Sorry you had to say goodbye-so long-farewell to your X-T3. All your points are valid, esp. about this being tooo much camera for a lot of people. (I shoot professional sports, so it's a dream boat for me) It's one of the best hybrid (photo/video machines) out there for the price. On your comment around the 8:40 mark about the rear command dial--on my first copy, it was sticking sooo bad that I finally gave up on it, sent it back to B&H for a replacement, and got a copy that rotates smoother than the first. Whenever I would attempt to rotate the rear command dial on my original body I would have to put so much force into turning it that I ended up pressing in the dial 90% of the time. Not good. Got my new body yesterday and going to go out and shoot something.
Anyone else find it funny that he asks for a flip out screen here, and then when they add it on the X-T4 he complains about it and says he doesn't like it as much?
There are plenty of boring camera reviewers. If you want that go ahead. Dude you're so entertaining, and that's the point. Being able to review seriously and passionately while being entertaining. And not being ashamed of being goofy. Something that takes lot of courage for lot of us. You rock 👍
The more neutral screen on the back was what convinced me that it is worth the upgrade from X-T2. I just hate the warmer colors that you see on the LCD of the X-T2.
This is late to the party but one major reason to upgrade from the X-T2 to X-T3 is the focus system. I use Canon lenses with the Fringer EF-XF PRO 2 and I get much better results on the X-T3.
I'm torn between these two but want something that captures wildlife for the most part. I don't care about the touchscreen or 4K video (1080p is enough). What would you suggest?
I'm very fortunate at the moment(have a decent job) and this is my first camera.....so, I splurged and went with the Fuji XT3. All I can say is that after playing with this thing for one month I am in love! I love the dials, the touchscreen, and just how fun in general it is to mess around with this camera. Now if I could only compose a shot!
Fuji I LOVE your flip SCREEN concept! They have in my opinion the best flip screen arrangement on the marked. Makes high/low photo a breeze compared to the Panny/Oly/Canon idea where you have to flip it all the way out before rotating etc which makes you miss the moment. 100% cudos to Fuji here. This vlogging-thingy is just for a few users compared to the large amount of photographers out there.
Looking for a bit of advice here: used XT-3 and X-H1 are now in the same price range. X-H1 looks bulky, but has IS... (currently shoot a X-t20 and I am looking for a better / more comfortable EV). Thanks
Omar, I love your videos! Super informative to the real camera user not just tech and specs, love it! I just picked up a used X-T2 for $749 and it was definitely the right call. GAS can take over the best of us sometimes.
Yeah totally agree with you. I traded in 1 of my X-T2s but got a great deal that the X-T3 only cost me £400 so had to do it. But I don't really notice any difference for what I do. Kind of leave my X-T3 attached to the 100-400 and use X-T2 for everything else.
Nice review. Just to clarify for anyone who skips to the end, he says it’s a big upgrade for video guys but not as much for photography guys. Mostly true for portrait and studio work or landscapes etc... but for sports photography it’s a huge upgrade. Also the other big upgrade for photographers is the eye af for candid shots at weddings. My personal belief is every wedding photographer with Fuji should get a xt3 and xh1 immediately. Xh1 for low light and xt3 for candids and faster paced events.
Fujifilm will always have a special space in my heart. I moved from Fuji xt20 to Sony a7rii, and I have no complains but somehow always miss the experience of fuji.
I want to buy a new fujifilm. i cant choose, what you think -> Fujifilm XT-2 XF 18-55 1399 - 300€ Cashback and free battery grip. Fujifilm XT-30 with XC for 999 € Or another version? At the moment i have a Panasonic g7.
@S Tra it's not only about budget, it's about value, size, what exactly do you compromise one when being used in the real world, not necessarily on specs. How much lighter and smaller is one versus the other compared to a normal FF set up to travel with. Omar shoots three different types of kit, so he can talk a lot about real world comparison for a pro or prosumers
Two things. First, the accessory door or the X-T3 is easily removed (as you showed,) allowing excellent access to the USB-C, headphone, and HMDI outlet. I find this really useful and eliminates some of the worries of having the permanently attached door. Second, in both the X-T2 and X-T3 the new focus bracketing feature is incredible! I agree that the video features of the X-T3 are much better than anything before. I have and use both cameras a lot. But if I had to pick only one, it would easily be the X-T3!
I am firmly in the Fujifilm camp and have been for a few years, but I have had serious camera envy for the Sony A7III and its AF/ face/ eye detection. The firmware upgrade on the XT-3 should keep me onside hopefully.
