I work directly with contractors and homeowners. People paying big money do care about your name. Hence “word of mouth.” If they can’t remember the name, you aren’t getting the referrals.
@letsplayminecraft5424 i love that name 😂. I worked for a painting company called Image Painting and the owners son owned a landscaping company called Image Landscaping was Image Exterior Designs. i like that name like they try to do your image of what you want...
Sometimes I check out the lower star companies. Sometimes when you read the comments on those businesses you find that it's a bunch of people crying about dumb things and essentially being bad customers.
I actually look for the lower reviews to see if they make the minor things I like done like up their messes or how many times they've had returns for mistakes
Or how quickly they can get there, like when the well pump seizes up, and all the heating/plumbing companies are busy with furnace calls. Thankfully we found a plumbing only company
It does actually matter. I can prove it to you. I guess it depends on the business though. Im a dog breeder, groomer, trainer and do vet care ect. I mainly advertise for my litters and pick up extra work on the side with grooming and stuff when I’m in between litters. I also do stuff like give vaccines, foster dogs or dog sit ect. I wanted free advertising and named my business Alaska Uei. I did this to have my page pop up if you look up Alaska dogs, Alaska puppies ect. I also lead an Alaska dog breeders group as well. I used Uei because after I got married I took on that last name. That name is huge where I live due to my mother in law who is a realtor. I gain business from her just because how well known she is. I also gain double business because some people want a new dog with a new house. If new people move to the area I also gain their business for caring for their animals. I also do more then dogs. I’ve groomed rabbits, Guinea pigs, horses ect. I’ve also taken care of farms for people and such. My name also spreads by all the merch. Believe it or not… I barely make money off breeding. My main income comes from pet sitting. When I sell my puppies I have care packages that have a lot of custom stuff in it. So my logo is all over. Puppy stuff only lasts a short time. But people see my logo and also if stuff like my blankets or such end up in a thrift store people will have my logo in the back of their head. I also have stickers that all my family and friends put on their cars, laptops, phones, ect. For my line of business it’s all about having a unique logo that can be recognized and the name. I also have unique decals on my car and all my dogs on my car so my car is very noticeable and people recognize it. At this time I don’t do business outside Alaska so my advertising is perfect for me just word of mouth
I agree with this. When I got my windows tinted on my car, I was just looking for high ratings and the best price. I don’t even remember the name of the business.
Idk about the 5 star reviews. I’ve seen so many seemingly bot reviews and it’s so easy to pay for it that I always leave the highest review that I can than isn’t perfect.
I think you forgot the number one factor in your list, which is your price. All the five star reviews in the are going to beat out being twice as high as all your competition.
Yeah, i usually go with what my friends recomand and if i even slightly know the person, i'll pay what they ask and bring a little gift (We are slavs so that usually means alcohol). In return they try to price the work as low as they can without being underpaid. We usually exchange contact info for when they will require services i offer, and i'll return the pricing favor. That's how we run in countryside.
im a graphic designer. the name of your company is NOT for getting someone to purchase, its for grabbing attention and being embedded into someones head
I get what you are saying. Name doesn’t make or break a business. But Name does matter. Your advertisements matter and that’s a part of it. Keep it simple and to the point basically. Especially when customers have a hard time trusting people at their homes. Presentation and Image matter. People paying for high price services do care about the names of the companies. If they can’t remember your name, they aren’t referring you.
Nope. I care about the name. That’s how I based my products. First I look at the picture. If the pictures not good or not there, I ain’t buying. Then, I look at the price. I don’t get nothing over 100 unless I’m feeling special. Then I look at the company. If I know it, I use it. If I don’t know it, I’ll read the description and either proceed with my purchase or move on. Or I’ll just entirely skip companies I don’t know.
This is exactly how I intend to ruin the babysitters business after she refused communication while I was on a work trip. Napalm, baby, with Google reviews....
One thing to know however, a unique and memorable name. will be what gets customers back to you, even years later. A roofing company I did marketing for had 30% of their search traffic was from people searching their brand eg "Happy roofing" A generic name with reasonable rank gets you new customers, but leaving cards or fridge magnets gets them back when they next need it, as well as referal. The other thing, if you have an utterly generic "Roofing cleaners Ltd" won't have a unique search record withing Google, so your Maps listing won't benefit from your pages. Its also hugely important to include a word for what you do, so that you rank for that thing. Eg Happy Roofing will also rank for people searching for Roofing.
I mean when searching for a company online it might not help but from word-of-mouth having a memorable name might keep a company on someone's mind. I'm terrible with names but I still remember j k plumbing because the company name made me laugh. It was just the guy's initials he had no clue 😊

The realest and best customers from my experience come from them walking up to you asking for work or word of mouth.
Will confirm this, work at a paint store and it's very common for home owners to not even know the company that is painting their house
I work directly with contractors and homeowners. People paying big money do care about your name. Hence “word of mouth.”

