Ever since I got a husqvarna 372xp I’ve watch all your videos! Even before that I still watched them. But now I’ve seen a everyone! Thank you all your help, I also hope the best for your health and look forward to seeing more of your video, it nice watching someone you can trust!
Absolutely right, sharpening is everything. It doesn't matter how crazy saw you have if your chain is dull, it won't cut. Nice to see you feeling better and enjoying sawbuilding again.👍
Hi Harvey, I just found this video, it didn't come up like I thought it would so I had to go searching. Great to see you up and about, you're looking good.
I am extremely glad to see you looking so much better and hopefully headed toward a tremendous recovery. Best of luck going forward and am anticipating much more great content on this channel! Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)
Great to see you again. Super glad you made it through your health issues. Truly enjoy your talks. It is like watching a grandfather talking/teaching his grandkids. Thanks again and welcome back!!!
I agree about sharpening. I hand file everything, unless the chain got rocked and I have to put it on my chain grinder to straighten out the sweep angles. Even then, I hand file them, afterwards.
Gotta tell ya Harvey ya look better than a month of sunny Sundays back in the saw shop!! And i bought one of thoes bars in a 28" at the Boonville show!! Damn nice running on a 462c!
Thank you ironhorse for the free knowledge you give us all....Glad you enjoy teaching us it keeps you active...Im 56 and stopped messing with my saws the past few years i became out of shape and it sure is hard to get active again.....never quit trust me on that!!!!
You've turned me on to tsumura bars a while back and I run them on all my saws now. You're right about opening up that oiler hole just a bit using your angle grind technique, definitely helps keep them running cooler, especially through those dead dry trees. What I noticed with tsumura bars is their sprocket bearings are super smooth compared to all the other bars I have and they have that sprocket oil hole too. With my tsumura bars cycling the chain by hand is almost effortless with almost no slop, archer bars loosen up kibd of quick. With my stihl bars noticed that they pinch easily and the bearings arent nearly as smooth, especially if you try not to leave too much slop in the chan. Thank you so much for sharing incredible amount of knowledge and experience, I have learned so much from watching your videos
Hey, ironhorse! I commented a couple of months ago saying I wanted to log. Well, after an arm and a leg payment later, I started my own business, which is excavation and land clearing.. basically my dream job.. thank you for giving me the courage and advice for logging.. You're definitely the best teacher I've ever had.. I most definitely learned more information from you in a couple of videos compared to 5 years in schooling! Glad you are doing well Harv. God bless brother
A sharp chain is very important imo, it's like having a new set of tires vrs old tires. You can have a load of hp but if you can't get traction all the extra hp is just noise and maintenance.
Thanks for the kind words my friend. You always give us straight scoop on the products. That’s a nice looking jug of maple syrup on the stove behind you ;)
Great to see and hear from you again mate. Might not always agree with everything but always more than one right way to get things done too, so that's my problem not yours. Cheers from Oz - those Hyway bits look way better than the stuff of a few short years ago. Keep reminding myself to get those crank seals into my old 61 and stop just moving the bits around the shed floor... Yep, the man cave is a real place of peace for many of us - sometimes productive, sometimes healing, always needed...
I got a dolmar 6400, i put a nwp big bore kit on it and been bullet proof,i haf a firewood bisness, i was cutting 300 cords a yr for 5 yrs, and now it needs a carb kit wont run right, not bad
Hi buddy..your looking good...lol...those bars were at booneville but I passed..I like the solid bars myself..I'm with you on the flex cant have much or they bind in the bore cut
Is there any way you can go into playlists and sort the different saws you big bore to have them together to watch ? It would be so much easier. God Bless and Love the channel !
hey hey old boy its great to see you in the saw shop i really would like to come over an see you when i do i will bring you a few saws you can fixs them up an sell them an put that money in your hands
@theironhorse6600 I'm working on a 660. The chain wouldn't turn. So I took apart the sprocket housing from the clutch and found the roller bearing for the sprocket housing was missing half the rollers. I think they ran the saw until the clutched rubbed on the sprocket housing and wore down the clutch wouldn't contact the housing anymore. Would you notice that issue while the saw was running? Thank you
Thanks Iron Horse i enjoy Ya vids !! A man dont learn something here , theres something wrong , appreciate Ya Sir , Sorry to hear Ya been sick , hope Ya get better with time !!
I hope you start feeling as though you are 16 again and sorry to hear about all the drama no one needs that at all .Your best at plain speaking .Keep up the good work .
I’m not going to be able to financially help Harvey, but what I CAN do is comment to help you with the stupid algorithm so that this vid is more likely to get “pushed” out on to the mainstream chainsaw audience. Lookethere, I just did it just by talking about it 🎉
Guys. Sorry but the chain is still about 45 days out and Bars around 30, unfortunately circumstances out of our control… when we have them . We will let Harvey know and he can spread word. We are also gonna work on a smoker project with them too…
Missed you Harvey wanted to shoot over and help you out if I could while I was up in the Walton area. Even just stacking firewood and splitting for you. Just to lend a hand while I was there. Hope you are feeling better.
You would have bent one of them Stihl light bars by flexing it like you did on your bench. Weakest light weight bar I’ve ever wasted money on. Love the tsumura bars. Can’t wait to get my hands on one of the new ones
The oregon lightweight bars that are no longer in production are far weaker than the stihl light bar. You need to get better sawing if you are screwing up stihl light bars. I'm a full time production timber feller, and only wear out a 28 or 32 inch stihl lightweight bar a year, usually the rail chips out. I burn over 5 gallons of saw gas a week to give you an idea
You know what cylinder has that same lip? A ks flat top cylinder. Those pistons hyway that is are heavy as hell! You gotta do alot of grinding on it. Question. I have 2 red eye 066 stihls apart right now. One has a thin base ks cylinder the next was mahl thick based. Was that common?
Want to talk about the dealers not taking care of there customers anymore I have a great one for you Harvey! I bought a new Ms 400 from my local stihl dealer paid them they did all the warranty for the saw then went to start it and it had no spark Yep no spark brand new saw! They fooled and fooled with it for about an hour mean while they had 3 other brand new saws on the shelf! They made me leave my new saw there while they ordered a new coil for it said a couple days max I could come pick it up! Couple days turned into 2 and a half weeks when they could have just gave me one of the other new saws that were setting right there on the shelf! Then when I went to pick it up after two and a half weeks I thought they’d give me a cpl chains or maybe a case for it for the aggravation hell even a hat shit no charged me full price for the saw didn’t give me anything off a chain a hat nothing at all! That was an experience I don’t ever want to go through ever again! Yeah the saw is great I have 4 other stihls never a problem like that before and the other 4 came from the same dealer but that will be my last purchase from them!
Great video Harv, I'm liking what I see in this video.
The world is back to almost normal. Best day in a long time The Ironhorse is back . Great to see you Harv.

Picked up 4 now of your designed pipes off eBay. Best money I’ve ever spent. Nice knowing I have a piece of your knowledge on my saws

Mr.Nick...They come with an oil hole on both sides. It is just a matter of die grinding them slightly larger.👍
