The Great Divide // Jacques Beaudoin

Earlier in the year, Jacques invited me out to the Newnes Plateau to check out his new route, The Great Divide.
Over the years he has been exploring and establishing crack climbs all over the plateau, and this was the last of his projects.
The Great Divide climbs a steep crack that splits a massive cave in half. Following big moves on pockets and edges, it finally finishes at a the steepest point in the roof where the crack closes completely.
The continuation of the line looks possible, but would involve unlocking a very hard boulder sequence to rejoin the crack once it opens again after a few meters.
