Then what you're saying is to get into business with a volunteering mindset, ride the wave of unprofitability, pray and hope for money to fall from the sky one day? It's either a business or it is not. I'm in business to service the greater good but as long as the financial system allows me to deliver value and receive value at a greater return for my risk and effort it is pointless to keep any business at a loss.
I can see how you perceived it that way. The thing is, if someone is going to start a business without understanding that it takes money to run it in the beginning, then they got into it for the wrong reasons and started out with a poor mindset. I run a "for profit" business, sure. But that doesn't mean that my entire message is about making money. My business grows based on the service I provide, and if I have to run a little tight to provide great service so that way I can land a bigger client in the future, then sure. Look at some of the biggest franchises out there today - they request 7-figure investments with the promise of a 6-figure/year payout. so almost 10 years of being in the red before they can ever think about being in the black. The real question is - if tomorrow, all your clients decided to quit on you, would you quit, or would you go find more clients?
