Some toilets were put in on some of our routes but they didn't live up to the promises they had made to us. Bus Drivers don't get the respect they deserve. Don't even get treated like human brings by some.
The minimum rest between duties wants sorting out. 8 and half hours isn’t long enough. I believe Train Drivers get a minimum rest of 12 hours between duties.
I appreciate your support. We are in it for the long term, until the bill of rights is acknowledged. Bus driver morale has been low for many years. All points regarding fatigue, need to be addressed.
I appreciate all your support over the years. I've tried to show what the bus driving job is like and that it can be the right career choice for some people. When I started, I went on my own strong childhood ambition to become a bus driver, as I'd not really been happy working in other industries.

Thanks Stephen. Yes we are in it for the long run and to get better conditions for London bus drivers. It is tough out there, as we are on the frontline, dealing with it all. It starts with drivers taking personal responsibility by standing together united in the belief that we can make changes for the better. There are many issues to address. These 12 points will help us to make the job worth staying for in the long run. So many drivers leave, because of the current conditions.
I have yes. They are streamlining the routes. The 45 route will no longer serve Elephant n castle to camberwell via Walworth road, but there are about 8 routes that already serve that part of the route, such as 12, 35, 40, 68,148, 171, 176 & 468. Route 45 has allowed route 118, to connect people further than Brixton to Camberwell.
Anton i was wondering why cant you film logos because we all know you work for go ahead and drive routes from camberwell garage and ive seen drivers from stagecoach film their bus routes and logos so i dont really understand pls explain
As employees we have to respect social media policies that are 'in place' to protect companies. These policies have been in place, at the birth of social media over sixteen years ago. When bus drivers London wide meet up, we do not come in bus uniform, as we are not representing the company, but are using our own spare time to address issues, regarding bus driver conditions in general.
I think conditions were a lot better in the 1980s, compared to what we have in present/recent times. I don't think you fully understand what it means to be a bus driver in modern times. Remember David, times have changed since 40 years ago.

Bus companies need to honours these basic requests for the good of the industry as a whole. Without bus drivers there's no bus service. Full stop!

Yes Ben. I agree. New buses are nice, but they also need to be well maintained. Within a few years, they can end up like the old buses.

I drove for London transport in the 80s and we worked long hours but we just got on with it so stop your complaining

There is almost double the amount of everything bus related since the 80s. Routes , bus stops , vehicles on the roads , passengers and etc.
