I don't get why people are saying that album released in 2016?? 1, there is no album called "spirit phone" and 2, Neil never released an album in 2016??? Perish point was in 2015, I'm confused.
Oh, there's actually a fan album called Spirit Phone! It's like a weird alternative universe style reworking of Perish Point! Has a lot of interesting takes on the album, like mashing up Father Frost and Unified Theory or putting NOEYEDANT PT. 2 over the old demo for "ALL THE WORLD IS YOURS EXCEPT EUROPA MAKE NO ATTEMPT TO LAND THERE" as the instrumental. They kinda-sorta botch the biggest track, Strange Things Happen, by replacing the drum track mainly, but even that has some nice touches to it. I always thought the outro would make for a better intro, and there was a nice subtle moment where, when the lyrics say "no sound", they cut the instrumental for a second. That was cute. It does also outright replace album tracks with demos (could you imagine if When He Died made it on the album instead of Before You Were Born?), which I found interesting. There was a weird bit where they removed the connection between both NOEYEDANT parts, which was a weird choice imo. Obviously not as good as the original, but still worth a few listens imo.
I only learned about Lemon Demon like a month ago, so I was late to the party. And the song that introduced me to them was the Jaws song, that just played randomly on my UA-cam while cooking, and I was like "who the hell is this, this is hilarious." Later I looked them up and fell down the rabbit hole with Spirit Phone and have been obsessively listening since.. I was born in the early 80's but I notice he seems to be very Oingo Boingo/Danny Elfman influenced, which is more my brothers era but that I've grown to love (possibly more than him) and listening to this reminds me very much of Forbidden Zone (which if you all haven't seen is worth the watch... Just to imagine how the hell this got made, wouldn't be possible today. A fun head tip.) When I listen to Spirit Phone, it's very theatrical and I imagine in an alternate universe it having a long connecting music video/movie ala Michael Jackson, Forbidden Planet or even Rocky Horror, which wish he could've done. All I can say is please please Sir Neil, make another album that compares to this one. I know it took him like 7 years to perfect this one, but we all need more Lemon Demon in our lives! 🙏

Okay, so I'll be honest, this was incredibly beautiful and reminded me of my first time hearing spirit phone in its entirety. I love this so much and think there a few bad points but the amount of great points outweighs them. Keep up the great work, my guy.
I haven't properly listened to anything by Neil for 2 years and only found this by looking through the "Other Artist Comps" section of Yedits Tracker. This is incredible and also very disorientating because I can only half-remember where the vocals I'm hearing are originating from.

This is too cool to describe. I absolutely love that almost all bonus songs, scraps, 2012-13 album previews, snip-its, and even demos are used. Some of the clips like the beginning bit to no-eyed girl [known as no-eyed ant for select parts being used in both no-eyed girl and spiral of ants] dates back to Neil's "deporitaz" days, and it's not even a well known demo, only featured on a select few channels only on UA-cam, and it makes me very happy of all the bits gathered to make this. Hell, you've used random scraps and unreleased tracks that arent even part of the spirit phone album, like one weird tip. The remix of everything is too good, and can probably be confused as an entirely new album released by Neil himself. Keep up the fascinating work fam. You've truely amazed me. :D
A quick correction, "noeyedant" does not date back to Neil's Deporitaz days. Neil's stated publicly that he thinks it dates back as far as 2007 or 2006 (I can't remember which one right now) on both the commentary for Spirit Phone & on Twitter, which was far after the death of Trapezoid (not including Circa 2000 since that wasn't really so much as new content released under Deporitaz more so it just being unreleased scrap material from those days).
i like how each song completes each other, just like in the original Spirit Phone album, when a song ends, another one starts in a way that you won't even notice
Noeyedant, Pt. 2 needs a solo release because oh my god the perfect mix of the instrumental half of One Weird Tip with Spiral of Ants transitioning into Noeyedant and No-Eyed Girl's outro, yes yes yes please Love this album, shame my other comments to this effect got deleted by UA-cam I presume

I love hearing how you clipped up Neil's songs to remake them you genuinely did a great job. I don't know much about audio mixing it just sounds nice to me. Your composition is significantly different but still flows so well with Neil's overall style of music it's so cool. Just this whole idea of reworking an album especially with soundbytes from other projects ugHG. Romantic. Thank you for making this man. I wish it exploded more it fucking deserves it, but just know it's really appreciated and really good!!!!

this is a super cool experimental mashup of the spirit phone demos and stem, a lot of fantastic choices were made here that breathe so much life into the demos! my personal favorites are Strange Things Happen For No Reason and Freak. ancient aliens 2012 is such a forceful track and you did it justice! personally some tracks arent as cohesive as others - kubrick and the beast+cat hacks is excellent but the soft fuzzy man vocals dont mesh well, IMO. and i wish something more was done with Before You Were Born, but the use of that one cut preview track with the piano is so fantastic. overall there's so much more to love, from the transitions to the bonus track mashups. im gonna keep coming back to this one

Thanks! You're right. It's probably posting this as an album that's limiting its audience. But, I think if I were to post them individually now, I'd probably want to touch up a few things now that I found a better stem isolator program (Spleeter) and people would probably prefer it if were to remove the transitions. I'd also have to rerender everything. It'll be a lot of work, but maybe if I just dedicate a day to it it'll be worth it. As for if I will do the same with other Lemon Demon albums, I'm not sure if I will. If I were, I'd probably do something with I Am Become Christmas, Nature Tapes, and the remaining Spirit Phone songs since those all have official stems. The rest of Neil's work is pretty inconsistent in terms of which have isolated instrumentals and vocals available, and I'm not sure if I'd want to mix genres. The main appeal of doing Spirit Phone was that there were a ton of in progress stuff that I could work with, and now that I used the majority of it, I'm less inspired. The remix project I really want to do is the Kid A/Amnesiac era from Radiohead. The Kid Amnesia game has tons of variations and stems have been ripped from it and I haven't seen anyone do much with them. At the moment, however, I'm working on my original music, plus I have several other ROM hack projects which are my current focus. Perish Point was primarily made between college classes for fun, so I imagine once the next semester starts up, I might be inspired to put some more remix stuff together.

The Kid Amnesia game has tons of variations and stems have been ripped from it and I haven't seen anyone do much with them. At the moment, however, I'm working on my original music, plus I have several other ROM hack projects which are my current focus. Perish Point was primarily made between college classes for fun, so I imagine once the next semester starts up, I might be inspired to put some more remix stuff together.
