With the volume up you can hear her heart racing through the lapel mic! The feeling of huge exposure while palming and smearing is unmatched. Great effort and filming.
@maxblair3317 They aren't though. I believe they're just pointing that the route is good for injured fingers because it's mostly not about pulling hard on crimps. It's like the difference between campusing an overhang and campusing a crimps vertical slab.
Thanks so much for watching! And ya, it's a long story but I had fully ruptured my middle finger A2 pulley at the beginning of my fall Yosemite season (several weeks before doing this climb) but hadn't yet gotten a diagnosis because it was a fairly complicated/unique case and mechanism of injury 😬
Especially when trying to get seen by a specialist. Even with a referral there seems to be a 10-15 day wait unless your appointment is set by an E.R. in which case you'll already have a diagnosis. lol @@amity-warme
@@skip1860 Correct. This is a video. I'm saying that this video is the best piece of climbing content--video, article, podcast, or otherwise--that I've encountered in a long time. I'm not quite sure what's got you so fired up about this.
I saw the reel on IG. Had to see the whole thing. What an experience. I felt the struggle, the thrill of the challenge. I could never do something like that. She is incredibly strong.
The head bar followed by the slow motion fall where you freeze time and reset with the desperate cry of no, no, no…was my favorite sequence of climbing moves ever. Such an amazing effort 🙂 congratulations.
The thing that this sort of route shares with OW is that there's really no sequence to rehearse. You could work it 20 times, and never place your palm or foot in exactly the same spot twice. Same with OW, it's just a full body friction scrum.
Wow her heart was pounding! Pretty cool to hear how stressed and how much energy it takes for someone to do this. You don’t really realize how taxing it is. Very cool to get to listen how the body reacts.
Very nice work! I will have to look up where in The Valley this is. Of course this climb is almost 2 pay grades above my best effort, but that was long before you were born. Anyway, my hat is off to you!
Wow!! That is a completely heinous looking set of moves. Congratulations for sticking with it and for one of the best climbing videos that I've seen in a while.
I've always wanted to try this one. But, now after watching the video, I feel like I've climbed it, and from the comfort of my couch. Awesome work on a world class stem. My favorite type of climbing. Amity, if you haven't done grand illusion yet, I think you would like that one too. Little easier too, but bit steeper.
Hahaha! I think you still need to go experience it in real life! It's mega! And thanks for the recommendation - Grand Illusion is definitely on my to-do list!!
Way harder than anything I've climbed but when I get on a 5.12-something corner route like this with a lot of stemming I feel like my hips and shoulders are going to pop out of joint. Such a hard, painful type of climbing. Can't imagine doing it at this level while placing gear.
Damn, 5.12 I couldn't imagine lmao. I get on our dihedral wall at the local gym on occasion, and even the 5.10s give me some real trouble. The movement always feels super insecure, and super awkward.
It's always wild watching professional athletes, because the amount of skill and finesse they have at their craft almost makes it look attainable. Like, watching that and seeing her hit all of the holds from an above POV gives you the sense that "I could do that," when in reality, I'm NO WHERE NEAR a 5.13d climber lol Awesome accomplishment! Congrats on the climb!!! Very very impressive level of skill.
God, Amity what a beautiful fight! Awesome to see how much more of a badass you’ve grown into. Venga, venga!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 also stoked to hear Connor cheer you on! 😅
Love the headbar! I suspect a headhook or jawhook or for rests in small cracks, the famous earhook, can be added to techniques. It was very wise to chalk up the lips, of course; drywall climbers chalk up everywhere.
Qué buena ruta, y desempeño!💖✨ Yo también dije nooooo! en el final 😅🤣😜 Me encantan los vídeos sin editar porque muestra la concentración, la fuerza mental y determinación del escalador 💖
During the first ascent of this route, Randy Levitt used Velcro on his cams and quickdrawed nuts to make it easier to quickly place pro, amazing ASCENT AMITY!!!!!

Ah, thank you so much!
Dug so deep on that one. Amazing.
They should have named the route "left rotator cuff's worst nightmare" XD
Awesome send, great vid!
Haha 😂 thanks for watching!
I started cramping just from watching. Fights like that are always inspiring.
I just read the description and apparently she sent this with a completely torn A2 pulley? This is one of the coolest sends I've seen.
I mean, this is probably one of the best route to do with a finger injury. Maybe not with a shoulder injury though
@miguelgazquez5717 13d with a completely torn pulley? Yeah you can't discredit that my dude lol

Holy moly, forget about hard offwidth climbing, this is the most heinous looking thing I have ever seen 😰
Naw, OW is worse eg Wide Boyz heinousness.
I will not forget. Offwidth is the worst, and you certainly can't seam them up with stoppers.
The thing that this sort of route shares with OW is that there's really no sequence to rehearse. You could work it 20 times, and never place your palm or foot in exactly the same spot twice. Same with OW, it's just a full body friction scrum.