I found an x-t3 in box with the 18-55 kit lens for about 400 bucks cheaper than anywhere used online, and I drove 20 minutes to pick it up. I'm sure the X-T2 is great lens but I leapfrogged straight to the 3 and I'm so glad I did.
I just switched from being a Canon Fanboy to Fuji X-T3. I'm officially in love. I am video person mostly and am IN LOVE. But you are right about determining if you are mostly video/Photo person. My GF is only photo and has an X-T1 and she saw no reason to upgrade (although she is now in love with my X-T3 and will be getting one lol). All in all, the X-T3 will be my camera for a LONG time. thanks for the all the info!
Stiffer rear dial is big for video: Scenario Manual shutter mode 1/60s, X-T2 I had even put an electrical tape on top, and still ... had managed to accidentally change my shutter during a live event. X-T2 has bugs in video which were removed in X-T3 and X-H1. Also, I would not buy a used X-T2 from a videographer, because the device overheats after 40min of recording (especially in 4k) ... which is not good for the camera or the battery.
The difference in dynamic range and focus is huge, i don't know how u can not find this an amazing update as a stills shooter. I own both, and i don't seem to like the x-t2 that much anymore, especially for stills. I use it to record vlogs now. Might replace it by the x-t30 soon..
So I'm looking for a fuji camera for pretty much a little bit of everything but very little video. Xt2 + 10-24 & 50-140 or xt3 + 16-55? I can't decide worth it for xt3? Or get the xt2 and invest more on lenses?
I'm looking to upgrade from my canon g7x and Nikon d3200. Which would you recommend for someone who's a casual photographer the xt2, xt20,xr30 to xt3 keep in mind I'd likely be buying any of these cameras in the used market. I've seen a couple xt3 body only in the £600 region
Omar- you may be forgetting that the XT-2 was a whole different camera when it was released. It only became awesome after firmware updates. So, this is the worst the XT-3 will ever be. More processing power is gonna provide a lot of leeway for improvements.
My favorite new mode on the xt3 was the pre shot mode. I’ve gotten great bird shots, nearly eliminating the need to have to predict their random take offs at times.
Bought the XT2 (as a beginning photographer) with a significant cashack when the XT3 was just released and it seems I made the right choice. Video features are nice and all, but I barely use it. I'm mainly shooting stills and I don't think the added price for the XT3 is justified for a few features that are barely improved (such as autofocus).
Hey mate, your ISO seems to be changing on its own around the 1:46 mark when your daughter is running towards the camera. Is this something you can switch off?
Im thinking about upgrading to the XT-3 now that Ive been shooting with my XT-20 for over 1 year. What would you say the biggest differences are between the two cameras that would make the upgrade worth it? Thanks.
Hi Omar. I am about to buy new camera, i have the Nikon D3500 and Im looking for something a little bit more advanced. Now to be honest im not a professional but i know a thing or two. I have done some portrait work mostly and I like macro. You said something that caught my attention, I am considering this XT3 and also the XT 30, but now im thinking the XT3 might be to much camera for me. Do you think the XT 30 is good for portrait work and a good camera overall for someone coming from the Nikon D3500? Tahank you very much
I have been on the fence with this. I shoot only stills no video. I don’t know if I should get the Fuji xt30 xt2 xt3 or the xpro2 what would you recommend?
hi, i am buying soon my first fuji mostly i will use for still photos, like landscape, macro, and wildlife. should i go to the x t4 or x t3 would be enough for what i want. Also between x t3 and x t30 also for the needs i mention, will x t30 be enough? do i need x t3 WR. Thanks
I have an X-t3 and I love photography but I also blend it with professional video. If you arent interested in better video or vlogging the x-t3 is perfectly capable and if you are into something a little more compact go for the x-t30!
Thanks again Omar for a funny and informative video. I like that you offer "real" opinions and not a lot of specs and junk that makes my eyes glaze over....I am wanting to get into a mirrorless ecosystem and your videos have helped me decide it will be Fuji. Now I just have to come up with a great excuse to spend money on lenses (I do have a birthday coming up, so that's excuse number 1). Love your videos, also Moe and O- good stuff!
