Highlining 101: Section 2 of 7 - Preparing to go Highline

- Опубліковано 1 сер 2024
- Welcome to the original reason I started this channel… Highlining 101 or “How to use a highline that is already set up.” This is 80 short videos squished into 6 categories and 7 videos. You can skip along in the chapters in the timeline or watch the whole thing. If you are a pro, we recommend you share this series with new highliners before you take them out for their first adventure. This also would be great if festivals recommended this to anyone arriving that might have never done it before.
We overkilled this project, but it turned out great. We had a lot of great help because we wanted to make sure we included everything and didn’t miss important stuff. We may make a followup 8th video and update the textbook from the feedback you give us. Thank you to Dan Walsh from slackline.us/, Daniel Ristow, Rocco Fucetola, Cam Peters, Aaron Free, Kyle Lovett, Nick McPherson, Cristiana Rodrigue, João Portales, Leonard Ferrari for all the help!!!

16:11 slaps hard. Haha wish more people knew about contributing empty space.
what can i bring, what can i bring......nothing so you can carry my shit hahahahaha
Lots of things I hadn't even considered. Thank you!
amazing series
the backpack Beta is so key!! I cannot stress how many people show up to go climbing with the smallest little pack, don't carry in rope or gear, and don't have any space to put their layers when they get warm.
Great video. It’s like dealing with knives everyday. You’re going to get cut. You’re going to fall
Thank you so much for these!
Super useful, stoked you decided to upload these 🤙
That little girl at the park thought you were some kind of alien lmao
I just love this channel and all of its premium content!!
That was seriously enlightening. Thanks so much!
Thanks for your videos! 🙏
thanks for water bottle tips, relly helps me out for my first 24h trip
🤣🤣 "...Adrenaline'd..." love it!! I want this on a HN2 shirt!! 😍
Damn it is good weather out there, I'm jealous!
Ryan: I’ll probably never try highlining cuz my wild hair days were all worked through years ago snowboarding, doing martial arts, mountain biking & going to tons of SF raves BUT your channel is still super useful because competent rigging spans all activities with little/zero margin for error. Plus the videos are insanely cool. I’m wondering if there are any survival stories yet out of the slacklining/highlining community? Like crazy weather or getting lost etc? Pretty much all wilderness pursuits eventually result in some unanticipated wilderness survival tales & if you know any good stories that people could learn from it’d make a cool video. Like stories of a group who thought they were headed out for the day but wound up doing an emergency bivouac or dealing with wilderness trauma? Like “Survivorman meets highlining” Anyhow I share your videos on twitter and the way you care about others is awesome, bro. If I was 20 years younger I’d probably be out there wobbling around too 🫶🏻
I can only hit the like button once. damn it!
Watching it a second time after it got listed xd
me too :)
Me three.
Haha 😝😆 me Four ~; )
that's awesome to hear. these don't get the views but they help the most rather than just a few silly test. I try to mix it up between what I know is going to be popular and what is going to be helpful
5:30 isn't that an american death triangle that you want to avoid? Or is the setup just so overkill that you don't mind the extra forces?
Hey Ryan! Love the channel and all you do for the community. I know this isn't a slacksnap vid, but I couldn't find a message option. Any chance you would be willing to test a "highline quad anchor" found in slackchat on FB? May be a good future rig over a BFK. Thanks man!
we will be testing all anchor types this year
@@HowNOT2 that's awesome man, thanks! Keep up the amazing work!
I’m the kid in the background at 9:40
