Will the option to swap batteries on-the-fly be available? It will eliminate the 8hr charging downtime. I will be able to drive one way, the 200 mile battery distance, swap battery packs and drive back. Mounting the battery packs under the chassis on removable slide-outs with Amp rated battery connectors, etc. Will make it serviceable. Also, have battery service stations, similar to tesla and evgo, where I can stop for 20 mins, not 45 mins of charging time, swap packs and continue my socal to norcal trip. You get the idea. Assuming that the battery is the only part dictating distance and not a matter of allowing the other moving parts to rest overnight because of durability, this option can be possible commercially or even as DIY if extra packs can be sold separately. ...just thinking out loud
Okay I have a question. when we turn on power supply, motor will start rotate the differential then vehicle moves. Where is the clutch here Where is the control here ....?
you dont need a clutch, there is no gear box so no need for a clutch, you step on the pedal and it moves, you take your foot off it will roll to a stop and happily stay stopped untill you step on the pedal again, electric motors spin over 10,000 revs easily, and have powerful torque, so no need for a gear box
Why not direct mount the motor to the axle, also Edison motors is coming out with a better system
Edison motors does not make the axles. Just puts the trucks together
Kenworth doesn’t make the axles either, but they seem to be doing alright?😊

No shit Sherlock.
They found a better way.
No driveshaft to break.
This is hilarious, since Edison is using Dana’s axles
@@Neberheim yeah they are making them make some pretty big changes to meet their requirements
would you be willing to pro vide a power train for a 1 ton dually quadcab prototype?
you know eddison motors will
Thanks, Great Video information

200 Mile battery range infers a small battery capacity. That can easily be charged in a few hours not 8Hrs even on 400v low end DC charger.
so there are axles for Class 4-6 then or only 7-8?
Can I get this but a little smaller. So I can slap it in a pick up truck.
Yep! Talk to Edison Motors.
Need a setup for 4x4 that I can use my original axles with! Also option to add batteries for extended range
Extended range will take up room in the cargo space. Unless the engine and trany are replaced with batteries and that just drives up the cost.
@billhamilton2366 I'm willing to give up the cargo space for more range anyway
I like it
How I can help market and buy one for my car?
Is Hyliion your client ?
What is the range limit and weight limits
Milage Range 500 kilometres
Price ????
make one small size for a car-cargo trailer with some steering line to attach to a diesel driven truck or car!
Okay

You are an idiot. Electric motors like your diesel motor have accelerator pedals . If you plug in your toaster do the elements light up?
Why didn’t you make the battery to be a direct replacement for a fuel tank ? Unbolt tanks bolt on batteries keep it simple also how much you al
Sweet good video
Amazing
Hmm
Im interesting! Send me a sample please...
Edison Motors is going to wipe the floor with you because you are weak and 200 miles isn't far enough.
you can;t service this every where yet ;you are fool of sit if you get stock in middle of Texas you are in deep sit
He was only talking about the axles (with the hubs, brakes, etc) and driveshaft - the motor and electronics are obviously not currently common parts.
