    Peter- your videos are so informative; thank you! I always thought the down-eye vs. up-eye didn't really make much of a difference. Thanks for showing the underwater footage. Now I'm going to pay a little more attention to my streamers. :-)

      The ironic thing about that video is that I had messed up the leader mount for the up-eye hook fly so it was running at about a 2" disadvantage compared to the down-eye fly. So add another 2" to the depth the up-eye hook. The water was bitter cold (late November) as I wanted to get the conditions as clear as possible, so my hands were freezing from being wet. I wasn't in the mood for a re-shoot when I saw the mount problem. ;)

    Very informative. Always wondered why down eye,up eye or straight hooks. Please make more detailed informative vids. Thanks Mark

    Peter ,I may have asked you before,but how about a topic on weighting Tube flies? I am starting to use them more for bass this year. Thank you

      I actually have a few videos that cover this already. Check out the one about having your tube flies ride level. I get into mixing copper and aluminum or copper and plastic to weight the fly and achieve a level ride.

      I am using barbell eyes and tungsten beads. Have not used them yet,but I am looking forward to it. I do remember those videos and will watch them again.

    Great information,the 1 fly/streamer that should have been brought to the table is a clouser type minnow,a streamer with either bead chain or weighted eye,they fish with a whole different motion,loop or clinch knot thoughts on which to use for streamers

      That's a subject for another video - can't stick too much in one otherwise no one will watch it.

    Peter, How do you feel about straight eye hooks for streamers or wet flies?

    • @hooked4lifeca
      @hooked4lifeca  3 роки тому

      Better than down eye hooks. :) I use a lot of straight eye hooks in my saltwater streamers.

      I notice in alot of your streamer tying videos most of your steamers are done on down eye hooks.
      Is that because where they originated from? ( Traditional)
      Great stuff Peter!

      @@fabios35076 Yup, just respecting tradition. My own streamer designs are different, but I try to stay faithful to the old patterns.