In Jan I had a choice....... @ the time I had an xt10 wiv a 16-55 f2.8! Fuji dropped the price of XH1 wiv grip a lot. Cheaper than XT3. So I did half way house....... XH1 wiv grip and very very happy. Still have XT10! Luuuuuuuv it still!😊

Awesome video as always... I never changed my fuji x-t10 because it satisfied my needs as a traveler.. But things happen 1)Battery door spring broke.. So changing the battery or swapping memory will be a hassle 2) survived two rain storms in malaysia.. Third one killed it.. I was looking forward for the x-t30 to be weather sealed but nope So had to choose between xt2 or xt3 For video i have my trusty point and shoot panasonic camera But need photos especially I have invested in a fuji system Sooooo yay I got the x-t2 and never looked back been using for 2 weeks now i cant wait for the next travel assignment Great video brother hope to hear your thoughts on new lenses.. Please zooms 😁
I recently switched over to Fuji from sony...initially went out intending to get XT-20 but actually ended up getting XT-2 because it felt more comfortable in my hands. I did look at the XT-3, but I felt that for me as an experienced enthusiast (emphasis on enthusiast), there wasn't enough reasons to justify the extra £300. How is the 27mm 2.8 vs 23 f2?
I have an X-T2 and an X-T20. I use the 2 when I am taking landscapes and carrying a tripod out in nature. The 20 is my travel camera and street baby. I didn’t go for the 3 when it came out because I don’t care about video and I manual focus in nature and pre focus on the street so speed of auto focus doesn’t matter to me either. But then the 30 comes out and I am thinking of getting one to upgrade from the 20. So question would it make sense to upgrade from the 2 to 3 or 20 to 30 if money isn’t an issue? I am leaning to keep the 2 and get the 30 since 2 does all I need and I have the extra battery case and grip for the 2 and I do love the small size for travel and street. Thoughts anyone. I am obsessing over this.
I purchased my xt2 instead xt3 because I consider one is for photos and the other is for video, I want make photos, both are great but xt2 is more than enough.
I'm deciding between xt-30 or xt-3, I'm going to use fujifilm as hobbyist or as backup of nikon z6 cos I just love the design the color is a bit natural. 🤣
One question about the video. Is it possible to use Auto ISO while in full manual mode? I'd like to use this trick to prevent those exposure jumps in S mode when panning from shadows to bright areas (and vice versa). Currently I have Lumix FZ1000 and Auto ISO works great in A mode (but shutter speed also may vary which is not perfect when shooting moving objects). If I want to shoot at constant Apertute and Shutterspeed the Auto ISO is sadly not available. How it is with XT3? Thanks.
🙋🏻♀️you're funny! Considering this for my 1st mirrorless for still photography. Those dials...Is the learning curve huge? And lenses...oh my, what to get? Does fuji have some sort of designation for the better lenses?
LOVE...especially when you can add a grip and make it feel the same as the XT-single number camera. Lol...BUT...The EVF is so much better on the larger cameras and WR. So there's that to confuse you.
Omar Gonzalez Photography exactly. I travel a lot so smaller size is a big benefit fot me. Buuut, WR, bigger viewfinder, more dials, 4k60...Have to check both bodies. Maybe XT3 is not so big :)
Been looking at a lot of Fuji cameras recently and was considering the XT3 or XT30 but the price on a second hand XT2 has me leaning way more towards that as I primarily shoot photos not video :)
Love the Benny Hill music, and I had a really good giggle as you mashed both cameras into your face to demonstrate the eye cup upgrade. On a serious note, I wonder what I'm doing that others aren't, but I took my XT-3 to Rome and Moscow, and only had to charge the battery once over the course of 5 days.
Hi Could you be more specific on the battery life plz. I saw in another video on Fuji X T3 that said that batteries won’t last long on 4 k video recording. I wanna know if that’s true
Still with my X-T1, shooting largely with the 27mm pancake and 16mm 1.4 - the only things I really want from the newer bodies are Acros film sim, compressed raw and better focusing. Not so much speed, but my X-T1 hunts too much even in single point, although I'm not sure how much difference the newer bodies make with the 27mm (and the 35 1.4 maybe) - any comments on that one specifically, compared to Gen 1?

... and I'm not complaining about saving some money and still getting one of the best cameras out there, specially after the latest FW Update.
The additional features of the X-T3 ain't that important to me and I prefer the IBIS to be honest.
Hopefully my order gets approved and I get the X-H1 asap.
Have a great day everyone.
Happy shooting.
Wait..so we "don't" have the buy new cameras when manufacturers say we need too? Jeez..next thing you'll be saying is Facebook is a waste of time.
I bought an XT1 a month ago. It’s awesome.
You need to upgrade! The second a new model is announced your camera becomes totally useless, didn’t you know that 😱😂

The way you mix your comments with the videos and photos is phenomenal.
What about taking still images..does anyone do that anymore?
I hate video ..
It was my first Fuji and I'm glad that I started with this because Im now in love with Fuji!
Pretty sure it doesn't matter which camera you have, as long as it's Fuji you're gonna fall in love with it
Fujifilm X-T3 Rocks 😍 Next firmware update is coming in April 👍
Wonder what he's gonna use now that proper camera is gone ? Something from walkman maker i guess ?
