Before GTA6 releases in 2025, I need to cover all of the other GTA games. Now Grand Theft Auto San Andreas gets a turn after GTA4. GTA San Andreas would easily make my top ten list of best games, but that only means I can sin it even more because I know what it does right.

We actually solved the roman concrete mystery recently. It has a type of lyme in it that expands if it gets humidity so it is essentially self repairing and fills itself in if it cracks
this is incredible i need to get some of this.
I wish my body behaved like that.
It's essentially quicklime and concrete made out of volcanic ash and seawater, concrete gets insanely strong because of salt from the water and the lime makes it repair itself, all three combined make a rare crystal named tobermorite, real interesting.
@@coin2085If I remember right, it makes it very unstable early on, but in return it has a lot longer staying power (very unstable relatively speaking. Shit is solid to start but a lot less stable in the short term to modern stuff. Long term though is where it at)
Also, the Romans would sacrifice an animal and mix its blood into the concrete. It turns out the blood caused a chemical reaction that strengthened the structure by making air bubbles which make the structure more flexible and less susceptible to temperature changes.

There's still the rest of the gang, and the barber. CJ was also late to the funeral. For all we know, there could've been more people that showed up.

Ryder originally wasn’t supposed to turn on CJ they changed that at some point in development which is why most of Ryders actions seem out of place up to him betraying you
Yeah, Ryder's betrayal came across as a huge shock, it wasn't developed at all and was so sudden, and also completely unjustified, Ryder gives absolutely no signs he's going to betray Groove Street, it was just a way for Rockstar to get rid of him mid-story, since Ryder's voice actor (rapper MC Eiht) apparently quit during recordings for some reason I don't remember now. In the mission he dies at (Pier 69), even reused lines are used when CJ is chasing him in a boat because R* didn't have any newer voice lines at that point in the story.
I'm pretty sure he was supposed to betray cj way before any off this. His betrayal was supposed to be found during the photo opportunity mission that's why it was weird during green sabre, and cj was extremely mad at ryder during photo opportunity

I was 10 when the game came out. It was insanely popular and there were commercials for it all of the time

Tenpenny is the boss of the Los Santos Drug Empire; the real & behind-the-scenes boss. Smoke is the figurehead boss. Ryder is the street boss. The Ballas, Vagos, and Families loyal to Smoke are the main members. Ryder and Smoke never join the Ballas, they're the leaders of the Families loyal to themselves. The only people they betray are the Johnsons and their loyalists. Even when Smoke sends the payments to San Fierro, it is GSF members driving the Patriot (Hummer)
Tenpenny wants the Ballas & Vagos to be subordinate in his Empire, and not equal partners. For this, he arms the GSF via Ryder. He sabotages their deals (with Russians & Rifa) via Smoke. He lets Carl & the GSF hammer them to weaken them. This culminates with the assassinations of their leaders in Burning Desire (Vagos) & Los Sepulcros (Ballas). Once they're left leaderless, it's easy to fold them into the Tenpenny Empire. Once this is done, he effortlessly crushes the GSF in The Green Sabre, as their usefulness to him has ceased
While Ryder's betrayal is poorly executed, it's not a last minute change. The voice actor had no beef with Rockstar, recording all the lines he was given. Ryder was also a part of the beta versions of Photo Opportunity & Pier 69. In beta Photo Opportunity, CJ and Cesar were to use a helicopter, which is why they shout their lines for the mission. CJ still shouts at Ryder. Ryder's importance as Smoke's street boss is also easy to miss. Ryder is just competent enough for that, while also not being ambitious enough to try and supplant Smoke. Once Ryder dies, Smoke becomes a paranoid shut-in, as we find him at the end of the game. He does not trust any of his other lieutenants. When Ryder was handling the street boss duties, Smoke was inaugurating schools & orphanages
Jizzy is a part of the Loco Syndicate. He's a 20% partner, while T-Bone & Toreno get 40% of the profits each. He's talking about being screwed out of his 13.33...%. Ryder is the representative of their buyer from Los Santos, why would he be factored into their profit sharing?
The continuation of OG Loc's story is also easy to miss as it is entirely told on the in-game radio, on the talk show channel. Smoke picks up his record contract and uses it to launder money. Smoke becomes his manager, giving interviews hyping him up. CJ sees Loc siding with Smoke as the betrayal. Loc claiming that CJ stole the book at that point makes no difference, just making him look like a desperate liar
He def betrayed the families by pushing crack onto them
14.) Ryder n Smoke aren't Ballas, they are being forced to work for Ballas through C.R.A.S.H
20.) They handed the gun to him in the car. (Also it wasn't assault, it was consensual)
21.) Tenpenny eluded to what was on the train. He just didn't say it directly. But they knew wat was on it.
25.) He did question Big Smoke. But Smoke would lie n throw him off the trail
29.) They were absolutely on alert. The convoy of vehicles, and a plethora of armed security. Who snapped into action as soon as you broke ranks to go to the beach n drown dude. They were def on point
31.) Denise was crazy. She would ask CJ to take her on drivebys as a date. She definitely don't care how they met.
33.) It organized Choas. If these gangs are fighting each other then you can gain control of both gangs. Remember Police ain't nothing but Gang
35.) Killing cops isn't the issue. Going to jail for killing cops is the issue, and C.R.A.S.H had the evidence.
38.) He had a lot going on in this scene. After trying to save his brother that was one of the first things mentioned
40.) Accurate !
45.) As a kid someone told my Dad was a grape scene in the game. They were referring to this scene. Almost couldn't get the game. So...accurate!

