday off but you've inspired me to go work on my old muscle
Hello Nick! This is your friend John from Portland Oregon. So glad to see the Challenger out of storage and you enjoying it on such a beautiful day! What a gorgeous car Nick! Looks like all is well. :)
It's decided - if I find another '77 Cordoba w/a 360 & 727 setup, I'm sending it to Nick! It's not the dream car (that would be a '68 GTX), but a Cordoba was my 1st, & when she fired on the 2nd turn of the key after a few weeks of work, it was satisfaction. I know where a '79 Cordoba is, but I haven't tried to get it away from the young man that has it now - yet. :)
Love it ,I was a kid growing up in New Zealand and saw that car in the movie and great to see you restore yours
I love how you got that car look and Nick man you did a good job on it
Great to see those two cars cruising back to the shop. Car is stunning nick.🏴
Nick.....during the early 70s, I worked for a hemi and wedge blueprinting shop, building cars for the dragstrip and "serious" street racers. One of my friends owned a '70 Cuda AAR and we traded cars for a day. (my '56 Belair) I don't think I left him much rubber on the tires. Worked on many a Challenger...your car and your friend's are great examples of the best of both models. After all the driving on the surface streets, glad to see you finally got it into 4th gear on the highway. Like the Vanishing Point reference...stay away from bulldozers. Enjoyed the video. Great memories.
The. Thanks for watching.