I definitely overthought my name when I registered my business. However, I would never change it now.
@letsplayminecraft5424 i love that name 😂. I worked for a painting company called Image Painting and the owners son owned a landscaping company called Image Landscaping was Image Exterior Designs. i like that name like they try to do your image of what you want...
@letsplayminecraft5424Start moving slowly while they are watching you then dash outta there to give them a little trip
Mostly right, but I think you’re forgetting the price too.
Sometimes I check out the lower star companies. Sometimes when you read the comments on those businesses you find that it's a bunch of people crying about dumb things and essentially being bad customers.
There's a septic pump company around my area that puts "Turd Burglar" on its trucks, I want to use that company when I need them
My future business shall now be referred as “deedee megadoodoo (insert profession here)”
I actually look for the lower reviews to see if they make the minor things I like done like up their messes or how many times they've had returns for mistakes
exactly because all customers care about is results and getting good quality for a good price
Its all about merit, recommendations, and recognition for your craft.
Glad to know that my company named “butt fuck repairs” will still be able to thrive
I think the most important is how fast and well read you respond to messages from cuatomers
name does matter, i aint hiring a plumber from big joes unclogging pipes emporium
“People only care about 3 things!” Says the same thing 3 times 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I mean sure, but personaly i'd still like to give my company a rad name ngl
Or how quickly they can get there, like when the well pump seizes up, and all the heating/plumbing companies are busy with furnace calls.
Thankfully we found a plumbing only company

You forgot the most important thing customers. Care about. I'll give you a hint it's not a firm hand shake.
Reminding me that I'm the rare one by looking at each star level of review to see if there is genuine criticism.
Psssshhh Blast Away The Past LLC is catchy and rememberable
It all matters, just some more than others .. a great name definitely catches my eye but I don't base my choice based off the name.
I agree with this. When I got my windows tinted on my car, I was just looking for high ratings and the best price. I don’t even remember the name of the business.
My dad does literally everything so far he was a cook, mechanic and air but he does so much more just for fun like welding and cleaning
Wrong.
Sounds like you’re in the wrong market, you can have the bargain shopping customers they’re the worst to deal with, the 99$ guys can fight for them
i usually start by checking the service providers with the best names 🤷🏻♀️
Seriously. My company is Standard Window Cleaning. And my logo is litterely just Ariel red letters with my name.
Yeah, i usually go with what my friends recomand and if i even slightly know the person, i'll pay what they ask and bring a little gift (We are slavs so that usually means alcohol).

Yeah but if my company’s name was little black baby stompers would you hire us.
Funny how never Search for any of those considering its easier to learn and do it yourself
Time to name my company “Harry Balls’ hedge trimmers😏” (the emoji IS a part of the name)
Meanwhile hp having non of it but still get items sold
For many people its the one stars too and why they were one star
For a labor company no it doesn’t. For anything else… it 100% does.
This is not true unless you spend money on marketing. But from first hand experience this does matter. And more than you would think
There was a pet store called Doggy Style. So, the name does matter.
Wow. So true
Good to still put some thought into it. But if you put your name onto it… if it works, it works.
What if your company is called Robbery in porgress
Should also pay attention to reviews read at less ten then make up your mind.
This is true
All three reasons are very similar, this terror me something 🧐
I don’t care how high your company is rated, I will never go to Kum & Go. (An actual place)
HOW DO YOU STARTTTT
OK, but I'm pretty sure if your company's name is big man clean, I doubt anyone is gonna purchase a clean, lol
But when you start you have nothing sooo what to do in that case?
im a graphic designer. the name of your company is NOT for getting someone to purchase, its for grabbing attention and being embedded into someones head
I just picked the first option
Biggus Dikkus Co.
I mean, the name definitely does matter, it’s just not a priority
Can I know what is that machine ?
I get what you are saying. Name doesn’t make or break a business.

You forgot to say price bud
Mmmm... One word Chick-fil-A
The sky is blue

It comes down to quality price
Hi
@@ezpz4641 hi

The eco people care. Think green
This has inspired me to start my own company, We Will Kill Your Pets Heating and Air
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars ❌
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.3 stars ✅
Yeah unless you have a bad name like “total failure” or “peepeepoopoo”
Idk man “I fix pipe” don’t seem to professional
They name of your company matters if it’s really inappropriate
ok, ill name my business
"we litterally will not clean jack shit, do not hire me"
I look at how many one star reviews and why they gave the rating
I mean it might matter if I call my plumber business we pull your poop bo one is calling me untill I'm famous for my trash name
Oh yes I'd like to hire "shitty pressure washing" would 100% recommend
Not really
You clearly know nothing about psychology