42:20 You can hear radio talkshow in second city that OG Loc heavily promoted Big Smoke as his friend and business partner. So CJ's hate justified, besides, if OG Loc was his friend, he would contact CJ and help in some way, not chilling at parties.

@@frostdemen1 I believe TheProfessional made a lore video about that on OG Loc and on why did he not try to expose CJ's actions to Madd Dogg after their confrontation in the "Cut Throat Business" mission.

@@Soccercrazyigboman Since you somehow missed all the videos & news showing how atrocious that version of GTA SA is, to break it down to you, theres a hilarious amount of glitches/bugs in it, as well as (somehow) terrible graphics.
@@Soccercrazyigboman it's completely playable now and the best versions of it on console are the Xbox one X version and the PS4 pro version!!
The PS five version and Xbox series console versions run with smoother graphics, and a higher frame rate, but the increased resolution makes it easier for you to see the parts that Grove Street games, screwed up!
I've completed all of them (minus the android Xbox 360 and PS3 port) and the definitive edition for San Andreas is totally worth playing!!!! Specially with achievements and trophies!!
At launch it definitely sucked!! But it has since been made completely playable!!! And if you know what you are doing you have millions of dollars before you ever leave the Grove! Without cheating

San Andreas is the best game ever made, going the gym, buying properties, going the casinos, spraying tags, finding oysters and horseshoes, girlfriends, gang wars, delivering cars and all the side missions. Was always something to do in San andreas.

Not only that, but he had just recently got out of the hood working with the ballas. Indulging himself like this is relatively new which makes it pretty suspicious

Smoke was in CJ's house to waste Sweet with the bat, but instead he saw CJ, and he either still liked CJ or noticed that wasting him would easily expose him to Sweet because Smoke was the only one who wasn't at his mother's funeral when it would've happened.

Strange Plan. He is the only one not present at the funeral and Sweet is dead. Would not everyone put two and two together.

Smokes order isn't just for him. He ordered for everyone... he only ordered like 3 meals for himself.

There’s theories to some early game sins. Big Smoke was waiting in CJ’s house to hit sweet with a bat, and Big Smoke ordered a ton to give the Ballas time for the drive-by.

Yes, Ryder betraying the Grove is out of place, it's because he doesn't want to, Smoke is forcing him.
Ryder was also never meant to betray the Grove, Smoke's eventual betrayal makes sense when you look back on it.
he generally hesitates to fire at Ballas, more than the other members.
he had repeat visits from Tenpenny, while CJ and Ryder generally gets visits, then we also know what Tenpenny told them, while we see Tenpenny visit Smoke 2 times (before the eventual betrayal) and both times Smoke brushes it off as "i'm being blackmailed by them"
Smoke had dealings with not just Ballas, but secretly also the Russians, who he also backstabbed apparently since they were real mad at Smoke.
Ryder only mentioning the Green Saber also made sense since that's what HE saw, but again, he wasn't suppose to betray the Grove, so him only saying the Green Saber made sense.
But then when you spy on the cartel with Ryder, Jizzy, T-Bone and other spy guy (forgot his name for a bit) there is also some cut content, since CJ constantly yells, you were suppose to be in an helicopter hanging over them, but I guess even Rockstar saw how stupid that would've been, the 4 of them go to meet secretly ... meanwhile they're completely fine with a random chopper hanging in the air. (but then instead of them talking at a low volume, they YELL AT ALL TIMES, SURELY THEY WON'T HEAR THEM RIGHT?)
this was honestly the last real good GTA where you could actually fill every role into 1 character, since the others kinda focus on 1 thing, but SA just went "nah dude, we'll do everything at once" (definitely not a perfect game, but GTA5 was kinda fun when it came out, but damn does it feel dull real quick)

@@DarkDyllon San Andreas was like the first ultimate sandbox type experience that was fun all the way through, everything there was to do and I still feel like that about it today!!
Grand theft auto auto five was amazing when it first came out, but after you beat it once it did take more to get back into it and it did get dull quicker..

