It was on the PSP, known as "Saints Row Undercover", or "Saints Row The Fall". Voodoo is something that's always been around early SR. Vice City had Voodoo and GTA V(story) has aliens along with plenty of supernatural stuff but both are still grounded. The story is what makes a game grounded, no one considers the first two SRs or GTAs sims. Grounded doesn't mean hyper realistic it just means the main plot is believable and somewhat realistic almost every videogames that's not a sim has whacky stuff thrown in it just doesn't effect the story.
Honestly......after playing Saints Row 1 and 2 again on my Xbox Series X. Saints Row 3 and 4 are ABSOLUTELY Saints Row games in my eyes now, all the games still at most, play exactly the same, apart from different controls. Saints Row 2 is still the best, but I've found a new found respect for Saints Row 3 and 4. Saints Row was always goofy and if you pay attention to the dialogue in each game, you tend to understand why and how characters change between games. I mean, they literally have a restaurant called FRECKLE BITCHES out in the open, and it's just normal for the characters, not to mention that they pay $100 for a burger.
I always assumed the "31" thing was a reference/spoof to Hitch hikers guide to the Galaxy and the number 42. It is on brand for this series....just a guess though.
Gat Out of Hell really should've been given the SRIV treatment and been fully fleshed out. As it stands, it felt very half-assed, especially as the grand finale of the whole saga. Half of a great ass! But still, only half. I mean, you can't even play your own Boss! The character you spent all those games painstakingly sculpting is reduced to a damsel in distress while Gat (or, bafflingly, Kinzie) comes to the rescue. Shoot, I always wanted to give my Boss angel wings and supernatural powers! And instead, all of the series' trademark customization is abandoned and your sidekicks wind up beating the ultimate evil while every dangling story thread is handwaved away. Damn frustrating, is what it was.

If u loved saints 4 defo buy 1 and 2. I felt like 4 was was trip down memory saints row lane with super powers thrown in. Saints 2 was perfect specially for its time
Saints Row 3rd was by far the best Saints Row. If you want a GTA game, then play GTA. Not every gang related game needs to be super gritty and realistic. That's why I refuse to play GTA. I can already watch American movies, all of which involve gang grit, so why would I need to play game after game related to the same exact thing? Saints Row 3 added humor into the gang violence. It allowed you to run around as a male stripper in a g string, platform heels, and a giant dildo bat. It made cutscenes fun and hilarious, and the mini games were absolutely amazing too. There was some seriousness, which was good, but overall it was just a fun time without the need for Americanized grit. I desperately hope the new game keeps up with that. Adding some American reality is ok, but if they start censoring the entire game because "well this shit country doesn't like it," then there's no point in even playing. The whole point of the last Saints Rows is that the game is meant to be as hilariously adult and stupid as possible. Nah it's more of a mix of 2 and 3. The devs themselves were like, we're taking the story and campaign style from 2 and keeping the gameplay and shit from 3
The Saints Row reboot doesn’t deserve to even hit my wishlist on Steam. It’s sad when a series about gangs kills it’s slowly, aliens ok weird but I’ll wait for a price drop. Hell, ok I’ll play it for free on game pass. Latte sipping wimpy snowflakes, no thank you, Saints Row just loaded a bullet and turned the gun on itself.
If the SR reboot is kind of a hybrid of 2 & 3, it should be really good and fun. SR1 & 4 were largely trash. SR1 was too much like GTA. And SR4 was way too over the top.
How can you have a game about being over the top and outlandish in a world full or wokeness and control. Not saying it won't be fun but it went from what it originally was to now more a gta clone with super powers.
Saints Row has been woke since SR2. There’s a gender slider in SR2, your character can be a dude, a chick or a bend of both or just non-binary. You can literally make your character look like a hipster, ninja, wear a furry costume or go butt-ass naked from the second game onwards, all in a game about rival street gangs that is nowhere near grounded in reality or common sense, as much as some “fans” of this franchise would claim. The new game is literally following in the tradition set by SR2, SR3 and SR4. I understand your concerns and I get that, but don’t try to throw stones from that glass house you’re living in.
Everyone playing the reboot helps with sanitizing true art in video games. Im sure they won't care they are killing people in game but say bitch and your evil.
bro the developers are choosing to make THEIR art and anyone who is interested in the game is supporting that vision. if you don't like it, fine, don't buy it. but don't say that people who do like it aren't supporting "true art" or some BS like that.

@@curlysueandspiketoo1621 Nah, i agree with that, but look at when they rebooted tomb raider and changed the entire personality of lara.
It was very drastic and made people feel alienated because she wasn't the same person they knew.
If they brought back the og saints, fans would def complain about more shit than with new characters
I asked for a 13 but they drew a 31 lmfao
All that for a million dollars seems worth it to me
No one bought the Super Wad Wad edition, also at time of release the 1 million pound editions content didn't add up to 1 million pound, closer to 8 hundred thousand pound!
