NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED! Beartooth Pass - TRIPPED RV S3 E5

- The Beartooth Pass - or is it Beartooth Highway - was WAY more epic that we could have ever imagined.
After driving from Cody, Wyoming on the East side of Yellowstone National Park we arrived in Red Lodge to begin the drive.
We didn't even reach the top of the mountain before Tim set off on yet another extreme adventure leaving Fin alone in the mountains.
We didn't realize it until later but this area is a popular place to go skiing and snowboarding! If we had known that sooner we would have planned more time to hit the slopes!

In 1963 while in college at Auburn University I had the privilege of working in Yellowstone and we spent two weeks in the Beartooth surveying for all the guardrail that you see. It was a fantastic experience as we removed the old wooden guardrail and surveyed for the steel. Summer of 1963. Out engineers were drafte d into the Vietnam war and had to vacate the project. Sadly two of my friends never made it home. Memories of my youth. I was 19 and now am 80. The drive across Beartooth stirs many memories...
You guys have very quickly become our favourite vlog!! My wife and I love both of your sense of humour and self mockery. Please don’t ever stop doing this video thing together.
P.S. we both hate heights too!
I have driven the Beartooth, I am blown away you are doing this in an RV...... Way to go! :)
Glad you had such a good time on the beartooth pass. I live in billings so it's pretty much a weekend adventure up to the top of the mountain.
A friend of mine said her dad drove the family over this pass back in the 1960’s before there were guard rails! Can you imagine being in a big old car with no seat belts?!
😱😱😱
I wish I had done this when my kids were little. Maybe this summer I will make it.
i am hooked on all your videos! you two do such a great job at producing them. dont stop :)
It's incredible drive...we took it after major rain so it was rainbows sunset s.... They had shut the road behind us and in Front us....we had it to our selves...beautiful
Great video. Cliff hanger at the end. Hope all is okay...
its an amazing road... gone on motorcycle, mini cooper, pickup truck, and some walking. Enjoy!!!!
We drove the Beartooth on June 1, a few years ago. Snow was 6 to 8 ft high for miles. The people in Red Lodge said that they had just opened it that morning because the snow was so bad.
This is the most fun looking video of that area of Yellowstone--just pop up to the mountain and snowboard, I loved it!
Yes!!!! What a gorgeous pass makes me think of going to the sun road in glacier national park. Every turn was another kodak moment! Beautifully captured for sure!
We had to skp going to the sun road! We were too long and the park was packed with people! I guess so we can leave something for next time?
TIM and FIN guys you have to go! It is incredible
WOW!!!! You guys made a great video of our beautiful big sky state of Montana. Thanks. Looks like you were up on the Beartooth Pass in the middle of June. Great time to go. We love to go up there on our motorcycles. You should try it that way some time. I am surprised you made it to Gardner, MT on time after spending a lot of time in Red Lodge. Come back to Montana anytime we love to visit with out of state visitors. Most that come here cannot believe the size of our mountains we have. Did you guys stop at the Top Of The World store?? Oh, we live in Billings, so we do spend a lot of time in that area during the summer.
I'm a motorcyclist too- I can't tell you the number of times we've been driving this past year and it's been l "this drive completely sucks in a RV but would be INCREDIBLE on a motorcycle". I think Beartooth was the #1 road for that. Would have been tough to fit my snowboard on the back of the Bonneville though.
We spent 5 weeks this summer on the road down south with enclosed trailer behind and Trike inside. We are 51' long bumper to bumper and only had a few spots where i had to back trailer out of. Anyway, we loved having our Trike with us to explore the places we camped at. We went to 5 rallies this summer starting in Utah(in May) and then Sturgis, SD(in August) and then Knoxville, TN(in September) for the three big rallies we went to. Keep having fun as we are. Oh and I am 68 and I wont tell you the co-riders age as she would kill me. LOL!!!
You have the cutest little doggo 🖤 And I liked the video 🖤
THAT......was truly awesome, spontaneous, adventurous and freaky all rolled into one:) Think I would need a drink after a day like that too!
You missed the coolest thing which makes Beartooth Pass one of the most awesome places on the planet. Precisely passing through the center of the highway at the precise summit is meridian/longitude 109.47122 degrees west at an altitude of 10947ft. Get it? If you want even more amazing, google 109.47122 or 109.47 degrees. It’s not a random number. Loved the video!
Just found your channel today. Look forward to catching up and watching many more videos!
Pretty amazing pass! I went through there in August of 2019.
Looks like a fun day in Yellowstone! I'm sure it's going to be a little sad leaving Yellowstone. Such a beautiful place. Keep up the great videos!
Love Beartooth Hwy. Haven't been in a few years, time to go back.
All I could think was about our (possibly could have been, almost was epic) manta ray adventure!! Haha.
Also Finney, how are you still beautiful when you cry?!