Satire didnt die. Things changed and nobody has been both smart and funny enough to both understand it and synthesize it into jokes that other people are smart enough to get. Saying things in a humorous tone of voice does not constitute humor, thank god
GTA protagonists didn't refuse to take drugs prior to GTA V, one of the pickups in the PS2 games is a pill that slows down time, that is a drug, the only protagonists that didn't take drugs were CJ and Victor, and their games are the only PS2 GTAs without the pill pickup, in order to prevent this bit of ludonarrative dissonance, then in GTA IV, Johnny is already canonically a drug user
I feel like this is headcanon, those pill pickups seem to be for gameplay purposes only, doesn't seem like they imply that Claude and Tommy are drug users but then again maybe the do. Feel like it's up for our imagination
I honestly always thought they didn't take drugs or drink because they were there for business in all the cut scenes they were offered. Might have a hard time chasing down someone with a chainsaw fucked up lol.
People don't understand the story with Ryder. He didn't betray CJ, he openly is a hater to CJ the ENTIRE game. He didn't like CJ from the beginning.
And it wasn't weed he was smoking it was PCP. Big Smoke kept him addicted.
Ryder is nothing more than a drug addict lacky in the entire game.
42:16 if I can recall correctly, after you leave Los Santos you can hear OG Loc rapping on the radio and praising Big Smoke saying he is the man with the plan, big boss, etc..

22:18 fun fact, if you're fast enough, you can actually board the train, then quickly sprint up the stairs when you reach the stop in order to keep distance. Its just that tailing the train on a motorcycle is safer and much less tricky to pull off
42:20 actually CJ says this because its revealed through radio broadcasts that Big Smoke is Loc's manager/agent. So working with Smoke, who is actively working against the Grove's interest, is likely seen as a betrayal by CJ
Big Smoke used OG Loc's rap career as a front for his drug dealing that's how Loc stabbed him and Sweet in the back, he was working for Smoke. Loc didn't rat out CJ because he knew Madd Dogg wouldn't believe him over CJ who saved Dogg's life and got his mansion back. Admitting CJ stole his rhyme book would also be admitting that he told CJ to do it.

To be fair, when doing the mission to steal dynamite by running over the boxes, dynamite is a stable explosive, i.e. Won't just go off in response to sudden shocks or being damaged. As long as no source of ignition goes near it, you're fine. It's not like it's nitroglycerine.
It's more of a problem that running them over will damage them such they don't explode correctly when used or in an unexpected direction of force.
You are correct in that dynamite is stable, however. It quite literally is nitroglycerin. The stuff is a mixture of nitroglycerin and sawdust, or whatever other absorbent dust you have, for the sole purpose of making it stable and not a liquid. Really old dynamite will sometimes start "sweating" nitroglycerin and become a serious safety hazard, even.

Dartigan clearly doesn't travel much LOL It doesn't take 10 to 12 hours from the East Coast to the West Coast. It takes like 6 and a half hours from NYC to LA :) I've done it twice :)
I'm just going to go stare somberly out the window from all the east to west trips I made with layovers...
The worst being, coming from LAX on a delayed flight, landing in cincinati mid winter, and the airport telling me since my tickets were from two separate airlines I could go f myself. I had to go on a nice little stroll through the snow in shorts/tshirt to go find a bus station so I could get back to GA.

Big Smoke and Ryder didn't shoot CJ's mom. They arranged it, but we see the regular Ballas who did it plotting it in the opening cinematic. WordOfGod also disconfirmed the idea that Ryder wasn't originally meant to betray Grove Street.
All of that food was not for Big Smoke. He was repeating the others orders while giving own order as well. 🙂

The story being such a poorly written mess makes total sense when you consider the fact the game was originally gonna have 3 different protagonists like GTA 5.
CJ's personality reflects in this as well as he acts like a completetly different person between each city's missions.

I feel like most of those sins are injustified, i can't debunk them all but here are some :
Starting from the first sins, CJ inst a nobody from grove street, he is literally the brother of the gang leader, of course tempeny would be interested in him, not to mention that the ballas and him were aware of CJ mother funeral.
Big Smoke was planning to kill Sweet but CJ showed up instead
The large order of smoke was to stall the crew before so the ballas can catch them, that why he didn't shoot at them
Sweet didn't make any comment about his sister clothes at the funeral because ... It was the funeral of their mother hardly the time to say something like this
Big smoke had the right to be in the house because he’s seen as family. He said “you picked the wrong house fool”, thinking it was someone who wasn’t connected to them. So I can’t see that as a sin. Hell, sweet coulda let smoke in the house. Like I said, he’s like family, saw someone he thought was an intruder that WASNT family.
When I was 12 I never understood why CJ got with Catalina. As an adult... I get it.
For the OG Loc backstabbing sin: He does ads on the radio supporting/supported by Big Smoke

42:20 In an WCTR interview between Lazlow and Ogloc- I mean Jeffrey- I mean OG Loc, it is mentioned that Loc is cooperating with Big Smoke. Thus, Loc actually did stab GSF in the back.
Also, Big Smoke isn't the leader of the Ballas. He only employs them, along with the Vagos and the Russian Mafia (according to End Of The Line). Thus, two sins for the video for not having made enough research. *ding ding*

You also don't have to hold gas while flying. If you'll press button once a second, you'll get same result but two-three times more flight time.

