- Tyler Gaenzle, is an ex-Coast Guard Helicopter Rescue Swimmer now turned Air Force Pararescue Jumper. In this episode, Tyler shares the mindset required to complete two of the military's hardest selection programs; compares the challenges of both schools; and reveals his experience carrying out the PJ mission on his deployment to Somalia. Tyler also tells his incredible Search & Rescue story where he saved the life of his fellow Flight Mechanic by creating a body belay with a rope and hoisting him down a mountain. The show ends with Vince and Tyler exchanging tales of ice climbing in Alaska.

Just found this episode of the podcast. A pretty good interview would be with Mike Fish (RS284) He's got a few Air Medals and great rescues from Clearwater and Sitka. SAR runs in his Family with his father being a PJ during Vietnam and they had his Dad on an old TV show called This is Your Life and brought back people his dad saved.

You’re never too old. I’m 26 with a deployment to Afghanistan, Thailand, and the Border about to switch over to the Navy to try rescue swimmer. Just don’t quit.