LYLAS 2 you both ❤️
The manta ray adventure is my biggest regret. That's on me for screwing up. I owe you guys a manta ray adventure. Luckily, they're in abundance in Mexico. (HINT HINT)
Love watching your videos! You guys are great! Trying to figure out where you guys are now... binge watching your videos while I can. Please keep them coming :)
Oh my. This was fantastic.
What a beautiful and scary looking drive! Just love you guys!
That cliffhangeerrrr!!... 😬
Most fun video yet ❤ would have totally done that mountian 🙌 drone footage was sooo beautiful
Amazing.
HOLY STUFF!!! Thanks for sharing, Lo :)
As always a beautiful video!
Love your adventures ! Great video .... !!! Happy journeys
I love the oh shit moment at the top of Rock Creek Headwall. We make that an annual event every Memorial Day. The awe shit moment when you look down from the top happens every time. Truly a point break experience. thanks for the video.
The entire beartooth hwy experience was almost as good as anything we did in yellowstone...kind of lumping them together by location, but so glad we went there!
We did the same route on our way back from Canada last year. Beartooth Hwy is a lifetime memory far exceeding our expectations. You might enjoy our video in our Canada Bound 2017 Playlist. We actually passed people skiing in mid June. I just wish I had put the drone more to capture more of it. I did put it up when we got down to Beartooth Lake however. We got some awesome footage of the waterfalls in Yellowstone so I'm expecting to see some footage from your visit soon :-)
Beartooth was great since it was out of the park we could use the drone anytime! I'm super conservative with where I fly and never want to bug anyone that might be getting lost in the moment. It was wicked windy at the top though and happy I didn't lose my drone on some of the gusts.
@@timandfin I understand completely and share your philosophy :-)
We've gone up Pikes Peak in an RV - I feel for your fear on those switch backs at the beginning! :)
Awesome videos. Keep it up!
I love both of you soo much.
Cute dog. Look fun!!
It could be worse Finn maybe stuck in traffic to a fro to work ,
time is not a option for your magnificent adventure .
When I am travelling the world I absorb every minute , hour and day , time is irrelvent to me .
Rock dog my pooch asked me if Pepper could have her own blog , all I see is love hearts shooting out of him.........
Also don't hit me Finn but this vid had too much jibber jabber, the views where breath taking
and I wanted to see more, remember don't hit me Tim !!!! help :)))))
Fin I can feel for you... I have a great fear of heights ever since I fell 24 feet and hit the ground very hard and very broken. 5 weeks in the hospital back in 2002... It changed my life in many ways... The fall wasn't so bad it was it was kind of cool. BUT that sudden stop at the end REALLY SUCKED!!!!!!
Tim is just a thrill seeker, looking for the next rush. LOL... He could be doing a lot worst things I see other dumb people doing. I won't say what they do mainly because I don't want to give him no ideas, he's got enough of his own... LOL...
Please be safe we're praying for you kids... Be blessed... BBE..
We plan to take the Pinto and camper on the Beartooth September 2019!
Cut out plenty of time for it! It was the highlight for me of our trip to Yellowstone...which I know- its outside of the park....but still!
Not planning on snow boarding like you did, but plan to camp at one of the campgrounds on the Beartooth for at least one night, then 5 nights in the park.
Ahhh ! Loved this so much!! But why are you crying at the end?!?
Is this scenes from the next video?
I just enjoy watching these episodes so much :)
Next Week!
Love your slow motion shots! Do you shoot those in slow motion or slow them down when editing?
Shoot in high frame rate (60fps or 120fps) and then we slow down in post. I think finney typically publishes in 30fps.
Yeah, people come up here all the time and think they are going to just rush through....don't happen.
what time of year is this?
Yêu các bạn nhiều. Từ Vietnam. 💖💖👏👏
You guys are so funny! But what happened at the end??
More answers next week!
Why the crying at the end? I hate cliffhangers. 😩
Next week!!
DUDE! Why are you crying!??!?! Where is Pepper?!?! Tell us she's ok.
PEPPER IS GREAT! xo Next week :)
hey did you use a drone? I drone allowed in the park? I think is no?
Beartooth highway is just outside of Yellowstone so it is permitted. But correct, drones are prohibited in all US national parks
@@timandfin Thanks for your answer!
Oh Honey I have wept out of shear nerves on the road many times.😓 Ain't no shame in that. I am a Nervous Nelly and have a hubby and grown son who are fearless adventure seekers. Our name is Karshner but the hubbies nic name is Krashman, thus I am Andria Rose Karshner aka. Krashmam. Lol Emphasis on the word "crash". I've been freaking out on drives since 1979. That is why they make Zanex and pot gummies.😂 Loved this video. Have a glorious day. Arose Krashmam
This adventure trip seems taxing. You look like you could use a vacation.
Seriously though.
Why were you crying at the end of this video? Did I miss something?? I’m confused!!
We drove it in a SUV, sure wouldn't drive in motorhome.
