I like the 8.5 baker board
I have a 5’6 RNF 96 with the MR twin fins no trailer… funnest board ive ever surfed
My best friend bought a lost RNF in '98. His board with the water babies style art work (sub in hot chick+shark) is still on the lost website. I used to steal that thing every time the waves were marginally short boardable. It made me feel like I could rip!

love the rnf 96..if i break mine, im getting another one. when its really gutless, the rasta keels work good. when its barely shortboardable, but has a bit more steepness, upright twins + a trailer. straight up thruster if its barelling, just try to find a slightly smaller rear fin.
Lightspeed or Pu ?
@@chrisathan4293well unfortunately the board burned down in the Maui fires. I just ordered a light speed one size down. The pu was a little heavy but worked great.

I have the rnf96 in poly, it is incredible. I had the rnf96 in epoxy and it was great but not close to the poly
I had the same experience. PU just magical. EpS just not the same.

@@chrisathan4293 pu is good for all conditions, light speed good for glassy conditions. Pu s\also holds rail better. Downside is pu doesn't hold up as long
Any surfers can pitch in on what type and size of waves are rnf a good fit for?
You could put this guys on a plank of wood & they would still rip the shit out of those waves
