Give a top-notch singer - that sings fun tunes - an audience that appreciates some of the best stuff in the universe - you get magic. Kate shined like a star, and the audience was alive - unlike the aforementioned SNL audience below. It took decades - but America is finally waking up to brilliance.
Such a clever song, I used to sing "rollin' the ball, rollin' the ball...." with my friends;) I am so glad my very first vocal coach introduced me to the music of Kate Bush!!
Where did Kate come from..and where r the genesis of her songs from???? Once in a generation just isn't enough.....but beggars can't be choosers......42 years later....and none of that wonderment is lost...and you actually do realise her importance in your life is greater than ever
EXCELLENT....Why doesn't Kate release a three DVD set of all her t.v. performances etc??? For that matter, why not release huge box sets for each of the albums (one box set per album) of the quality of the Zeppelin boxes (or Kinks Village Green Super Deluxe)??? I would kill for any of those things as many others would and there would be substantial economic gain. I adore Kate Bush and her music. So.............................................
Love how she got the whole room moving toward the end of the song. I remember the first time I heard a Kate Bush song and feeling I needed to be a part of that tribe.

Nope, other way round. You sang live as Union rules stated that songs must be live with live musicians ie orchestra if needed, yes lip synched came in a bit but instruments mainly live. The 90s brought in more mimed with MTV & unions broken.

Truly a masterpiece. I'd encourage anyone that can't get into it to check out (or revisit) 'Before the Dawn' and experience those songs in that live context. So powerful.
Kate Bush is totally amazing and led the way for Chrissie Hynde Tori Amos even Madonna theater amazing theater combined with music the way she uses her eyes it's scary it's sad it's happy it's amused in Surprise she really led the way for all those other lady she was the first
In minute 2: 12 that boy looks like a teenage Noel Gallagher dancing sensually 😂😂 I understand that some punks like Billy Idol or John Lydon loved and respected Kate Bush, so much more she is one of my favorite singers of all time
Hugo Paz It’s impossible not to love Kate ❤️ She transcends every music genre, she’s a genius and so humble. I love that she shuns the limelight and has a real life; the singers today are so shallow and live for the fame..Kate is a rarity, a treasure
2:08 Look how cute she is! 😍 also I’m legit like that guy right there with his hands in his jeans dancing also doesn’t he look like the lead singer from green day? 2:46 Now that is the most cutest also sexiest smile ive ever seen from the most gorgeous lady to ever live, hope she’s living well and still doing fab 1:31 quality dancing right there
When was this recorded? She looks older than she was when this song came out, and without the dancers, etc. This is really live! Thanks for posting it.
@Joel Adamson. She looks older indeed like, let's say in 1985. Maybe the suit she was wearing during the performance made her look older. She wore such suits during the promotion of "The Dreaming" and later in her career (for example in the live (?) version of "This woman's work". 🤔🙂
Yeah sadly these TV recordings are often discovered in bad condition due to neglect or lack of knowledge from an owner of the contents of the tapes. Tape wears overtime anyways no matter how well you look after it.
Peter Cook's comedy hardly did much for me hud rambling introduction is self evident with exception to work he done with Dudley Moore...Kate Bush so fun, professional and memorable experience, those in audience was given a solid treat to her musical greatness
God made her the best composer ,singer and with beauty in the world. She is so unique and no one can touch her in every department. 2021
You sir are absolutely spot on with your comment!!!
imagine believing in god haha you must be stupid
Beautiful....Kate Bush is the most beautiful woman of all time.
Wrong.....Kate Bush is more beautiful than the most beautiful woman of all time......she is an angel.
You need to get out a bit more
With that I agree

Absolutely Magical. timeless....
2:38 Billy Idol is in the crowd? 😱🔥🥰
Indeed!
yes
Glen Matlock is there too. Arguably more influential than Billy Idol, however, certainly in the US, not as high profile.....
I’m sure I spotted Billy Idol among the audience.
2:38
One of my favorites from the 80’s ! I absolutely love this song ! Great memories .
1978.

Like Vivien Leigh meets Natalie Wood, with the soul of a poet. How can you not love her?
A live performance, RARE for the era. Most TV spots were lip-synched.

I saw her do this song on Saturday Night Live (I believe Eric Idle hosted). The audience didn't appreciate her. Bunch of Philistines.
Their loss. Kate is too good for SNL.

Wow! Great to see this, I heard about Revolver but have never seen this performance. Thanks so much for sharing. xx
Cute live performance! The crowd looked awesome! Lots of good looking people back then, better than today's standards... 😂

3:51 there is a pretty good picture of that moment but from another angle
That bass.
at the end of the presentation, a completely different Kate Bush appears with that smile... what a good fucking artist she is!
Sounds great live. Not an easy song to sing.
Billy Idol in the audience at 2:30 in trying to act all cool and nonchalant. Probably went through a lot of chewing gum that night.
Fantastic video quality! Thanks for uploading!
Im in love...
It never got any better than early Kate Bush.
That's what i keep saying x
She's lovely
According to IMDB, there was only one season of Revolver. This must be from show nr. 1, broadcasted on 20th of May, 1978.

Revolver. Yes, it was bloody good. And live performances. Think Rod Stewart once guested?
Revolver had a lot of 'punk' type act on, eg Buzzcocks and The Motors etc. I had no idea Kate performed on this show!
brad wakey, this song was bizarre enough to feature on the show.
Is that, is that billy idol at 2:39????????? 😱

+Deici De La Rocha yes
Yes it is Billy Idol from Generation X and Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols with the cap on!
course not.eh,eh.
Yep
Was that Billy Idol chewing gum & looking gorgeous?
Yes with Glen Matlock too
I truly fear (but also secretly hope?) Broadway will do a Kate Bush jukebox musical now. (Pray they respect her.)
The men are clearly superfluous here in the shade of true genius
And Glen Matlock is with Billy Idol, smiling along - did Glen perform that day?
