  • Tube Rivets are a wonderful cold connection used to connect multiple pieces together. They are useful when soldering is not an option whether a stone has already been set or you may have other materials that are not conducive to using heat. In addition to being a mechanical connection they can also be a decorative connection. This video briefly covers how to use both ready made tubes and length of tubing to create both mechanical and decorative tubing. Be sure to subscribe: bit.ly/2dyBgwT

    Thank you for your clear instruction and well done video. I’ve been working on tube rivets, but your approach will be most helpful. I’m eager to try again.

    Thanks for sharing... I have two steel semi tubular rivets I need to re-set on a couple handles for a project I'm refurbishing. And in looking up a DIY method your video came up in the search. I didn't think to use a center punch to start the flare... after seeing you do it I was like - well duh! Why didn't I think of that? lol
    The size clincher I need for these rivets is $25+ - If this works for me, which I don't see why it wouldn't. Saving that cost just to set two rivets is a plus. So thanks again for sharing the knowledge.
    cheers...

    Hi...what do you use as spacers?

    • @MelissaMuir
      @MelissaMuir  11 місяців тому +1

      All sorts of things. I use beads, tubes, or whatever else I can find or make that will give me the desired spacing.

    Melissa - it appears as if that hammer is on closeout at Micro Tools and also, - - sold out. Can you please find out if they will be stocking it. I had tried to buy it one other time directly from you but was too slow that time too!!