@@Artemas_16 the whole gas problem doesn't exist if they didn't mess up the console version, since i'm fairly sure for some reason on PS2, the fuel runs out at twice the speed, so by the time you get to the midway point, it's already halfway empty, unless you played stupidly good, you would definitely run out.
but I didn't know you could actually refuel.
So when I got to the Catalina missions when I first played the game I was always looking over my shoulder to make sure my parents didn't leave their room

Toreno is protecting Sweet so even if Tenpenny told the guards to kill sweet or let him get killed they wouldn’t do it cause Toreno already said if Sweet gets touched then a guard will find his family dead.

After CJ is exiled from Los Santos and Big Smoke takes over, there is an interview with Big Smoke on the radio. During which he mentions his "boy", OG Loc, and that Big Smoke is using his money to help fund OG Locs career and recording sessions, and his status as the drug king of LS to provide OG Loc with credibility as a "gangsta".
I guess aligning with Big Smoke is enough for CJ to consider Loc as betraying the Grove, Sweet and CJ himself.
That, and I imagine he views getting the rhyme book back from Loc as an opportunity to make more money as Madd Doggs new manager.
True story dart. I can confirm that there are police officers who will go into burning buildings ahead of the fire department even though it poses a significant risk to them and us. If they become injured then we must alter our plans on the fly in order to perform search and rescue.

9:20 CJ didn’t notice anything suspicious with Tenpenny and his buddy around Big Smoke, and they usually aren’t nice guys, so CJ likely brushed them off too because he didn’t know at the time that Big Smoke and Ryder were working with C.R.A.S.H. Also, maybe when CJ was arriving to the house, Tenpenny saw him through the window and quickly ended the conversation and left the house to avoid CJ finding out about Big Smoke’s connection to them.
I suppose you played the PC version? I'm in the first five minutes and I feel like there was a wasted opportunity to install a couple fan patches that also include a widescreen fix which would've made the video sharper. Oh well.

Also, the helicopter you're told to use to escape from the Caligula's Casino seems to be unreachable with the parachute, as it is too far and too high. You don't have to use it, you can just land on the ground and steal a car, but if you attempt to land on the roof, you will likely end up not making it and crashing into a wall, which would send you falling straight down to your death.

Big Smoke and Ryder didn't kill CJ's mom. It was a bunch of Ballas thugs that were doing a drive-by meant to kill Sweet, but they got his mom instead. Although, it was Smoke's fault that happened, since he hired the Ballas for the drive-by because Smoke couldnt do the deed of killing Sweet, despite Tempenny's threats.

You're correct. You would need a Bike and come from the front of the Train. Park the Bike near the first wagon or the train itself, run up on the sidewalk and spam the "Get into Vehicle" Button. The Trains starts to go fullspeed, while CJ has his "getting in" Animation and then you can even skip the ride. Pretty neat, but a bit difficult.
Still an annoying mission, so Sin deserved.
Gta sa's gameplay with a story like 4 and a graphic like 5 would have been the perfect gta game.

I don't know if you noticed but if you get your drivers license in Doherty it unlocks a new story arc mostly about stealing cars and I thought it was pretty good. There's also at least one sin in there because they're pretending you need experience behind the wheel even though driving is like 70% of the game and that's me being generous
My interpretation of Ryder is that he never betrayed Grove Street, just Sweet. After joining the Loco Syndicate, GSF members are entrusted with escorting the cash, implying they have a have a special place. With the Syndicate's money, GSF would be more powerful than under Sweet, who let it decline. This tracks with Ryder's missions to strengthen the gang. Heck, the gang wars end.
Ryder (a strategist) assuming control might have objectively been the best move for the gang.

Another sin would be the presence of a Family on the south beach of LS. From what I remember, there are only 3 Families in the game and they seem to be related to anyone. My only theory is that they are part of Temple Drive Family, since they are close to them
Me personally, I think Ryder decided to side with the Ballas after the mission Robbing Uncle Sam, because in the next mission, Ryder decides to leave CJ behind, but before that, he did everything in his power to build grove street back up
I heard Ryder turning on them wasn't supposed to happen. Rydee' betrayal was very last minute. To the point where when Ceaser shows CJ the Green Saber, CJ doesn't acknowledge or mention Ryder's name.
