Thanks - just found this hint 6 years later and I have a similar empty case and gave it a try immediately with some changes - OH HAPPY NEW YEAR DAY for me!!
Oh Amira, you are a legend....I have been looking for ages for an alternative to those expensive stamping platforms and this one of yours is awesome. I will be making one for myself this week. I think I would laminate the graph page that way the tape will come of easier... Thanks my friend for another awesome solution for us peeps...
This is most definitely the best stamping tool to date, I live in Australia and these tools are mega expensive from the US your postage is crazy, we have a k- mart thanks xxx
Hi Amira, I came across the you tube today, this is so funny, this time last year I made a stamping tool with the same clear case, but I had my hubby cut some MDF board to fit in the case and cut strip of 1 inch wide of MDF to go around the 3 sides of the case, layered that twice to give depth, and then cut a metal sheet to fit inside the MDF, also shimmed it with cereal box to get the right height, then I printed of a sheet in 1cm squares, cut that to fit inside, laminated it, I also covered the MDF on the top to make it look nice, in white. I use 2 small magnets to hold my card stock in place and it works like a charm, I was going to make another one for my sister, but they were out of stock for a long time until 2 weeks ago and found them again. $3 is pretty good, and a little extra for the MDF, which we had in the shed, and have made hers too, better then the Misti price, sorry for the long post. Cheers Anna.
If you live in the uk and have The Range store near to you they sell this type of storage called trusty box, it's an A4 size I added two sheets of foam again A4 size in base added one A4 magnetic sheet from my die storage folder I then downloaded and laminated grid paper again A4 size when finished two small magnets from old fridge magnets perfect. Works perfectly and as the only thing I didn't have at home wAs the trusty box total cost to make £1.99 just over( $1.50 ) I also made one for a friend she loves it too, does it work yes can it handle repeats yes last year I made Christmas and Easter cards for all 66 of the residents and 34 staff in the homeless centre I worked in and its sister project run from our centre I did cards this Christmas and Easter as well same amount it handled this job fine both times, I have also used it for my own card making project including some foiling projects again no problem. I would recommend whatever method you choose to use to make stamping tool that you laminate the grid paper so you can wipe off any excess ink that you may find left behind. Love DIYers we can make anything from nothing at times
Great idea! I've got an old Iris 12x12 case that won't stay closed anymore that I was going to toss as soon as I bought a new one but I'm going to follow your idea instead! Thanks!
You are brilliant! This is the easiest, neatest diy that I've seen. Will try this this weekend. Not sure that Kmart in USA will have them but will check office supply stores as well. Thank you for sharing. Had to subscribe to see your other ideas.
This is great! Instead of the double sided tape you could use drafting dots or painters tape. That way it won't crease the card when you pull it off. Thanks for sharing.
Great job Amira....you did it!!!! I met you at the craft fair....I was the one you were discussing the stamping tools with & we were saying it was such a shame they were so pricey........great job, I am going to have to try this too :)
That was great news!!!!!!!!!!!! TFS now to figure out where to get that box I do not have a Kmart close to me :( but I think I can come up with another plastic box. hugs, Judy

Hey Anna...what is MDF board??
Hi GrammyR1313, MDF board is, medium density fibre board, Like chip board but a lot finer, I hope this helps you, I live in Australia! Cheers Anna.

I made one a few months ago using exactly the same case. I put Foam Board in as my base and use surgical tape to hold paper in place.
Genius! I have a case like that holding some obscure papers. I'm jazzed to do this. Thanks a bunch for sharing!☺
Great idea! I've got an old Iris 12x12 case that won't stay closed anymore that I was going to toss as soon as I bought a new one but I'm going to follow your idea instead! Thanks!
This is great, very helpful. I am a big fan of bulldog clips. I use them for so many things.

I agree washi tape. instead of magazines you could also cut a couple of foam core boards and insert them. What a terrific idea.

Hi just curious what area of the store was the box in. I just can't seem to find it. Thanks
if you put a metal sheet and fun foam inside you could use it like a misti and not have to use tape