I'm binging these vids like Netflix. I learn while laughing. 😂❤
You rock 👍
Flip screen are mostly beneficial for videographers but as a photographer I would much prefer the tilt screen.
Oh man, I love your videos. They're not only informative and inspiring but hillarious. Thank you!
I'm torn between these two but want something that captures wildlife for the most part. I don't care about the touchscreen or 4K video (1080p is enough). What would you suggest?
Should i get XT30 for 2nd body? I have X-T1 with 18-55mm and 35mm
X-T30 is a "bit" better than X-T1! :D X-T1 will be the '2nd! (BTW, I have X-T1 and like it, but true what is true!)
2016: Surely they'll soon make the perfect X-T for me
2019: any moment now
2021: Buys X-T1.
How is the XT3 AF compared to the X-H1 with both having latest firmware?
Thanks
From the xt1, which I had, it's a massive leap, I use my xt1 now with manual lens and xt3 with my Fuji lens. Great vid as usual
I appreciate your humor as much as your review :)
I’d love to see you do a similar comparison between the X-T20 and the X-T30 please.
is the silver painting delicate?
Brylle Burcelango I’ve been thinking about doing that as well, have you noticed a major difference in quality of photos or low light?
I just bought one second hand. Did you get rid of yours and get the xt4. I didn’t like the way it felt
I love how goofy you are, it makes me watch the video until the very end.
I’m curious what is a better value, the XR-20 or XR-30. Or should I just bite the bullet and purchase the xt3
I want to buy a new fujifilm.
i cant choose, what you think ->
Fujifilm XT-2 XF 18-55 1399 - 300€ Cashback and free battery grip.
Fujifilm XT-30 with XC for 999 €
Or another version? At the moment i have a Panasonic g7.
Dude you're natural entertainer!
Omar you need to do a comparison of the XT30 and XT3. I'm considering one as a compliment to my Nikon FF and it's a difficult choice for sure!
Hi Omar, what do you think if X-T3 compared with X-T20? Is it worth to upgrade based on features X-T3 which X-T20 didn’t have?
Only if you care about video
@@RodolphosTechchannel or weather proofing…
I’m currently shooting with a Xe2 and was thinking about upgrading to a T3 but I’m also considering a Sony a7iii. I’m torn.
Looking more for photography confused between fujifilm xt3 or xs10
With version 3.0 firmware coming in April the AF and eye tracking has been stated to be upwards of 300% faster.
YES! Excited that the XT30 gets it first!! :) . LOL...Just sent you an email. Thanks!
@@ogonzilla Yeah, I know!!!! I wish I could have it now! I really need it for my next up and coming shoot. I am getting incredibly lazy. :-)
Wow! Really? I thought the 2.10 upgrade with the expanded video file sizes was great!
How have you found it so far
I just switched from being a Canon Fanboy to Fuji X-T3. I'm officially in love. I am video person mostly and am IN LOVE. But you are right about determining if you are mostly video/Photo person. My GF is only photo and has an X-T1 and she saw no reason to upgrade (although she is now in love with my X-T3 and will be getting one lol). All in all, the X-T3 will be my camera for a LONG time. thanks for the all the info!
Hey Omar , what's the best raw processing software for this camera . Will LR/PS do the job , or is Capture one better all around ?
Stiffer rear dial is big for video:
Scenario
Manual shutter mode 1/60s, X-T2
I had even put an electrical tape on top, and still ...
had managed to accidentally change my shutter during a live event.
X-T2 has bugs in video which were removed in X-T3 and X-H1.
Also, I would not buy a used X-T2 from a videographer, because the device overheats after 40min of recording (especially in 4k) ... which is not good for the camera or the battery.
Honest and indeed very funny guy.
The difference in dynamic range and focus is huge, i don't know how u can not find this an amazing update as a stills shooter. I own both, and i don't seem to like the x-t2 that much anymore, especially for stills. I use it to record vlogs now. Might replace it by the x-t30 soon..
My brand new x-t3 arrived today:).
Bird photographer:))) running chicken:)
So I'm looking for a fuji camera for pretty much a little bit of everything but very little video. Xt2 + 10-24 & 50-140 or xt3 + 16-55? I can't decide worth it for xt3? Or get the xt2 and invest more on lenses?
The look at the last second is magic
I'm looking to upgrade from my canon g7x and Nikon d3200. Which would you recommend for someone who's a casual photographer the xt2, xt20,xr30 to xt3 keep in mind I'd likely be buying any of these cameras in the used market. I've seen a couple xt3 body only in the £600 region
Question: Now that the X-T2 is like $800 new, what do you think you'd do? Also: kinda sorta really like that photo at 2:39. Quite cool.