I love all of the. Saints row but not the new one
It's not really that different. Still saints row
im a saints row fanboy I should know all this
Love me some saints row 😆
Also Dave Chappell was supposed to write saint row series
I've only played 4 and loved it. I was actually impressed at how well the superpowers worked since I always heard it was a comedy game.
It became a comedy game 1 & 2 weren't jokes tho
If u loved saints 4 defo buy 1 and 2.
I felt like 4 was was trip down memory saints row lane with super powers thrown in.
Saints 2 was perfect specially for its time
Is this Ben from what culture?!?
The reason saints row hate gta is because of development saints row.
Now try destroy all humans
Only like 1 & 2 hopefully it doesn't get worst then 3 & 4
i dont know how people see this ass a bad game, this looks really good, it might not be true to saints row but its still a good game
saints row 2 was the best in the series. 3 was lame 4 was fun and wacky but it wasn't saints row
I never play it but i like it
the gang from the reboot looks incredibly lame
Too bad the new saints rows games gonna flop r.i.p
If the game is no longer designed to be that, then it's no longer Saints Row, it's just another GTA clone that's garbage
They will kill the franchise with the new game. Gone from gangbangers to guys trying to pay off student loans
That was a joke by the devs, nobody is actually paying student loans
I still love saints row 4 and gat out of hell.
4 I hate but outta hell I had a lot of fun with but the reboot looks so trash I'm embarrassed for the devs.. it's so bad it'll literally completely bankrupt what's left of the studio
these game developers are really stupid IMO. After Saints Row Iv they should've gone back to the roots with the boss, Shaundi, Pierce, Gat etc.. without superpowers n stuff, imagine the sales.. But what do they do? Reset the whole series, give us Fortnite vibes. Imagine if they just continued the series like Saints row 2 and 3
There's nothing to compare between the reboot and fortnite
@@haus_o_slaughter628 I am not talking about any of the physics. How the game looks and the character animation n stuff really DOES look like fortnite. And this is not only my opinion its the opinion of thousands of others.
Woooo let’s go!!!!! Fat Tuesday and a Triple Jump!!!!
"a game that, tonally at least, aims to be more like saints row the third"
and now ive lost interest in this new game
saints row 3 took everything the first 2 games built and dropped a steaming plop all over it
the first 2 games were set in a realistic world and the main story was very serious
all the comedy came from side things like shop names, radio adverts, clothing options, and side missions
saints row 3 turned everything into a big dumb goof, nothing was serious, nothing made sense, and no one cared 'but dont worry lol, we'll have the characters point it out so no one can complain!'
not to mention about half the side stuff was stripped out
i actually preferred saints row 4 because it ramps the stupidity up so much it becomes a(n unintentional) parody of 3 and at least the super powers provided a fun power fantasy
saints row 3 jumped the shark, saints row 4 saw that and said 'hold my flaming moe' before putting on its smallest banana hammock painting the words 'make aardvark porn not war' on its chest and shoving a dozens sparklers up its butt before jumping the cyborg sharks with bees in their mouth and when they open their mouths the bees sing friday by rebecca black
the saints row brand of humor is not one that can be both in the spotlight and toned down
it needs to either be kept outside of the main focus, as 1 and 2 did it, or blown so far out of proportion you have no choice but to lean into it and enjoy the ride
Nah it's more of a mix of 2 and 3. The devs themselves were like, we're taking the story and campaign style from 2 and keeping the gameplay and shit from 3
Saints Row > GTA
I confess. I was the one that bought the Million Dollar Saints Row IV edition. :)
Who agrees saints row 2 was the best one
Definitely the best 1. I loved the customisation features.
The only thing you need to know about the saints row series. Sr1 the best game sr2 best rep system. The rest are garbage
#1 The new one because, I'll never play that trash.
They really gotta stop saying “millennial power fantasy” thing tbh.
👽
Dude saints row is dead 💀 they failed the series….. and the fans sorry what a loss hope these trash devs finally get it 3 and up killed it.
Not saying it won't be fun but it went from what it originally was to now more a gta clone with super powers.
saints row was always a GTA clone...so it's going back to what it "originally was"
The last installment wasn't grounded enough we need to go back to basics.
Ah yes let's bring it back to the second worst game in the series
It's aged the best story wise. Modern gta has made even the wackiness of Saints row 2 make it still seem like a gta clone.
Not interested in Saints Woke.
Where's the woke?
You shouldn't really call people out for telling you if they knew this or not, superfan or not. You're making a bold statement about a popular game.
The new game is not Saints Row it is hipster woke trash
You played it already?
*reading between the lines* oh you mean it has a woman and/or black person in it?
@@ShadowEl no one mentioned women or people of colour only you.
@@ShadowEl if you forgot Saints 1-4 has woman and black persons in it. Not sure what you try to point out here
Saints Row has been woke since SR2.
Saints Row? The big ole GTA rip off series. Never played it. I don't like knock offs.
There's a literal shop called pawn hub in the reboot lol, if you're saying they're playing it safe, they aren't.
