Our whole family saw them for the first time last night, like many others, and it was absolutely mind blowing! Amazing! There’s another chance tonight! Go see it if you can, you won’t be sorry! It might kind of look like just some wispy clouds, take out your phone and look at them through your phone and they will “pop” with color! A three second exposure is perfect.

Really? So people aren’t actually seeing this unless they use their cameras/phones? That sucks, but I guess it makes more sense than what I’d thought (that a huge chunk of the continental US could see something usually only visible jn polar/subpolat latitudes).