I actually just sold the xe3 and bought the xt2 , almost half the price of the xt3
@@cesarm6131 Yeah, I'm considering that, too. It's such a steal right now...
Omar- you may be forgetting that the XT-2 was a whole different camera when it was released. It only became awesome after firmware updates. So, this is the worst the XT-3 will ever be. More processing power is gonna provide a lot of leeway for improvements.
what about the low light autofocus performance? significantly better on x-T3?
My favorite new mode on the xt3 was the pre shot mode. I’ve gotten great bird shots, nearly eliminating the need to have to predict their random take offs at times.
Do you think it's worth to upgrade from a XT-20?
If you care about video, yes, a huge upgrade
Should I get a XH1 with alot of lenses for cheap or XT-3 lol
Mr Omar, do you think 7Artsian 35mm / 25mm is good for XT3?
Which lenses did you use for these shots? Amazing.
You are so animated!!!! 🤗🤗😁😁 that's the reason I keep coming back for more reviews.. then I end up buying more stuff 😅😅
I've tried two saramonics preamps on the fuji XT-3, none of them works, I don't know what to do with this camera.
Tahank you very much
Any new Fuji release scheduled against X-T3?
I have been on the fence with this. I shoot only stills no video. I don’t know if I should get the Fuji xt30 xt2 xt3 or the xpro2 what would you recommend?
So for photography is XT 2 just as good as XT 3?
From looking at the dpreview comparison the xt2 is acually a bit better in low light, so just for photography the xt2 is probably the better choice..
Only at high ISO
@@SpeedyNeo yeah ofcourse, it would be stupid if the xt3 had bad low iso preformance 😅
Xs10 or xt3? Thanks
hi, i am buying soon my first fuji mostly i will use for still photos, like landscape, macro, and wildlife. should i go to the x t4 or x t3 would be enough for what i want.
Hey Omar, do any of the Fuji bodies have sensor stabilization?
In Jan I had a choice....... @ the time I had an xt10 wiv a 16-55 f2.8! Fuji dropped the price of XH1 wiv grip a lot. Cheaper than XT3. So I did half way house....... XH1 wiv grip and very very happy. Still have XT10! Luuuuuuuv it still!😊
Omar what would you say about upgrading to an X-T3 from an X-T20 if you want to get into professional work? Worth it?
Ariel Kettle absolutely!
Very interesting ... because I am about to upgrade from xt20.... havent decided to which model it should be... thank you very much for the review... very usefull 👍😄
Awesome video as always... I never changed my fuji x-t10 because it satisfied my needs as a traveler.. But things happen
1)Battery door spring broke.. So changing the battery or swapping memory will be a hassle
2) survived two rain storms in malaysia.. Third one killed it.. I was looking forward for the x-t30 to be weather sealed but nope
So had to choose between xt2 or xt3
For video i have my trusty point and shoot panasonic camera
But need photos especially I have invested in a fuji system
Sooooo yay I got the x-t2 and never looked back been using for 2 weeks now i cant wait for the next travel assignment
Great video brother hope to hear your thoughts on new lenses..
"Never Can Say Goodbye & Reach Out I’ll Be There"
I purchased my xt2 instead xt3 because I consider one is for photos and the other is for video, I want make photos, both are great but xt2 is more than enough.
I'm deciding between xt-30 or xt-3, I'm going to use fujifilm as hobbyist or as backup of nikon z6 cos I just love the design the color is a bit natural. 🤣
I just learned that the Fujifilm xt3 comes in two models the American body or international imported body...so does it matter which one you get?
International does not come with charger (is my understanding) cheers
@@mcdo0gal1985 actually I spoke with fuji support and they told me those camera's are counterfit cameras and firmware updates won't work with them.
I love your positivity and cheerful approach too!
Still not sure whether to buy xt3 or xt30 :/ how do you like smaller version? :)
Wow...that's some cool voodoo! That's great. I shoot hybrid photo/video at a location. So it's constantly working.
@@ogonzilla Ah. I shoot stills all day long, but never video.
Ahhhh, maybe you should take more photos?
When you shot your son’s hoops game- what lens did you use? How fast was your shutter setting?
Also, this makes me feel better that I bought an x-t2 last week.
Xh1 is cheaper, better value? I like mostly the new af on xt3 (which is important) and nothing more.
Hi
Could you be more specific on the battery life plz. I saw in another video on Fuji X T3 that said that batteries won’t last long on 4 k video recording. I wanna know if that’s true
Use a battery grip.
